I live my life in mortal terror of ever running into Kate McKinnon in person. I think just her resting state of charisma would incinerate me. If we made eye contact I would completely unravel. I don't even know what that means in this context. I had to invent a new term for it.
As you likely know, both Hader (as Stephon) & Mulhaney speak of how John would CHANGE the cue cards (for the live performance) from those words which were presented during the dress rehearsal and before....such that Hader was NOT expecting the words he had to read. I love the friendship...the platonic love between these two.
I love watching these, so of course the algorithm keeps recommending 'em to me. This one I easily love the most! A lot of footage from my absolute favourites (especially Cecily Strong, Aidy Bryant, Bill Hader and Fred Armisen) and veeery little from the ones that aren't really my humor. Well done, internet person!
During the Aidy and Kate skit with the rope, the audio from another clip (that’s muted) of Vanessa as Snow White plays over it. I can’t fix it so just ignore it lmao
To Kassidy Aaren: I want you to know that I laughed with such delight for 35+ minutes, that I tinkled in my Depends! (Not that there's anything wrong with that...) Thank you for a great compilation of SNL clips. And lastly, I love your first and last names, as they "carry" within them a beautiful poetic sound. ~drs (07/28/24)
With respect to the TH-camr's video "title" that includes the part "tinkle my britches," I love such silly references. Even though my daughter is 39 years old (and I am only 75), she is still quite delighted with my "Invention" of a newspaper columnist I call T.P. Ryder, who makes up all of these play-on-word stories that are printed in ink, and in small letters, on usually about the first two feet of a fresh roll of toilet paper which, of course, (then) gets hung on the dispenser spindle. So when she comes to visit me, and soon needs to go tinkle, I hear this loud guffaw coming from the other side of the bathroom door! I even taped a note up on one of the bathroom walls where my daughter is asking this question: "Dad, is T.P. Ryder your 'Alter Peego?'" If you are a person who does not appreciate the beauty that comes with our language's unique ability to alter meanings, to create play on words--including puns, then urine a heap of trouble. ~ And here is the kind of delightful joke that might come about on a surprise occasion in my classroom, which five times a day would be adorned with "eager-to-learn" (Yeah, right!) teenagers: A Teenager from France is visiting here in America where, presently, they have a grand opportunity to ride on a wild roller coaster at our county fair. So EXCITED at being on such a thrilling ride, at one fortuitous point our French teen yells out at the top of their voice, "Oui! Oui!" "Oui!" "Oui!"~ which was clearly heard by the operator of the roller coaster ride. But when it came to a halt, and the French teenager was getting ready to exit the car, the operator said angrily to the teen, "DID YOU DARE TO GO WEE--WEE IN THAT CAR?!" Well, such as it is; but at least I had minimal problems with discipline issues during the course of the school year! Plus it helps to also love your students....
I had someone wink at me like at least five times yesterday, and it wasn't even at bad jokes or or anything. At the end I thought it might be just an eye twitch, except he was deliberately looking at me when it happened.
yes, excellent selection...most clips too short. fast is good, but only when one has seen the skit does a clip become reasonably accessible. u got tons of competition....some may prefer this version of clipping sketching skitzes.
A lot of sketches take watching the entire sketch to understand why the punchline is funny. These are ones that don’t need a lot of context for it to be funny

Yeah, they were too short. I didn't know or care what was happening. I'd like to see them longer. I feel the first year of SNL (1970s) and their actors are the best, altho I like Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Keenan, and another one.
SNL "JUMPED the Shark" when it began to incessantly use the Actor Fake laugh! Sometimes it's Real but not like most of what SNL throws out there like a dog treat! Gee! I crack myself up! Shtic! It's insulting to see this terrible attempt to manipulate the audience! What are we? 5 yr olds?
Bill Hader broke on purpose. It wasn't funny and still isn't. SNL would go up several points in quality if their cast could keep a straight face during skits and the Weekend Update. Yet, someone THINKS that the audience loves the breaking of character. They also love WalMart.
If you watch MadTV during most of its run, skits are (mostly) fully executed and, performed. Crass and edgy but dead on point and relevance in what they are parodying, with purpose in writing for societal or political commentary. Basically like TV Funhouse all the time.
I’m over the thinking it’s funny when the cast breaks-up Once, about 46 years ago, Carol Burnett made Vicki Lawrence laugh during a sketch and that was real novel. Now, in the year 2024, it is not. It’s frigging boring! Jesus! Heidi Gardner with Beavis and Buttface was great, in part because Heidi doesn’t usually break. Ever. The worst offender is Bill Hader. It’s so not funny to watch you attempt to say your lines, then cover your mouth and laugh - unable to get the lines out- because you’re so funny, we love to see you break character because you’re so enamored of your hilariousness 452 thousand times! You’re an actor. Act. Again, watching you laugh has really, REAALY lost its charm.
I think there is often way too much breaking character, especially with Fred Armisen and often Jimmy Falon too. Seems very unprofessional to me. Wonder what Lorne Michael's thought about all of it.

That is not a high bar. I could make Hader break by standing there silently. All I'd have to do is look at him and say, "Bill, don't laugh."
