"eventually I ran out of ways to fuck it up." Well isn't that just the entire damn design process in a nutshell!
I was reading this as this line came up, awesome
This is the quality of giant million-sub youtubers and this is your FIRST video?? Simply fenomenal!
Thanks man! :)
Fr I didn't notice until it was over oh my god
Outstanding!
@stikosek Totally agree with you
That's what I was thinking
You know you've succeeded as an engineer when your creation looks like a bomb.
I'm probably taking that saying. Nice
Most of the things i make look like bombs. Am I an engineer or a terrorist?
@@Atomicbrain1034 well that one is entirely up to you bro.
Especially if you're name is Robert Oppenheimer
"The difference between Engineer and Terrorist is government support."
**looking at Lockheed Martin and Sukhoi**
The amount of work that went into this is insane. This is "StuffMadeHere" level of production/engineering.
He made me think that people would watch some of my stupid ideas ahah
More like if stuff made here and nile green had a baby
I'm unsure if that's an insult XD
@@Gregulationshe’s basically saying that your content is the best combination of educational and funny
except the idea. the idea is god level.
kinda like JLaservideo except he may be considered clickbaity but he aims for the stars anyways so I dont mind.
I’m a machinist and I love watching engineers make mistakes we would be skewered for. Also there’s something so chaotic about your design
Thanks! That is the fun part, fixing your mistakes and moving forward!
Yes! The video and the build just radiates chaotic energy all over, love it
Thanks man! Yeah I diddnt realise but apparently my method is a little chaotic XD. Maybe that's what happens when you work on something for a while alone XD
I'm a masochist and I really enjoyed how painful that was for you.
Only 446 subscribers and 4.9K views? This man deserves so much more for this video. This was a 11/10
Thanks Man! Glad you liked it. Its my first video so I'm not sure what to expect but any help getting the word out would make you my hero! :)
9 hours later: 1020 subs and 8.5k views - TH-cam algorithm doing fine :D
But totally agree, this video needs more views!
Couldn't agree more
Yeah it's doing its thing :) algorithm being a bro right now haha
Keep up the quality and I'm sure you're going to hit it big. Good to know that I've been here the early days 😁
I love the honesty here. So many people think that brains is all there is to projects like this, but the absolute bloody minded persistence is the real power here - summed up by "After I ran out of ways to fuck up..."
Loved the video, looking forward to seeing more.
Yeah it's my way of getting stuff done. Not necessarily the smartest but I'm unstoppably persistent. Thank you glad you enjoyed!
@@Gregulations Oh don't get me wrong, you're definitely a smart guy too but, coming from someone with projects of my own, problems will always come up and it's how well you recover from those (and the 100th time that a thing you thought you fixed breaks again) that matters.
100% agree. Plus that is half the fun really isn't it. Sometimes very annoying but when you get it right that dopamine hit is incredible.
@@Gregulations I love the "brute force" approach to engineering. If you try literally every possible option, one of them might work!
One of them has to work :)
When you start hobnobbing with Colin Furze, Mr Beast and Mark Rober, remember us! Seriously great effort.
If that happens remind me and I'll give get you to personally have a hobnob with them also
@@Gregulations can i come too? lol
@@sebombastic sure haha
Hobnob. Sound fun. No idea if it's something to be afraid of. With that team you would think so
Incredible work for a first video. Can’t wait to be one of those ‘I wAS tHEre’ dudes when you’re big. Cheers from an engineer in the US (and similar childhood Wallace and Gromit fan)
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed and I hope you are right. Many more to come!
I can’t wait to be one of those “I wAS tHEre” replies 😉 Keep making videos! Cheers from another engineer
No fucking way are you this small of a creator. This is the video I'd expect on a 2M+ subs channel, not on small channel ESPECIALLY their first video. You've earned my highest degree of respect sir
Thanks! Yeah it's my first video my guy! Glad you enjoyed :)
Why not, he just created awesome maschine, recorded some videos when it failed, and showed the finish product to everyone
Not sure if he made the maschine for the video, or created video for the maschine but it doesnt matter
He spent a very long time creating this maschine and its only right if he gets some fame for it
You truly are an engineer! I'm a software dev, so my solution since 2 years is to just skip breakfast. Feature doesn't work right? Just remove it and tell the customer you "streamlined the UI".
