Remember Rob, GW said certain units are "unlocked" by certain units. Can't remember the official name but otherwise they become lose. I belive that the rule we've seen will be allowing any unit into their regiment rather than from a list. GW eluded to it before so it must be that
Skragrott now should have the Keyword: “Shelf” It looks like they just show how they nerf the 3 biggest warscrolls of the 3rd edition for Gloomspite. And don’t think this article was meant for gitz players at all
Hey Rob ! First, you're the best and your videos are always a glowy moment in the day ! Concerning, what I see and as a Gitz player : - Skragrott : Underwhelming for sure. No bonus to cast/unbind, no Bad Moon Light and no command point bonus...only losses and no benefits. I hope there will be a similar loss for this already super-costy piece. - Squig herd : I use to play 24 x2 in many games and they are strong as hell : they tarpit, they kill, they come back. So I really understand the loss of 1 Health. The only thing I REALLY don't like on their warscrolls are the Beast debuff : not only because it makes this unit worth questionable but because that means every "animal-like" creature in the game should have the same (oh, my monster is score 1?). They should have remove that and change the "Squig gone wild" from Mortal wounds to Auto-wound (on a 4+ perhaps). - Gobbapalooza : 3+ for that kind of ability is strange : why? We are talking about venoms, dances and hypnosis, not something depending on the magic winds. Gamewise, it's just a frustrating mecanics : if you can't use it, your unit is (almost) useless for the turn... - Rockgut troggoths : it's a spearhead warscroll so I don't know what will change for a 2000 game for example but I have nothing to say against it. Throwing boulder stats are more coherent (they are boulders not fireballs) and they kept the nice profile with 2 attacks at rend -2 damage 3. Love all troggoths so very glad about these guys. My hopes : 1) Don't forget the spiders !! Araknarok should do big damages for once ! 2) Fanatics and sporeplattas are amazingly cool and fun : don't make them weak ! 3) Get rid of damage D6 on the Troggboss attacks, Trugg attacks and the Huge Fang-filled Gobs for the Mangler Squigs (D3+2 or 3 is more realistic for such weapons)
As a Squig player I was feeling a little down when I saw the faction focus. Really appreciate hearing your input and shining a positive light on things
Im really hoping the other squig units will still be a fun and the herd more fun than it looks like atm, but I can't help but feel let down compared to all the other amazing stuff we have seen I feel squig herds are gonna drop a lot in points, their hp went from 2 to 1, movement went from d6+5 to d6+3, control is basically 0, and they can't receive any buffs beside all out attack and +1 attack if they charge The moonlight basically does nothing for them it just gives you a 40k reroll
@@SpooKimi I’m gonna have to rethink my army, sneaky snufflers and the squigboss are going to have to be great for my current set up to work properly. Squigs seem like a screen at best. - powerful screen, but still a screen.

They should have made Gobbapalooza so that you could do one ability on a 2+, 2 abilities on a 3+, 3 abilities on a 4+ and so on. Or some variation of that. Random is fine, but let them go big or go home. They could have also said you can do as many abilities as you have models left in the unit, but roll a dice for each ability used and on a 1 suffer D3+1 mortal wounds or something fun like that.
As a GLOOMSPITE GIT myself! Living in my Dankhold apartment I really am a fan of what we have seen so far! The gobbapalooza seems risky but that is part of the fun of this army imo! It’s a crazy fun time and I can’t wait to delve into 4ths rules! Also I agree I would love more info on the TROGGOTH, spiders, gobbos and squigs! And more of the wolf rider gobbo faction!
