CYNIC mastermind Paul Masvidal comments: "I invite you to sit back, close your eyes, and listen to 'Mythical Serpents' as a fully realized piece of music. No phones or screens necessary, just the power of sound communicating directly into the ears of your heart. In the coming weeks, Cynic will be revealing further details on the constellation that is 'Ascension Codes.'"

It's amazing to have been there from the demo days over 30 years ago, watching them open for Death in a little bar or an all day metal fest at the Beacham in Orlando. They were raw, heavy and so wonderfully aggressive. To see and hear the transformation over the years has been nothing short of mind numbingly beautiful. Cynic is now a genre to it's own. The music is to be felt with all the senses. If heaven has a soundtrack, Cynic composed it.

The weight of having lost two of our friends In both of the seans can be heard and felt in this, and leaves us with a sense of hope of whats to come In the future with cynic and that Sean and Sean remain with us through every listen of their stamps in time that are their songs and contributions to this (and other) band(s).

I can't believe having listened to rock and alternative for 30 years last Monday was the first time I heard of Cynic and absolutely love this album. I was in a really dark place and was heading out to see a punk ska band called Spunge play at my local and walking up to the venue listening to this had me dancing in the street, throwing fists pumps in the air. I was also really high after smoking some bongs so felt in a very special place... 'Pregnant by an Anunnaki' what a great line!

I've always been a fan of Cynic's death metal era on there demos and upon listening to Focus i was expecting a brutal death metal experience but as i listened I'll admit i didn't like the album upon listening. But i listened to it twice more in a row and realized how
genuinely i awe i was with the album. You guys are pure talented
geniuses at your craft and i thank you for the music you continue
to make despite the loss of both Sean's.
This new track is mind blowing and they would be most impressed
at what you created here and i cannot wait to hear the album in full.

Loved it, feels kinda actualized, more simple and emotional, but with that partícula Cynic flavor, thanks for the music.

    When amazing meets epic:
    Dance of chromosomes
    ET DNA
    Migrate, toward respective poles
    A language fabricates
I turn the picture upside down
    It's all symmetrical
    The air we breathe
    Landscapes we see
    A master of transformation
    A Mythical Serpent's dream
    Manakari spirits
    Hidden from the world
    Double helixes
    Fractalizing a star birth
    Pregnant by an Annunaki
    In a holographic field
    The air we breathe
    Landscapes we see
    Cellular metabolism
    A Mythical Serpent's dream
    I am the veins
    Of a human hand
    Solar system organism
    Our galactic history unsung
    The air we breathe
