@@SegaMario Pretty much this. Also all the developers who worked on the genesis games had already left including Yuji Naka with exception were producer Takashi Iizuka and composer Jun Senoue. All that old talent was gone.

Really great work! I love the idea of zooming out the camera as you go faster to be able to see more of what's in front of you. I feel it could use a little tweaking as it's constantly zooming in and out though.

Wow, a proper 2.5D Sonic 1. The physics and build up of speed are so smooth. I did not see that coming from an attempt at a 2.5D Sonic game, not since that OLD one that had like 3 levels and was continued by other fans after the original creator walked away from it or something like that. It was amaaazing and this one looks awesome too!👏👏👏

Reminds me a lot of the 3DS Generations Green Hill in aesthetic. Awesome looking stuff, would love a full remake in this unique style. The dynamic camera is especially welcome.
I love the transitions between acts. But if there's one thing I didn't like, and it was a complaint of mine from both Sonic 4 games, was the camera zooming in and out of different parts of the level. I would've preferred if the camera stayed in one zoom distance permanently. Otherwise, this demo looks good.
First off this is freaking incredible. I have a few ideas for edits that might be good! Try a different font that isn't pixelated. There has to be a font out there that translates how the pixel font can look like in modern UI. The life icon should prolly be something more akin to what the sonic generations life icon looks like, try and make your own version that really makes it stand out but would look good in an item monitor! The classic eggman in the goal post should be modern eggman since that's the one we see in the cutscenes and boss.
If there was no such thing as "classic Sonic" every time Sonic did a new 2D side-scrolling game. He'd be like other video game characters that didn't need to change their appearance when doing a retro installment.
