      @@oxhaleyfaexo it went incredibly well! I had the time of my life! I saw Cairo, Luxor, Edfu, Dandara, Abydos, Kom Ombo, Abu Simbel, Aswan, Philae, Alexandria and Sharm el Sheik. It was the trip of a lifetime and I was safe everywhere I went, traveling solo. At times tour companies sent armed guards with us to guarantee our peace of mind. I truly went all over Egypt and experienced both the adventure and luxury it has to offer. What an unbelievable time! You need to go ahead and do this; I promise they aim really high to impress. When I wasn’t wiping tears of happiness I was picking my jaw off the floor.

      Be very careful. I just got back. You may get stopped before you get to the pyramids from people claiming they work there or are government officials with their fake cards lol. They wills ask you need a carriage and that you cannot walk in. You indeed can and honestly it’s more fun to walk. Pay at the gate. Ignore everyone that comes up to you. When people ask to see your ticket at pyramids, tell them to F off.

    Actually if you want to visit alot of sites and not pay alot you should get the Luxor pass for Cairo and the Cairo pass for Cairo, if you get one you get 50% off the other . Usually tourists go to specific sites not alot of them that's why there are seperate fees.
    Most islamic sites are actually for free , the ancient egyptian ones are the more expensive sites

    This lady’s advice is not 100% right. She has some good point and some not. Yes their #1 source of income is Tourism, but they do not treat you with the utmost respect. They will try to scam and lie to you for every dollar while they smile at you. If she thinks that’s respectful, sure. I personally think the people do a poor job of making you want to come back considering it’s a country dependent on tourism. I expected to see so many tourist there, but only saw so little and that was at the Pyramids of Giza.

    I disagree about the toilets, they are far better than European toilets, although public toilets are not common. Nearly all the toilets have shattaf or/and a bidet spray to wash your private parts. So when you leave the toilet you feel lovely and clean. I have installed a shattaf in my toilet in England as I am very happy with the Egyptian toilets.
    Another thing they usually will not accept EG pounds for the visa, only US Dollars, Pounds Sterling and maybe othe hard currencies. 25 dollars at the moment or its equivalent.

You pay with a foreign currency besides you're protected by your embassy, being a tourist. • @OctoPedes
      @OctoPedes 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's not a realistic statement. I'm not sure what you think the embassy does for the average tourist but rewinding the clock and fixing something that happens isn't it one of them. I'll add onto what I was saying on another board. it's more than "you being oppressed." It's about the impact you create when you expose others to an uncovered image of you-- they are not raised to see as the norm outdoors. It's not pretty to see that you can actually make a well-meaning, unassuming man suddenly really feel quietly uncomfortable b/c you're tired of the heat and decide to wear your deep scoop neck T. No bueno for real.

      Do not dress "how you want". This person could have found herself in very real danger if she were lost from her group.
      The logic of "they will treat you well because they want you to return" is not logical at all.
      Keep in mind people do not usually blog the really bad stuff.
      Water bottles can be treated with a glue that makes them reseal and crack. The residual smell is almost unnoticeable and smells like cheap plastic. Take a life straw bottle and an extra filter and ALWAYS pour your water into that.

    • @OctoPedes
      @OctoPedes 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@InviteTheLightReadings I agree. You can tell the level of naivety a person possesses when they go into a country saying "you need to assimilate to my norms". You are minimally being offensive and could contribute to your travel group experiencing more issues than you realize. I know several instances that inappropriately dressed women have accidentally been separated from a group and their clothing contributed to the problems they encountered. I know of several more than a man in the group was either injured or arrested, well, having to protect a little miss crop top.
      This isn't Berkeley we are talking about and they don't CARE what your professor or woke social media friends tell you the world should be.
      With that said, embrace the culture first, so you can talk from a much more experienced view later.

    God loves you so much that He sent His Holy Son Jesus from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins, and to be put into a tomb 3 days and rise from the dead the third day, and He (Jesus) went back up to heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, and unbelieving, and abominable, & murderers, and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent.

      You most likely will, but it’s totally your decision! I definitely felt more comfortable being more covered up.

      you can always layer up with jacket etc for comfort. Anytime you are visiting a Muslim country or a very strong religious country e.g. Thailand, Cambodia, even a trip to the Vatican, they expect tourists to not expose shoulders, with knee length skits or Bermuda shorts

      It's perhaps better if you wear them at sea towns/cities/resorts whether the Mediterranean or red sea side