To be honest i'"m disappointed, skaven and Storm cast seems pretty overturned (especially skaven shooting hero and unit out of the table with billion of attacks). Istead goblin are pretty bad so far skragroth have no more moon aura around him, have no more +1 to cast, gobbapaluza now have an ability but you have to roll 3+ pretty shit and unreliable. And worst of all you can bring bavk. Units from the shrine but with 14 life and just crap 4+ save people can shot it sout of the table turn 1 and squig herd just move 3+D6 goblin looks pretty shit
@@YuriGualeri-t5q u know ur not wrong, I agree they are going high focus on the skaven and stormcast and probably cuz the 4th edition starter set. I hope there is gonna be more fun goodness in the rules than what’s shown and they just showed us the initial fun but understated rules
Here's something I never understand about GW's rules design: If an ability is random - i.e. you have to roll a 3+, 4+ or whatever for it to take effect - that ability should be very powerful. Because it is not reliable. So seeing the Bad Moon STILL being random about if it moves whilst other armies have their battle traits active all the time just baffles me. Look at the SCE Ruination chamber. They can shrug off enemy abilities on the roll of a 4+. Unreliably ability, powerful if it actually triggers. Now look at the Gobbapalooza. They used to just give their buff to a unit in 12". Now it's within THREE inches and only if you roll a 3+. And if the ability does take effect it isn't even all that powerful. I get the whole design idea of "Haha, Goblins are so random, let's give them a lot of random dice rolls!" but it feels like a big disconnect between having to roll for your abilities and then only getting a mediocre result if you succeed on the roll. Obviously it is too early to say anything conclusive about the Gitz as an army. And don't get me wrong, I'll always love my horde of backstabbing lunatics. I just hope we don't get "Index: Random Dice Rolls". Also, please GW make my Gitz mean! I don't need alpha strike Squigs with two wounds that nuke any unit they touch. Gitz can be mediocre in combat. But give them some real nasty abilities to make up for it! Make the army actually play like in the lore.
We can say they are going to be bad, skragroth got nerfed to the ground, squig nerfed to, gobbapaluza nerf and the worst of all the only way to bring back units is the moon that will die turn 1 by shooting
@user-nk9ig5wt2c, you still can't. we don't know points. The entire index of spells artifacts and units, the rest of the other armies, it's way way too early to make and definite claims on anything
still excited for 4th edition.....but not so much my gloomspite gitz after this article dropped lol but great coverage as always. thanks for the breakdowns
My best Sigmar friend is a Gitz superfan. He's got every model for the army, painted them himself, and he even has a Loonboss moon mask that he can wear over his head. I've been on the receiving end of many a Gitz stampede and struggled many times. I'm certain most Sigmar players have, since they were consistently one of the most dominant armies in 3rd. This article feels almost like a hit piece saying that GW has very strongly prioritized keeping them balanceable by points changes. A lot of the abilities are more tame, and Squig Herd is... Almost useless now? At least compared to its 3e incarnation. I'm not being hyperbolic here when i say that Gitz player morale is understandably low since they were given very little light here (and we know how much they love light). However, i think that for the health of Sigmar as a whole, this is good, since Gitz has been a very "solved" army for a long time. GW hit them with multiple brutal FAQs and points hikes and they're still doing decently well, but again, i think that this article's audience is to people who have played against Gitz. And it's worth remembering a key quote from the article on Monday: A LOT of things are going to be toned down compared to their 3e counterparts but this is because everything is weaker. This is good long-term meta health but it also really really sucks to experience
I totally agree. I had a discussion with a gitz friend of mine after the article dropped and they were just a bit disappointed given how good the Lumineth and Stormcast stuff looked and then to see the gitz have consistently 6+ save, poor stats and fairly toned down abilities made them worried for their ability to play into other armies. The point they made was along the lines of “if this is consistent in the new Gitz rules, how do we play them into an army of 3+ save decent rend stormcast with a 20 wound dragon or Yndastra nuking mangler squigs and Arachnaroks. Or Lunineth with their super tough stone guard and Move-shoot-move cavalry who can ignore ward saves…the only decent save some of our units have are ward saves. So I totally get players’ sadness right now, out of everything seen so far I think it’s fair to say Gitz look the worst off.
I don't understand the companion keyword, friendly abilities can't change the Stat line of the attack but they can receive the +1 rend on the attack? I'm a tad confused ngl
I still really dislike the randomness of the badmoon rule, but I'm heartened by the fact that it's not really very impactful for my preferred army style (Gitz). The Squig buff is fine, mainly because it'll be most useful in the first two turns, when you can count on the moon being where you want it. Ironically the Trogg buff is the worst. It's great and you'll want it every turn, but you can't count on the moon being where you want it in later turns!
If you bring back a unit at half strength like say a reinforced unit of squigs, can you bring on 4 hurders and 8 squigs then bring that unit back up to full reinforced capacity or are you limited to 2 hurders and 10 squig for the rest of the game for that unit?
Amazing job as always with these videos! Wish I could say the same about gitz...Weird choice of warscrolls to show off, when they're just less interesting repeats of current warscrolls, especially gobbapalooza. Also, how often are we going to see that command for a half strength replacement unit?
I'm a *huge* Gitz fan, it was my first army and it'll always hold a special place in my heart. That being said, I think not restricting the Know-Wotz roll might result in people taking a cloud of 40 Shootas and 3 Gobbapalooza so they can give them up to Rend 3 on their Bows.