Bro, your editing skills are grossly underrated This was insanely well done.
Thanks man! And here I was thinking it kind of sucked..... Haha
what the f*ck I keep stumbling on these amazing channels with almost no views, with multi-talented, funny individuals (and great editing skills) and it keeps crushing my soul because when these dudes are struggling to get exposure how should an average person even compete
Tbf I only put my first vid up a few days ago....
Seems to me like someone at youtube finally got the algorithms somewhat right this time around. but I have gotten some weird suggestions too.. (Like "wet clothes review" 😂).
@@savagesarethebest7251 i think there is allot of people settling for crap content on youtube so thats what gets made. You wont catch me making boring BS like that hah
there's no going back, everyone's going to expect this to be your gregular quality from here on out.
Absolutely why would I back track. This is just my first atempt at you tubing haha
I made the same machine 2 months ago and i can confirm now, that I weigh 600lbs and live a fulfilling life. As the last few weeks went past me I finally went for a career shift, I work as a trashcan now. I enjoy all the different flavors i get to taste everyday. I wish you uploaded this video earlier, my dream has come true. Thank you for changing my life!
Your humour is perfect. I didn't expect to laugh so much or have so many quotes to take away from someone making an automatic cooking machine
Glad you Enjoyed, stay tuned for more madness haha
"If at first you don't succeed lower your standards until you do"
Fave quote: "If at first you don't succeed lower your standards until you do".
Bravo to your maker genius from a fellow tragic optimist.
Today I learned I'm a tragic optimist.....
Great project and filmmaking- plays like an Edgar Wright movie! Love it
He is my favourite director so maybe makes sense, I'm just a budget Edgar wright haha
Somewhere in my stash of childhood drawings is a design for a cooking robot similar to this one. It makes me so happy seeing that someone had the same idea and the skills to actually bring it to life!
Its like you reached into my psyche and pulled out one of my persistent daydream projects.
Maybe I did..........
he literally did. I had been thinking about this a little too intensely recently. except ofc my 'idea' of it is totally different... and unrealistic lol
Ah good ol' C++, the language of suffering. Loved the video dude! Now I'm hungry though. If only there was some sort of machine...
Yeah it was brutal. So glad I did it, feel like I have allot more options now :)
@@Gregulations yeah, like writing everything in assembly instead... :P
My current stance on learning C++: learn C, learn C++ classes, learn C++ templates, after a decade (-ish) of playing with C++ give up because of the standards committee's latest brilliant idea for the syntax and go back to C. Maybe try implementing a C++ killer every few years. Done, you've learned C++.
Yeah no, C is superior
@@110110010 BOOOO lol C++ all the way to the bank.
I came for the memes but stayed for the genuinely good engineering brainstorming iteration :)
Haha thanks man, glad to hear you enjoyed!
Great invention. Baked beans and eggs could be portioned into sealable plastic bags and cooked/heated sous vide (poached eggs). You could also use a roller type dispenser to butter your toast in the same way that glue is dispensed in manufacturing.
Mate, that is a real prototype and you think on people, not like big companies. Keep going!
This was one of the best engineering videos I have seen in a while. Keep spreading the word about recycling, using your old scrap metal to cook your food is NOT unsanitary, it's just a preference. I like my food to taste more organic, you know?
Thanks Man! Glad you liked it :) and 100% always got to use what you have right :)
we need you on the frontlines man this is absurdly innovative
As goofy as it is I can imagine a really compact version being great for people with disabilities
I think about automated food preparation quite often. Robot arms could actually be a realistic way of doing it, as it requires only a simple addition, as opposed to a different appliance set altogether. But the internal automated appliance is a much more intriguing avenue of thought.
