    Hi from the UK 🇬🇧. What a switched on young man Eric is. There is no doubt that where in the World or soil type, type of farm these people work, they are so tuned into what works for them on there various applications and listening to his thought process in his tractor choice was very interesting. Respect to you and it's great to have TH-cam.

    We have a 7220 we also use as planting an spraying tractor on our dairy farm. We love ours!!! Also my 4 year boy watches all your videos! I really appreciate your videos. Your speech with no cuss words etc is so refreshing an dont need to worry about my boy picking up bad language while watching!! Leep up the good work

    I had a 7520 mfd that had some problems, but I wasnt the first owner either. You may consider taking it to your dealer for their winter check just to make sure everything is at the correct parameters. At 5000 hours check the condition of the turbo, remove the tubes from intake and exhaust check for any oil leak around the seal, and spin the rotor to check for roughness. If it ever had a loader on it check the wear on the bolster bushings on the front end. Since you have the quad, not the ivt, you dont have a problem with the electronic hydraulic controls. Nice looking tractor Eric. Good luck.

    Congratulations on the new tractor! Always an important investment to a farm. I remember our first (new used) JD tractor delivered to the farm, 50 years ago. It was the newness that struck me the most. Our old Alice Chambers was ancient and the Neufield was too. We still used a team of horses as well. We felt so blessed.

    We used to own a 7220 front wheel assisted a few years ago. I really liked it, but we needed more horsepower and decided to replace it. We've never had any issues it and with the 2WD, I think you'll have a good time!

  • @johnmoore669
    @johnmoore669 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Eric, I think you did great picking out a great tractor to meet your needs. It is always a good thing getting a tractor in a class that you are familiar with-probably uses the same filters, parts etc. You have to do what is best for your farm and finances. Your reasons were sound, logical and seem to be well thought out. I am excited to see it in the field and the possibly new sprayer or sprayer upgrades you spoke about. God Bless and Stay Safe :)

    Should serve you well i have a few twenty series with lots of hours on them. You have nice long axles,I have a set of hubs and wheels if you want a set of duals for it. The set I have are 18.4x38 that came off of a 7710. That will help with the ride as well with the narrow row spacing.

    • @10thgenerationdairyman
      @10thgenerationdairyman  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to hear. I thought about getting duals for it. Probably would want them off for spraying row crops though. How much would you want for them?

      @FarmingFixingFabricating 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@10thgenerationdairyman $2,000 for the hubs and wheels with tires. They are 18.4x38 tires. The hubs are over $1,000 a piece from Deere with the wedges and the hardware.

    I live about four miles from the John Deere main tractor assembly plant. The 7200 series were and are very popular tractors, the flat front cab and corner post exhaust are still some of the best innovations they have ever come up with. The variable displacement hydralics will really show up with sprayer hydralic drive is much nicer and smoother than pto

    This tractor has been a workhorse for us. It was used a lot in situations that should have been bigger, higher horse power tractors, But circumstances made us have to put this tractor to the test- and it was amazing- it performed well and the tight turns helped us so much on some of the odd shaped, smaller fields. This will be useful for many years, in many applications.

    yep, you should blue Loctite every bolt. I've noticed you have a lot of bolts that come loose, when they do they strip and ruin your gear. You should get the bigger bottle and keep it handy for all the wrenching you do. I don't use red because I've stripped bolts. Anyway, keep up the great content Eric.