Honestly it’s looking like the only viable tactic from what we’ve seen. They’ve nerfed everything so hard that going insane horde mode may be the only way. Troggs just ok. Squigs decimated. Just take 200 grots and hope for the best.
As much as I'm all for the new edition Im starting to worry a bit that the simplification process is coming at a cost of the loss of flavour and power. The majority of warscrolls we've seen so far have been nerfed quite a lot & many have lost abilities that made them seem more characterful & unique. Just my thoughts 🤔
I feel like the answer is no. But if a unit of 20 + herders squigs dies and you use the shrine to bring 10 + herders back can you then use the herders to start returning that unit back to full strength?
The article mentions Spider Riders multiple times. But the minis haven't been available for forever. Add in the retirement of the big spider, and other weird things. Can we assume the Gloomspite are getting a Spider focused refresh?
There is definitely a lot more flavor in the rules, but it’s definitely a worse army based off what they’ve showed us. Remember though, bravery is gone and that was our biggest issue, so something has to be adjusted. Gobbapalooza is too risky, unless it’s a very cheap unit. Excited that rockguts are basically the same and the potential war machine on the way.
That'd be disappointing if so. I have two painted ale guzzlers in my own army, and I'd really prefer not have to start a bloody gargant army to use them again. :/
I have not played Gitz in competition, but I am building an army, based on battlereports was aiming for the more Quig based build, it seems that will be a hard nut to crack, it might be a whole new army build going forward, cant capture and no saves is a bummer of magnitude. Hero also seems debuffed as well as the almighty GobbaPalooza. Maybe the spiders will have to rise to the challenge??? Definately a less exciting feeling compared to the skaven (favorite faction for me - soo) and other armies reveals ....
Hey Rob, what’s the largest piece of food you’ve ever found in your beard. Have you ever found a spaghetti letter? Or a big hunk of ferrero rocher? I guess I’m asking, how flavourful is your facial hair? (I’m guessing quite)
It's a shame the number of dice rolled is based off the *unmodified* casting roll but it's still a strong spell and Skragrott still seems good but I'd hope he'll be cheaper now that he's lost his aura of counting as the Bad Moon which was his main appeal for me at least.
My only criticism is I think the gobbapalooza should’ve had 5 abilities to choose from. 1 ability for each sculpt. Picking only 1 ability is fine that’s reasonable
As a Gitz player I'm terrified their squig nerf is going to reduce hoppers and bounderz to 1 wound as well. Part of what makes Gitz fun is the unit variety and if they nerf the other squigs as well it will devolve into just a troll faction.
Great vid as always. Unfortunately they seem to just have shown scrolls that were nerfed heavily, would have prefered something to be hyped up about rather than just looking at everythint they lost. A strange choice for the faction article
I have to say, my favorite changes in all of AoS 4 so far have been the to hit/to wound ones. Instead of the "this is an elite unit so it has to have 3+/3+" seeing the trolls being 4+/2+ is just such a flavour win. That was something that really started to bother me in the current adaptation
Anyone else noticing that the GW team spoke about ‘fixing rend’ as it had climbed too high and everyone had it, yet every unit shown for aos 4 has 1-2 rend……..
Yeah this index is a nerf for Gitz as it stands, so will box my squigs up and patiently wait until their 4th tome comes out with this impending squigapult.
Sad about the lack of depth in this addition so far. I'm all for simplified rules, I think some of the core rules are genuinely exciting for interactive gameplay but the warscrolls feel like the biggest scoop of vanilla poo
I’m so down on this reveal. Everything is worse. Show me a positive? The beast issue is massive for those using a squig army because those squigs are your battle line! Jeez what a mess. Even trolls are worse. I would also say, they just made this faction quite good for high skill players…which I’m not sure about. I’m not sure why Skragrott got nerfed so bad, but jeez I actually started my army for the gabopalooza and I can’t see a reason to ever take them again! Please someone…tell me something positive other than bravery is gone.
I knew everything was gonna get somewhat nerfed but I feel kinda the same after seeing the article as a squig player, the bad moon doesn't even give a nice buff anymore it's almost a requirement so squigs aren't slower than everything else I'm really hoping once we get to play it the game will prove otherwise but atm it seems like such a letdown compared to all the other stuff looking really cool
I have 22k points worth of gloomspite gitz and i havent played in years, i dont really care what new rules they make as i know ill only get to enjoy them for 3 months then be at the bottom for 2 or 3 years.