I could see a future where you get a 'fridge' that holds food 'cartidges' (which could be a subscription service) that connects to an 'oven/stove.' The oven stove would connect to a dishwasher, or have a washing component built in. The fridge would have a waste cartridge chute that could separate recyclables by type. The fridge could also be able to self sort cartridges, and you only need to insert them through a single port.
Appliance repairmen could become a thing again.
You'd have a screen on the front of the fridge that could offer recipes based on what food is inside, and also taking into consideration the user's health at any one moment.
The more capable the machine, the more complicated, but there are a lot of liquid type foods that would be simpler. Omelets and pancakes for example. Most hotels have pancake makers that pop em off of a conveyer belt with just a push of a button.
So the 'stove oven' would be a center appliance, a fridge to the left, and a non refrigerated dispenser to the right. The waste cartridges could go out the back, through the wall, or to the bottom left or right. The dishwashing could also be to the right or left of the cooking unit. It would take up a lot of space, but fridges, microwaves, stoves, mixers, blenders, etc etc already take up a lot of space. This would just all be connected together.
The main goal of this shouldn't necessarily be convenience though, but optimizing health of the user, increasing recycling and decreasing waste. The convenience provided by efficiency would just be a coincidental benefit.
I think AI will displace a lot of jobs, as will automation, so at least we could get some benefit of expanding the industries of food cartridge delivery (like milk men of old) and appliance repairpeople.
Bro the jokes, pacing, delivery, and engineering are on point!
Tom Scott also brought me here. Incredible first video! Can't wait to see more of your builds!
Thanks man! Many more to come :)
it's so cool when you find a video that has a quality that fastly outpaces the number of subscribers on the channel. Very well done
Thanks! :)
Hey, so a lot of this could have been cooked with a clamshell skillet and then swept off onto a plate and then cleaned with pressurized water because as long as you don't burn it, the teflon will make it easy to rinse off and the heat will keep it sterile. Then you just need to make it so cookable ingredients get dumped onto the skillet and cooked for the right amount of time and the versatility of the skillet could also make you things like pancakes/waffles, steaks/patties, ect.
Wow!! this is such a cool project. I am really happy to have found this channel and wish you the best of luck in your future projects, I am looking forward to them
This is like a British version of Mark Rober, but like not as over budget and down to earth.
From the comical timing, to the explanations of how what you made actually works and the conversations with yourself.
This channel needs more support and I’m 200% here for it! The quality is amazing!
Ps: This is what content on TH-cam I’m here for!
Thanks man! Apriciate the support :)
I need this in my life.
Haha well your my first Patreon, so currently you have 100% chance of winning it.
Actualy?
Well not anymore now there is a few more more like 10% chance he has now
This is crazy cool. I made a video where I got industrial robots to make breakfast and I can seriously appreciate the amount of effort that you put into this!
That's so cool mate, I just checked it out and I really like the end effector changing robot that's a nice touch haha
Insane editing and production quality for such a small channel. I hope your channel gets the attention it deserves soon
This is one of the best project videos out there because how down to earth it is 😂
Thanks man! :)
stellar debut my friend.
Thanks man! :)
I genuinely thought this was from a multi-million sub channel!! Seriously great work
Bro, I was getting prepared to eat my breakfast, and your video was the first thing i saw when opened YT. This is outstanding work! Subscribed immediately
Nice to see the next generation of builder TH-camrs. I'll definitely continue to follow your journey.
Thank man, glad to have ya!
Saw you post the photos on Reddit, this is the best use of engineering and robotics this century
Wow thanks! :)
This was such a great video! I loved when you said, "I ran out of ways to @#$% it up!" That's a really cool way to look at things!
I wanted to do this for ages. Congrats, you're first. And I'm the most successful procrastinator, ever.
This is incredible! I have always wanted an auto chef ever since I seen it in wallace and grommet! The algorithim nailed this reccomendation!
