Thank you for your straightforward and informative video! I also enjoy using public transport to get to/from airports. I have used the local bus in Singapore to get to the city from Changi Airport for only $2 SGD, as well as the local train service from Narita Airport to Tokyo central. A great way to save money and also get a glimpse of the local life.
As a Melbournian, I have used the 901 bus many times. But do not forget to buy a MYKI public transport card at the airport. Just ask someone who looks official for directions or as stated buy the card at Terminal 4 and add on $5 for your fare. . This bus route provides a great tour of metropolitan Melbourne, visiting all main shopping centres and train stations that centre out from the city. This service is rarely used by the general public to get to the airport and I have never experienced it being jam packed full. For a real adventure, take the 4 hour trip to Frankston, then train to the city. Great trip for people watching!
Excellent video Charlie. You have a new subscriber! I usually catch the Skybus to Southern Cross (mainly with my 11 year old grandchild) and get collected by my relative. I often thought of trying that 901 bus - I will do that on my next trip soon.
Hi, I will be landing in terminal 2, do you know if there is a myki machine there to buy one? If not, is it possible to walk from terminal 2 to terminal 4? Thank you
Terminal 2 (the international terminal) also has a Myki machine. It can be found on the ground floor, which is the arrivals level. Exiting from the secure area look to your left. It is near the toilets near the door to get outside. If you have arrived from overseas you could buy your Myki there and proceed to the stop for the 901 bus.
You keep going right all the way to Terminal 4. The bus station is another building near Terminal 4. Don't forget to grab your MyKi card in Terminal 4 as the bus station doesn't have the MyKi machine
If you dont go through immigration and the ticket for both airlines are issued in the same ticket, then you dont need However, if you need to collect your luggage and re-check in for your flight, then you need a visa Again it all depends on your passport as some nationalities need transit visa. Last time I checked, only Terminal 4. It is not far to walk from Terminal 2. Also you have to pass by Terminal 4, in order to go to the bus terminal.

it's difficult to carry big luggage by taking on the bus or train?
The bus is the first stop, usually not crowded so bringing luggage on to bus and train should be fine
very good to know 🎉
