I did my make-up myself on my wedding day. No girls in my room, just me, light music, silky robe and I think it was the best idea. My hair was done professionally before I applied, so I kind of went with what I liked with the style of the hair. It wasn't stressful at all.

Good idea. I had my best friend, Mom and pastors wife who helped a lot along the way. All 3 stressed me out. Oh and they forgot to put my veil on. I blame them not myself Lol

I recommend just doing your own makeup. I totally get what you’re saying. I wanted to be pampered on my wedding so I did a makeup trial (thank god) and I hated it. So I ended doing my own. It was fun getting ready with the ladies. Wasn’t stressful.

Definitely!! We did not like the makeup done at my sister’s wedding! I actually showed them the pictures from Steph’s bridal makeup video and they did not do it right!

YES YES YES!! I'm so excited for this series!!! And I totally suggest doing your own makeup. Like you said, you're comfortable with doing it, and you already know you're amazing at it! I did mine and then had someone do my hair, and that was my time to sit and relax and feel good. Highly suggest it.
Couldn’t be happier for you both. Your entire speech at the end about timelines made me tear up. I just turned 26 and am in a 4 year relationship and lately I’ve been inundated with questions about marriage and babies. These things aren’t priorities to me or my partner right now, we are focused on our careers and making memories with each other. Thank you for normalizing this!

I got LASIK last week, and let me tell you best decision of my life!! I’m sad I waited as long as I did. I’ve worn contacts since I was 13 and it’s life changing to be able to see 24/7. Definitely give your eyes time to heal before the wedding since they get sensitive to sun/wind/lights.

@@nicolem6109 according to my doctor results last until your eyes start to deteriorate naturally which for most people is like late 40s/early 50s. I’d say even if you get 10-15 years out of it it’s still pretty worth it!

I originally wanted to elope but I’m an only child so my mom would have been heartbroken. We ended up having a small wedding with 40 guests and it was the best decision ever! Intimate with the very most important people in our lives. Then you can also splurge on details that you ordinarily wouldn’t have been able to afford for loads of people.
Awww I love that!! Yeah I’m the only daughter so I feel like my parents would be sad if I eloped but I love that you had such a great intimate day!

that is going to be a beautiful wedding omg! also i really appreciate you mentioning how there's no time frame on getting married/kids.. you're so right, we do need to normalize not bugging people on that topic and minding our own business more. i'm a bridesmaid in my best friends wedding next month and she's younger than me and i'd be lying if i said i haven't been going through the motions looking at my own life.. but you're right there's no rush and it's ok.. i hate when people ask about kids and marriage when i've given literally no hint that i want that or i'm planning on it any time soon it's such an awkward convo to bomb on people lol can't wait for more in this series !!

Let me tell you....your wedding is going to be SO MAGICAL. Everything you answered is exactly as I would have answered and I had my wedding in Cancun of Nov 2020. It was INCREDIBLE...we had 60 guests and the weather was amazing. He will cry FOR SURE! So exciting for you!!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

You did a bridal makeup tutorial about 3 years ago and I used that to do my own makeup for my wedding day! You’re going to look so beautiful on your special day, don’t be pressured to have a makeup artist if you feel confident doing your own makeup ❤️
GIRL... My husband and I were together for 5 years before we got married and in that time span I saw him cry ONCE. The day of our wedding he bawled like a baby practically the entire day. You might be surprised.

I got LASIK done before I got married too because I was blind. I’m so glad I did. I would recommend to get it done sooner than later though because the sun is extremely bright for about the first year. Just something to think about! So excited for you Steph!

Destination weddings are the best! As it’s smaller scale you can spend more on making the day perfect for you! I would focus on good food, drinks flowing, great DJ and surprise entertainment! I would recommend hair up in the heat and to show off your dress, this is one thing I regretted as the curls just dropped! Looking forward to the rest of your series! 😊

Try on every style of dress you think you might want! I knew I wanted an aline/ballgown, but was surprised how I felt when l tried on a dress style I didn't think I'd love..I ultimately went with what I had originally planned, but try on everything! It could look completely different on the hanger vs on you..can't wait to see how everything comes together!❤️

Regarding the dress, don't stress and try on as many dresses as you possibly can! Keep your destination in mind and the weather. And you'll know when you've found your dress bc you won't want to take it off and it'll make you feel absolutely gorgeous. You'll have an amazing wedding, I'm so excited for you! So I have followed for a very long time and I live in Syracuse. I feel like the older I get I focus in on things that really speak to me and I think that’s why I was so drawn to you like even in this video when you said you have never envisioned your wedding prior. Totally get you on that.. 100%. All my friends talk about where they thought they would be at 30 and their relationship, marriage and kids. I just got out of a 8yr old relationship that wasn’t working and I always felt pressured to have everything planned. I also think it’s where we are from, like everyone is trying to settle down with whoever and it’s like a “plan” they planned on since birth. I felt like an outcast for so long because I never felt the urge to get married until I felt it in my heart. But anyways I am very happy for you! And I love who you are! Thanks for always being a “friend” on TH-cam for many years! Cheers love ❤️
