- A rotary kiln is a pyroprocessing device used to cause a chemical reaction or physical change in a solid material through the application of high temperature.
Materials produced using rotary kiln include:
Cement
Refractories
Metalworking
Titanium oxide
Alumina
Vermiculite
Iron ore pellets etc.
The basic Components of a rotary kiln include:
The shell,
Refractory lining
Support tires and rollers
Drive gears
Heat exchangers.
Four stages in the manufacture of Portland cement:
Crushing and grinding the raw materials
Blending the raw materials in the correct proportions
Burning/calcining the mixture in a kiln
Grinding the clinker together with some gypsum.

Dear may I ask how many cycle before the refractory is replaced?thanks.
No specific cycle, it depends on operation. Like any essential equipment, refractory lining should undergo regular maintenance to ensure optimal operation and longevity.
The best advise is to have a refractory engineer, perform inspection of the kiln and create a maintenance plan.
Ideally, in the space of 1-3 years, parts or the entire refractory, needs to be renewed as a result of the wear and tear.
