Classic Emmerdale - Marlon Proposes to Donna in Newcastle (23rd August 2005* Original Date)

The moment that all of us Emmerdale fans had tears of joy flowing down their cheeks, in this episode of Classic Emmerdale on ITV3, in which Marlon Dingle chooses Donna Windsor over the cooking competition that he missed out on (due to him loosing his knife) and decides to propose to her, and Donna says a heartwarming ‘Yes!’ just before Marlon finished his sentence, before lunging in for a hug. And if you thought that couldn’t get any better, they would of course marry in February 2006, along with Donna’s mum Viv and stepdad Bob. But sadly they would get a divorce in January 2009 after Donna had an affair with police officer Ross Kirk, which led to her leaving Emmerdale. She would make a return in 2014, but would die 5 months later by sacrificing herself to save her daughter, April.

This was such a beautiful scene, and the fact that episode started with a proposal and ended with a proposal was fantastic! 1:16 Marlon here, had me smiling from ear to ear realising how happy he's been. And the proposal itself was fantastic in my opinion, no drawn out story behind it, just a simple yes and an intimate celebration as the episode went on