Yeah it's been a childhood dream for me :) glad I'm not alone on this one
"Look at me. Look at me! I am the Wallace now."
Look at me now mommmmm
This is probably the most impressive first video that I ever watched. Well done, I'll be looking forward for more! Cheers from Italy :)
I was not expecting this to be on a channel with only 10k subscribers, you deserve so much more, such an amazing video
How, Just how is this the first Video on your Channel. It's so good. I'm so excited for more content.
You should be. Got something very fun on the way
Builds like this are always cool to see, you're giving me new video ideas!
This is so godaam awesome, not only the machine but the way the video is made too. Really fun to watch. Definitly subscribing and turning the bell. Bravo
This needs a new thumbnail and or title for the algorithm. Its criminally underviewed.
Yeah I wasn't really sure exactly best way to do this just yet but will have a look at it :) got any ideas XD
@@Gregulations I don't know if you changed it but something happened to get it recommended to me a few months after posting so somethings gone right!
Welp, there goes my two year culinary arts course certificates, I knew I should have done carpentery instead.
Oh, bro. You tugged at my heartstrings with that one. I do a lot of stuff DIY. Mostly electrical and IoT, not much mechanical. You summed the whole engineering development process up perfectly with that video. What you went through (eventually I ran outta things to fuck up) is exactly what I go through every single time. And don't worry about the spaghetti on the back. My stuff looks exactly the same. We ain't selling it. It just needs to work. Fuck it, yolo it. TH-cam taught me programming, why you knock it? There is nothing wrong with learning 6 ways to do something, even if they are all wrong.
Haha, thanks man! We clearly think alike XD
So glad to have found this channel. I wanted to do something like this commercially. Nice job!
The back of the machine is perfect
I thought so to. (everything is fine meme)
I am proud of myself for opening reddit at and checking r/robotics today
I'm glad you like it :)
The 6 empty monsters on the desk during the exxplainer is such a mood
I actually moderately cleaned up to film this..... XD
This is brilliant! Love seeing good engineers get creative. Should let us know what you do.. inspire the kids.
Here from reddit, watched the entire thing & honestly it's really good. I love the idea but it's huge(ish)
Hey, thanks! And yes it's about as small as I could make it. After the fact I did find a few ways to make it a little smaller. The best way would be to build it into a cupboard but I'm not sure I will do a V2.0 yet... Have so many other things I want to make first!
Im here before he has a million subscribers button
👇
Thanks! Hopefully :)
Just wait and see

Sameeee
yes we are better then this late follower
What a fantastic project and funny video! Looking forward to the next project
I respect that this probably cost a fortune to make, and the channel does not have the sub count to support it, so definitely a big investment but I think it will absolutely pay off. Here's to your first 100k subs in probably like one month's time lol
Amazing stuff so glad good ole algorithm gave you to my feed. #blessed
Welcome aboard. Glad you enjoyed :)
Wait I just realised I have watched you before! That's so cool :D
@@Gregulations amazed that this was your first video I am rooting for you my friend 100k subs in 2024!
Fingers crossed! :)
Brilliant, a bit of modification to the design could result in the mass redundancy of McDonald’s workers.
Thanks! But I think that may take allot more work than I'm willing to put In haha.
Dude this video is so sick!! I'm a programmer myself, and it's always hard to find motivation to start fun side projects like this. Really inspiring stuff!!
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed :) just get started! You can do it
Well done! No doubt months of work went into this one video. New subscriber!
This is evil villain level of dedication to a project that is shown for only a single episode.
Respects.
Thanks man! Only the best for you guys :)
Loved the video through and through. I lost it at "It's going great!". 😂
Fantastic video! Will note the audio is only left-ear in the patreon-shed-hats clip. But this was absolutely fantastic. Great edits, good pacing, personally I'd prefer a little more specification on the devices, but the shallower dive makes for a much more light-hearted tone and that works so well! And only your first video? No way. Where's your secret 3-million follower account? Excited to see what you do next!
