+Karen Balmbro I have not done this yet but I think this is how it should work. Before you unplug it go into the settings of Google Home app and go to the device. Then select Forget network. Then take it to their house, connect to WiFi on your phone, plug in the Home and then you should be able to connect it to their WiFi. And then it should work like normal. Then repeat to bring back to your place.
You cannot make groups on Chromecast yet but you can make groups with your Google home and Google home Mini devices so you can play music throughout your home! I'm not a great teacher but just Google "how to set up home groups on Google home" and that should set you up!

Simply Philosophy! That is odd but this might be the reason. When using the phone the Chromecast preloads what you think it will watch and starts with less buffer. Then Google Home doesn't have that. Does it ever get up to full quality?
+DerpyGamer so you will not be able to do commands from the Google Home to the TV with the Samsung Smart TV. I have been able to cast TH-cam to my Samsung TV through my phone but you will need to use the TV remote to access the apps and other content.

+david hughes It depends what phone you have. If you have Android you can go into the Menu of the Google Home app and cast your phone audio to the Mini and play it that way. The other option is to pair through the Mini via a Bluetooth connection that will work with iPhone or Android. Just say, "Hey Google, Pair Bluetooth Device."
Hi Bret I have a Samsung s7 I can get my phone to play through the speaker via blutooth I was wondering if I could set up a playlist on my phone of my stored mp3 and then just say hey Google play my playlist but it seems you need a subscription to do this

Go with the standard Chromecast device. You can go with the Chromecast Ultra which supports 4K resolution but it is more expensive. The Chromecast Audio is primarily for music.

+Thagirion9 1. When the Chromecast is not doing anything that is when you will see the backdrop. Are you able to change the default input of your TV? I have mine set to when I turn on the TV I instantly see the Chromecast. You woul need to stop casting Netflix and then it will go the backdrop. 2. You can't make it loop. The best option is to create a Google Photos or Facebook album and put it as the backdrop and remove other albums you don't want to see. That should loop with no problem.
Thanks for the reply. I will try that out. Yes my chromecast is built in so I have the option of the different HDMI ports and then smartcast which is the chromecast. I guess I have to not be in netflix for it to do that. Ok thanks. Seems like the problem is I don't have enough on my Google photos then. I love the space and earth pics so that helps and I have turned off some of the ones of the art/statues as I found those boring.
Wonder why this channel isnt more relevant. Your kinda on the google home mini channel but more tech seperated from this stuff would possibly grow your channel more. Its actually sad how daily minecraft streamers have 20k+ subs when your at 18k. They only spend like 50 bucks on a mic and use free editing and recording softwares while you spend your money on tech for each video and buy HD Cameras
