My absolute favorite feature of ComfyUI is that the whole workflow, from prompts to control nets to seed values, is stored inside the final rendered image.
I recently learned some new composition techniques from this channel, and I could just load up an old image I wasn't completely happy with, improve it using this new knowledge, and create a new render -- no need to mess around with json files for configuration settings.

    For other beginners that follow:
    1. To make your learning much, much easier, it is not clearly stated, but absolutely essential that you have some working knowledge of how stable diffusion works or some experience of working with A1111 before getting into this. Of course, you can choose to learn this on the go side by side as well (but that may become overwhelming!)
    2. Things that you need to know and should set up at the backend to follow along this series: a) Installing Comfy UI, b) Downloading models/ checkpoints, VAE, All controlnet models (Hint: SD1.5 and SDXL use different controlnet models), LoRAs, etc., (Note that in this video, it is explained how to link your existing A1111 downloaded models to ComfyUI).
    3. This course follows SD1.5 in general. When using SDXL, workflow for how you provide the CLIP inputs changes slightly, so do check that out seperately.

Thanks. Do the A1111 file path in the Yaml File should follow a specific address pattern?. I renamed the Yaml file erasing the ".example" at the end of the file name and edited in the notepad and paste the address where my A1111 is installed. I save it as explained in the video, made reload in the manager, restarted the comfi ui but when the application were loading it said "json file path not recognized" in the terminal . I have backed up the original yaml example file and put it again and the comfy ui recovered, but I suspect that the system don't identify where the A1111 are. I installed both a1111 and comfy ui in the same secondary hard drive E: , not in C: due to space. Any idea of what I might be doing wrong? Thanks for the help.

I actually already learned something. I usually download my models manually so havent clicked on the model downloader.... seeing you can download controlnet models via that is a godsend. Its annoying to manually download each one of those so that will save a lot of time.

A tip on the reroutes. if you right click the dot for the out put and rename it you get that text in the centre of the reroute (where you would often just get "int" or "string" this helps make work flows easier to read as it gets longer.

Hey Olivio! I'm one of your 'bonehead' followers! LOL LOL. Well, I've been avoiding Comfy due to me NOT wanting to learn something new but my latest SDXL project and the out of CUDA memory errors (using Nvidia 4500 GPU with 20Gb of VRAM) hampered me so much (GAAA!!!) I've decided to give Comfy a try. Well! Since you took so much time putting out these tutorials, I'm going to take advantage. :) Thank you sooo, sooo, much! Keep doing what you're doing; we appreciate it.

@olivio this video deserves so much more. All your your step by step videos are fanTAStic.
Ive been an img-gen fan of yours since the beginning of you doing this.
I have been away from img-gen due to politics and irl wars taking up my free-time.
    BUT!
You are my go-to when I have real, substantial free time to make things!
I am going through your vids for the third time to refresh myself after many months of non image creative stuff I've been tasked to do. It feels like a year of hiatus from img-gen,,, for LLM learning and implementation. BOARIING. But necessary to know. le-sigh.
I guess... i am just noting this to you, here, so you know that your work, you lessons, are SO valuable, even if there might be a pause in viewership like mine and others.
I can't wait to see what you do next!

For a suggestion if you ever update this series with a new redone series I highly recommend to have episode 1 cover the basic interface such as KSampler, Load checkpoint, etc. and actually engage in a generation. Then, in the following video after you dive into tips like organization, ComfyUI features, tips and tricks, and more. This way they have a basic knowledge foundation before overwhelming them with tips they might otherwise forget afterwards.

A little more advanced, but apart from the "sticky group areas", you can also select multiple nodes and click "create group node".
This combines all I/O & values into a SINGLE widget. You can integrate reroutes to create extra inputs & outputs as well. Drawback is that if you create a "wrongly wired" widget it will be hard to debug, but it can be very useful to visually simplify very complex workflows.

Great start. I still think it should be called ClutterUI but that's me.
A request if you haven't already filmed it. Would you think about doing a tutorial on customising filenames on output, the same as A1111 does it. I'm not talking about simply changing the name but adding the checkpoint name, the prompt, the date and any other information someone might want. It took me many hours to figure this out and I'm still not sure how it works. Documentation is almost non existent for it, so others may find it really useful too. Cheers.

I'd look up all in one workflows bring them in, install all the new nodes, and try to do a render and get an error along the massive amounts of nodes and have no idea how to fix it. Could you do a video for all in one work flows? say one for flux and one for SDXL? Could you do a work flow that works for each? just disabling the flux unet and sdxl checkpoints on a need too basis?

I have tried repeatedly to install the manager and the location of the files seems to have changed. It's all different from what you show and I am not able to get it to work. The bat file cannot locate the files in the python library, and indeed they are not there. I like your presentation but so far I'm running into a lot of issues. That "Thin Blue Line" you reference seems to be gone too.

Made a ComfyUI setup for batch img2img processing new sprites for a game. Found some of it in WSO module for prompts and for images - it seems to work as long as you use only one instance of the module for batch image load and for "next text line loader" for prompts. It took me ages to figure out the quirk about only 1 instance, did not have fun.

If I link the model path via the .yaml file to another application folder like A1111, will ComfyUI take that folder additionally and also use the models installed in the ComfyUI folder or will it use the model path instead of the models installed in ComfyUI folder?