Your content makes me want to get in to this game, build all the armies, meet everyone in the community and dive into to tournaments. And GW's treatment of their fans and their financial decisions, makes me want to walk away
As a Gitz player im sad. Everything got nerfed HARD, except rock troll. Squig heard with a 6+ save and 1 wound will be gone before they get to fight, they will not come back cuse the Loonshrine got peppered with shooting turn 1 and 2 and is destroyed. I don't see mush posetive in this article, we got lots more to see so i HOPE for all my Gitz heart that the rest will make up for this
Shame the battle trait basically doesn't exist randomly. Combined with the (ostensibly) stripped back warscrolls a lot of the mechanical diversity of playing Gitz is under threat.
Ive never seen a spell affecting enemy units wholly within range. This sneaky distraction seems susceptible to enemy stretching his units just to be not wholly within. And no mage in this army is a fighter. I really dont like it. It should stay as it is now in gobbapalooza's fungoid cloud spell.
Skraggy nerfed, lost the +1 to cast and his warscroll spell is now 7+ instead of 3+. I cannot be mad really, the spell was bonkers in AOS3. I am so salty they butchered Gobbopalooza. Not only lost a cast and their warscroll spell, they made the ability a 3+ roll instead of it just picking it to go. Losing both the spells and making the ability unreliable is a step too far imo. It is just a 15W goblin shaman with no warscroll spell and an ability where sods law means it won't proc when you need it to. Squig herd not really nerfed the recursion of it so can see it being bonkers still.
Dog you know the battle traits, one subtraction rule, one spell, and 4 warscrolls, let's calm down and wait to see the rest of it before we say it's gutted
New player getting into GSG, looks like 4th Ed is gonna reward mixed cavalry GSG. Been hearing loads of doom and GLOOM from current players, still excited regardless. I think the Skraggy is still gonna be a good include depending on cost.
As a GSG player, this reveal was not good. Nothing revealed was excitingly “new” and all of the scrolls are worse versions than their previous rendition. I’m hoping the totality of the army is better but this wasn’t as exciting as either the Skaven or Stormcast previews. I’m currently not hopeful and quite disappointed.

An additive bonus keeps it sane, while multiplicative/multiplier would get out of hand quickly...

Seen a lot of doom and gloom about skragrott but being a wizard (2) seems really really good this edition
I can't wait for the new edition to come out. Still focusing on Worlds first, but this is hard 😁
I'm really excited for the Nighthaunt tomorrow and really looking forward to Slannesh. But 4th might convince me to play a Destruction army for once
I feel like the answer is no. But if a unit of 20 + herders squigs dies and you use the shrine to bring 10 + herders back can you then use the herders to start returning that unit back to full strength?
Didnt think so... cause the max. size from the unit is 10+ not 20+.
The article mentions Spider Riders multiple times. But the minis haven't been available for forever. Add in the retirement of the big spider, and other weird things. Can we assume the Gloomspite are getting a Spider focused refresh?
it was only 1 big spider, all the arachnarok variants are still in
There is definitely a lot more flavor in the rules, but it’s definitely a worse army based off what they’ve showed us. Remember though, bravery is gone and that was our biggest issue, so something has to be adjusted. Gobbapalooza is too risky, unless it’s a very cheap unit. Excited that rockguts are basically the same and the potential war machine on the way.
Do the gobbapalooza still get two level 1 wizard? if so still useful for the unlimited spell even if you mess up the 3+
one level 1
@@thehonestwargamerstreams oh damn, hope they are cheap
Looking forward to the Spiderfang!
The article made it seem like they no longer have ale guzzler giants.
That'd be disappointing if so. I have two painted ale guzzlers in my own army, and I'd really prefer not have to start a bloody gargant army to use them again. :/
Not an AoS player/collector but I've been eyeing the Gitz for a while now.
This is "dripping" with flavor! 😅
FULL.OF
I have not played Gitz in competition, but I am building an army, based on battlereports was aiming for the more Quig based build, it seems that will be a hard nut to crack, it might be a whole new army build going forward, cant capture and no saves is a bummer of magnitude. Hero also seems debuffed as well as the almighty GobbaPalooza. Maybe the spiders will have to rise to the challenge??? Definately a less exciting feeling compared to the skaven (favorite faction for me - soo) and other armies reveals ....
Just stay away. Paint up the models you like, but the army is looking super frustrating.