A couple of months well spent ! I absolutely love your video and breakfast machine.
Thanks Man! Glad you enjoyed. Follow along you will love what I have coming up.
It really is amazing how much technology has changed culture itself. Designing a robot to cook food for you automatically at any time you wish is a wonderful idea and the fact that it is possible is completely mind blowingly futuristic!
I feel like I am so far behind for still using children from third world countries.
Awesome! Another high quality maker channel. I hope you keep making videos
Keep doing this, your videos are really good! Enjoyed watching a lot! Kind regards from Belgium!
Just discovered you because this channel was recommended for some reason! So, I…Watched it. Loved it. Liked it. Subscribed! ❤🎉🤓
Probably the best first video I’ve ever seen. Super high quality, great idea, amazing editing.
Thanks bro glad you enjoyed :)
Incredible contraption, and amazing video. Can't wait to see more content! Just proof that quality content is going to hit the algorithm and be taken to huge levels. 100k soon for sure! 🔥
Thanks! I hope so :)
Incredible, such dedication, definitely worth a subscription.
This is fucking glorious, this is truly one of those things you dream about as a little kid and you were crazy enough to make it a reality. Nothing but respect, cool as fuck.
This was amazing. I loved it so much that I'm now subscribed; and eagerly awaiting more genius projects 😊
As an aside; I truly think this has amazing potential- and could actually be refined into a marketable product. You see, most people now don't actually know how to boil an egg. Instead of needing to buy packet meals, your machine allows for a fully automated and freshly cooked meal at a significant reduction of cost! Either way, I'm excited to see what you build next!
Thanks! Can't wait to show the next thing allready! :D
This is gold. The production, humor, and storytelling are superb.
Thanks man! Apriciate it :)
Wow! I've been wanting to make something like this for so many years! Well done!
Absolute madlad! Cracking first video, earned a sub from me and I hope you get many more. Look forward to seeing what you come up with next!
This is so awesome nice job.
However I would like to point out that most metal cans have a plastic liner on the inside that will leach into the beans when heated, but life’s full of trade offs :)
Great video. I wish you the best on your endeavours. Love from Australia 🇦🇺
Wow absolutely can't believe this was your first video, the second I finshed this video I ran to your channel to watch more and was both disappointed there wasn't more but also very impressed this was your first video.

Glad you enjoyed man! many more to come just have to wait a little ;)
Absolutely phenomenal first video. Keep up the good work, mate!
Thanks! im glad you liked it :)
Holy shit man...the production quality, the explanations, and especially your incredible machine need millions more subscribers! fantastic work!
Thanks! Apriciate it man :)
Absolutely fantastic video! Well spoken, fantastic diagram use.
Thanks man! Apriciate it
Terrific job, mate! You got yourself a new subscriber.
You are so smart, funny, and talented I can’t wait for your next video!
Holy hell, this is soooo cool! Please make another video about the thing, the making of it. People want to know more!! :)
Wonderfully done! Keep the projects coming!
Will do sir :D
Homie, I loved this so much and can't wait to see what you cook up next!!
Thanks man! :) its allready underway!
Mild steel is safe for food. You just need to clean the surface to bare metal and put a few coats of seasoning on it. Many others and myself use whats known as a "baking steel" to bake all sorts of breads in home ovens, especially pizza.
Brother, not only are you so hard working and smart but also extremely funny. this was extremely entertaining to watch. loved the little explanation about the design that you gave and I enjoyed finding out what went wrong and how you fixed that. but most of all, thank you for doing this. this has always been one of my day dreams especially recently.
P.S. waiting for the future AI and hands version
Thanks man really apriciate it :) can't wait to show you the next thing I got brewing up :D
This videos quality really is over 9000!! LOVE IT, PLEASE make more of this content! :D
Many more to come good sir :)
Love the Furze/Savage/Gromit future BFFs 🤣 Tom Scott sent me, not disappointed. Everyone should have a shed...
