    Your reasoning are your's but they no way justify your video title. Seems like clickbait to me. I grew up in Irvine and it is perfect. CLEAN, SAFE, CONVENIENT, BEST SCHOOLS, BEST PARKS/LAKES, GREAT NEIGHBORS. I don't appreciate your title when its obviously just for views. It's nothing but misleading.

      I was just biking down one of the trails today (Im a new resident to SoCal) and stopped in Irvine for lunch. Didn't know much of anything about it but damn, it was weirdly so nice and pleasant and wondered why. Good to know it is that amazing to the locals.

    Grew up in Orange County, right on the tri border, Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa, Santa Ana, and also lived in Anaheim. back in the 70's-90's great place to grow up and live. If I was to move back, Fountain Valley, Orange, & Anaheim!!!

    Irvine has quickly become my top pick for a place to call home. I made the move from Austin, Texas, and have been blown away by how pristine everything is here. The locals are just as warm and welcoming as those in Texas, and there's never a shortage of tasty dining options or fun activities to enjoy. Plus, the cost of living is just as reasonable as it was in Austin.

    Money was not an issue for us to move to Irvine... Sure the area was super safe and super clean...It was the pretense and unfriendliness there that propelled us as a family to move out of the area...We're an Asian family btw.... Fortunately, we moved away to Spain...We were absolutely astounded by the open lovable friendly communities and cultures... Matter of fact, Europe, especially many parts of Scandinavia, the kids aren't as pretentious or mean cliques like the ones in Irvine/South OC.. My kids just love the precociously friendly kids here in Europe ...We love it!

    It’s huge. Everything is spread out. Neighborhoods are silos. The city layout discourages walking from one neighborhood to the next. A car is a must to move around within the city.
    The city is built to discourage civic and social assembly. It’s a city where one rests, but not a city where one can also experience and feel alive.
    I would describe it as a top-down, command-and-control city layout. There is an evident central-planning presence which makes it easy to navigate many and large vehicles around town. I would describe it as a dormant military base, the way the city has been planned and laid out. There’s a sense that it can be mobilized for passage, if needed.
    It’s good for a season if you’re young, or to await your last days if you’re elderly. It’s hardly a place to feel alive.

    • @livinginoc
      @livinginoc  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for tuning in and commenting your thoughts Will! Are you currently an Irvine resident or have you been in the past?

    • @thisiswill
      @thisiswill ปีที่แล้ว

      I am currently. In all fairness, and to provide some background on what experiences influence my impression, I moved into the Spectrum area a couple months ago. I moved here from San Diego, and before that I lived in San Francisco. Those are bigger cities of course, and the vibe of the neighborhoods in those cities is also more eclectic to me, and those cities don’t follow Master Plans. So I am still working on getting to know the city, the area, and I’m continuing to develop my opinion of Irvine.