Kruleboyz players: I'm gonna poison dat zoggin moonshrine
WHERE ARE MY SPIDERS???!!!
They are migrating to the Old World
Best AOS show! U "sell" 4ed better then the GW ;) im soo hyped
Great video
If we're getting Warmachines, please let it be Sky Pirates!
Hey Rob, what’s the largest piece of food you’ve ever found in your beard. Have you ever found a spaghetti letter? Or a big hunk of ferrero rocher? I guess I’m asking, how flavourful is your facial hair? (I’m guessing quite)
Spiders still a thing! Woot!
The simplification of the Gobbopalooza makes me hopeful that the Humanpalooza will also be simplified.
that is amazing
You are!!!
Huge squigs always sound fun.
Troggs count as 2 and are 5 wounds. Age of sigmar has peaked.
Like if you think Rob only owns black tshirts

Do you have a portfolio of stock images my friend? 😂
As a Gitz player I'm terrified their squig nerf is going to reduce hoppers and bounderz to 1 wound as well. Part of what makes Gitz fun is the unit variety and if they nerf the other squigs as well it will devolve into just a troll faction.
That’s exactly what is happening.
I just started printing a Truggoth army after my BoC were canned.
Brilliant
So dank
Great vid as always. Unfortunately they seem to just have shown scrolls that were nerfed heavily, would have prefered something to be hyped up about rather than just looking at everythint they lost. A strange choice for the faction article
I have to say, my favorite changes in all of AoS 4 so far have been the to hit/to wound ones. Instead of the "this is an elite unit so it has to have 3+/3+" seeing the trolls being 4+/2+ is just such a flavour win. That was something that really started to bother me in the current adaptation
I agree and love that flavour!!!!!!
Anyone else noticing that the GW team spoke about ‘fixing rend’ as it had climbed too high and everyone had it, yet every unit shown for aos 4 has 1-2 rend……..
Fly me to the moon ...
I knew everything was gonna get somewhat nerfed but I feel kinda the same after seeing the article as a squig player, the bad moon doesn't even give a nice buff anymore it's almost a requirement so squigs aren't slower than everything else
I'm really hoping once we get to play it the game will prove otherwise but atm it seems like such a letdown compared to all the other stuff looking really cool
Did we read the same book?😂 where was the part about the moon being cheese??
It was a Wallace and gromit reference
@@thehonestwargamerstreams lol my mistake thanks
I hope they flesh out all the factions with terrain and manifestations. Why can't orcs have nice things?
I have 22k points worth of gloomspite gitz and i havent played in years, i dont really care what new rules they make as i know ill only get to enjoy them for 3 months then be at the bottom for 2 or 3 years.
Your content makes me want to get in to this game, build all the armies, meet everyone in the community and dive into to tournaments. And GW's treatment of their fans and their financial decisions, makes me want to walk away
MY GOODNESS, JUST LOOK AT THE GOBBAPALOOZAS FLAVOUR!
THE FLAVOUR
Spice Melange!
It's the same flavor.... but less
As a Gitz player im sad.
Everything got nerfed HARD, except rock troll.
Squig heard with a 6+ save and 1 wound will be gone before they get to fight, they will not come back cuse the Loonshrine got peppered with shooting turn 1 and 2 and is destroyed.
I don't see mush posetive in this article, we got lots more to see so i HOPE for all my Gitz heart that the rest will make up for this
Killable loon shrine alone makes the army almost unplayable. It looks like only trogs will be viable.
🍄
I can’t be the only one whose life gets a lot more difficult depending on where the moon is? Am I right lads??
I was 😂 when i heard that loonshrine is free. 40 GBP and then its free
Soo, they guttered my army...which is fun
Dog you know the battle traits, one subtraction rule, one spell, and 4 warscrolls, let's calm down and wait to see the rest of it before we say it's gutted
@@gstellar96 right. they showed the squig trait. the primary battle line and the primary leader unit. all lost a ton of fun and character.
Opening a chowda house called The Clammy Dank
Squigs got nerfed I think
The flavour is pretty intense right now
New player getting into GSG, looks like 4th Ed is gonna reward mixed cavalry GSG.
Been hearing loads of doom and GLOOM from current players, still excited regardless.
I think the Skraggy is still gonna be a good include depending on cost.
Gitz look pretty shit in this preview skragroth and squig heard nerfed to the ground
I love my gitz but this seems actually horrible
I don't like you, bit I liked the video, ahahhaa
so far not looking good. Nighthaunt buffed quite well, Gitz nerfed heavily
