i have doing freelance game development for about 3 years, it just didn't teach me to do and finish real-life / environment projects but it also got me through college. not earning as much as other developers as myself but living in a small city in a third world country, the money i currently make is more than enough. i have now slowly transitioned into per contract work rather then per project, because of my great performance when i was freelancing, i have been hired by indie studios to make A - AA games. i highly encourage anyone to atleast try freelancing to expand their skills!
Love the video, just what I needed! Just started learning Godot and Blender these past few weeks and I'm aiming to start freelancing soon. What freelancing platforms do you use and which ones do you recommend?
Glad it could help! I used Fiverr and switched to UpWork then. My recommendation is go with the one that's less crowded for your niche, and takes a lower cut.
Level design is a great category to go with. I would suggest making a 30 sec trailer with your best levels and keeping your prices a little lower than average until you get the first couple of reviews. Good luck with it!

I like the way you organize information in your videos, keep it up and good luck =)!
Background music is a bit loud, but the information is invaluable! BTW, the music isn't "bad" just a bit loud for me.
Appreciate your feedback, will keep it in mind

if i may ask what made you to switch to upwork? and what platform do you think is better when starting?
It was Fiverr, actually, and I'd say the best to start with would be the one with the lowest competition and cut.
