GDI has evolved soo much since, Mythos people certainly had talent to blow up the Hyperion and bring an alien sub out of the abyss. Crappy? Mid 90's, remember?
Always prefered the second one to the original, mainly because I'm afraid of the deep and also because you could right click behind doors to open em ;) Though it was a pain showing up on a terror mission with underwater weapons
Depends. In the original GDI was better because of mammoth tanks and better turrets. You may say nuclear strike but that one had a REALLY long cooldown.
@Virginityrocks Crappy? This was great CGI for the time. Damn, some movies (granted, not the big budget stuff) from the period with CGI had a lot worse effects. You have to compare the effects with what was common at the time, and for a game intro in 94/95, this was fantastic.
@i90east there are still some interesting games out there but it is true that most games are shooters but whatever I would love to see a game like the old xcoms fully hd graphics
"mayday mayday! the pizza is late! aliens have atacked the pizza guy!" "baracuda 1 launched" "maintain radio contact" *baracuda aproaches pizza guy's ship* "baracuda 1 is aproaching the pizza ship. well take a look, airlock clear" (JAKE PART ^^) "OHHH NOOO. TAKE ME OUTTA HERE. NOOOO." "jake?, jake?!, jaaaaaaake!!! whats wrong!!!?" "were too late....THEY'VE EATEN ALL THE PIZZA!" "oh no..." (i have no idea how the hell all of this came into my mind, but it somehow DID xD)
Duh -- wrong place to complain about this "old" game... i doubt you'll get any support from anybody for it. Unless you get lucky & find a recent distributor willing to fix your problems. ;)
Ahhh, those developer voice-artists.
Jake has gone berserk.
So that is what really happened to the Titanic.
Pacific Rim in less than 2 minutes.
Poor Jake...
Why did they send him alone to the dangerous place?
Budget shortage?
TFTD was a sequel to a great original gameplay concept - that's a given.
Nothing closer to reality has ever been made for the big screen - indeed! :)
love this game
@Virginityrocks u kidding me? that looks fucking amazing for mid 90s. And it had the design feeling that only masterfully good movies have.

Not to mention that I don't think submarine pilots would forget to pack diving suits in case of emergencies...

This video was made available on the CD version only.
Wouldve been a lot better if it was more like "Jake what happened?, Jake? JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!?!"
Sure he does - all XCom operatives dive along with at least Ion Armors that can sustain 25,000 meters depth!
;)
What the, my version had still frames depicting the event :\
City of Atlantis? You already went to the moon to some ancient civilization there with Egyptian Pyramids and face in the sand.

Best Deal Ever
Games used to be so interesting. Now all we get is shooters.

This video is awesome. Theme-wise, this game had great potential and it could've been a masterpiece like its predecessor. Too bad they botched it. :(
LOL @ 0:48: They attacking us in the Present and we still cruise with Steamers! *facepalm*
Heh... it seems thatnthe aliens don't give up so easily. They always have a backup plan

download it off steam very cheap and works on all windows platforms
For some reason my intro isn't animated; they are just slides. :/
Still pretty badass though.
Man the harpoons!!!!!!!!! why they dont make games like this anymore?

Some weapons only work underwater
Jake? Jake? Jake?
Do you think the Barracuda's pilot doesn't have a diving suit?
@killer21334
Hey man, just download DOSBox and you should be fine. Or buy it from Steam. It'll work there, they've fixed it.

AND A LOT SCARIER
Nope! ;)
Am I the only one who wishes this would actually happen?
meh... Enemy Unknown had a WAY cooler intro :D
