The dude at 10:15 riding the riding lawnmower casually drives over something in the road creating a huge crunching sound and just looks around to make sure nobody sees him and just continues on as f it couldn’t have been a wee tike he just cut in half. 🤣🤣😂😂
For you lot who think that the Skyline Pavilion at Butlin's is rubbish, I actually think that it's a spectacular addition to the Butlin's sites and I grew up in this era as I first went on holiday at Butlin's in 2002.....
The first ever one was Terry Brown of Unijet spends a week as a rep in Tenerife who did BTTF 2 years before this guy However I feel this is better then undercover boss- since most of the undercover bosses feel that there is nothing wrong with the company. Some of them didn't like negative things said about the company. Often they just shadow one person whereas BTTF address more issues such as customer complaints like this guy has done. Plus with BTTF, the main boss would go back to the broad about his experiences, speaking about the issues of the people on the shop floor from which changes must be put into immediate effect and challenging the other board members to go "BACK TO THE FLOOR" themselves. I never found that in Undercover Boss. I find UNDERCOVER BOSS is more of a P.R. exercise.
I would say Butlins had a near death experience before this guy took over. Pontins was in the same boat around the same time. Nobody invested a penny there though and look at the difference between the two now.
Butlins is a amazing company and they had to do it to modernize and get ready for the new millennium that's why they brought in the designers of the millennium dome
what I don't understand is why this man as spent more money on upgrading Bonor Regis with 3 hotels and Minehead with an hotel and all those posh lake side apartments and yet not spent or done as much of the mother camp of Butlins at Skegness surely Skegness should have had the most upgrades and money spent on it as after all that was Sir Billy Butlins first holiday camp I have been to Skegness and Bognor and I don't rate Skegness at all for the lack of upgrades compared to the other complex's he should have least put an hotel on the Skegness site rather than 3 at Bognor that's very unfair o the people from the north for a complex in the south to get more its as though he favours the south over the north which is typical of big boss's to leave the north behind the south and to prefer to spend more money in the south than the north he needs to get his act together or he will find Skegness slipping away fast and he will end up with 2 also the other sites in ayre and barry island should never have been closed down as now there is not enough vacancies to go round where there was when the others was around oh yeah and the Butlins hotel in Blackpool was also scrapped when that should have been kept for adults only so that adults without kids could have gone there rather than the others if they wished to do so so please mr managing director spend more money on Skegness then I might return to Butlins also what he should consider doing is the same as what other holiday companies do abroad like first choice holidays and that is all inclusive holiday packages which means full board food and all local brands of alcoholic drinks and soft drinks included and I think he will find he will make a lot of money as a lot of people would love to see this board option included as I for one would certainly buy aa all inclusive holiday package as I love doing them as I have always done that board package when in Benidorm as all he as to do is work out the cost of full board then work out a cost for the drinks and then make it all out as one price deal as all inclusive do start from around £650 per person per week and upwards and a lot of people do go for that board option why does he not put out a survey on all 3 camps asking guests if they would like to see that board option and see for himself what people would think of the idea then he could start it off at one site say Skegness just to see how well it does if its a success then move it on to the other 2 if it fails after say 2 season then scrap it with nothing lost really but at least if it didn't take off then at least Butlins would have tried the option
I agree. Butlins Skegness has only received the New Splash Waterworld and Seaside Apartments in the last 5 years. In that time, Bognor Regis has had new Seaside Apartments, The Wave Hotel, Refurbished Apartments and a New Funfair. Whilst Minehead has had a new Funfair, Seaside Apartments, West Lakes Chalet Village and a refurbished restaurant. Also, Butlins Skegness is much bigger than Bognor Regis, so that can't even be the reason. I heard that one of the reasons why Skegness hasn't really received any investment, is because in the end of 1990's they built two new apartment complexes with an extra 1000 apartments. Despite this I totally agree with you, how can Skegness be the Flagship with the least investment? One thing is that I have noticed that the Older Accommodation at Bognor Regis and Minehead, can date back to the 1950's whilst the older ones at Skegness date back to around 1980's. I completely agree, Butlins need to keep investment at Skegness before it drains like the Filey Camp did in the 1980's.
Went to Skeggy in September.. they are building a massive hotel right on the sea front in the town..looks like a holiday Inn or a trav elodge..?May take a fair bit of trade from Butins ?
Tony marshell left in 2000 when Bourne leisure bought out Butlins, basically in the 1980s when Butlins was failing the owners (the rank group who own Mecca bingo) decided to close the failing parks and refurb the ones left into the holiday world's, then in 1998 they dropped the holiday world's and Tony marshell came in with the big 140 million refurb plan built the skyline pavillions new apartments and the splash waterworlds, at the same time closing Pwllheli and the Ayr camps because they weren't doing as well as they wanted them to be and also due to planning restrictions on the pavilions as rank wanted all of the parks to be similar and have the same things as an image thing. Then after all the refurb rank had a restructure and sold Butlins off to Bourne leisure, who also own haven and have since opened the hotels at bognor, refurbed all of the old 1980s accomodation that was left. And they are refurbing all splash waterworlds and funfairs, plus alot of other smaller things. Rank protected the future of Butlins while Bourne leisure have made sure there work hasn't gone down the drain. Unlike a few certain companies cough cough brittania hotels group cough cough that have let pontins go on its death bed
I will never know why they closed butlins Ayr it was always busy the site is now part of haven holidays and called Craig Tara its nothing like it used to be and is so expensive.
I've been going there since the 70s , when I was a kid I liked it for rides and arcades etc , as a teenager I brought my cousin or best mate along and we loved it for shagging birds , dropping acid etc and then I pretty much was done with it until I became a dad and it opened it all up again , seeing my son love it for dinosaur king Sega arcade game and untold amount of other stuff geared for kids. Also I usually go in a family group of around 14 of us and we'd have a lads night and a girls night at jumping jacks, messy messy messy!!
I GO TO BUTLINS BECAUSE IT IS CHEAP AND I CAN USE IT AS A BASE THE MUSIC WEEKENDS ARE GREAT TOO I WONDER THOUGH WHAT PROFIT BUTLINS MAKE EACH YEAR ? IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THEY MAKE DO AND MEND RATHER THAN PLAN FOR THE FUTURE LOOK AT SUCCESSFUL COMPANIES LIKE SAY PREMIERE INN CLEAN /SIMPLE AND COMFORTABLE THAT CANT BE TOO DIFFICULT CAN IT ? AND AS FOR GETTING ON THE THE SITE EVEN NOW IN 2020 IVE DONE IT OVER 10 TIMES THIS YEAR WITH EASE SO NOTHING HAS CHANGED JUST SURPRISED THAT NOTHING HAS HAPPENED THERE WITH IT BEING SO EASY TOO GET ON THE SITE

For you lot who think that the Skyline Pavilion at Butlin's is rubbish, I actually think that it's a spectacular addition to the Butlin's sites and I grew up in this era as I first went on holiday at Butlin's in 2002.....

You booked to stay at butlins, love .
It’s not the Ritz that you’ve booked 😂😂
I would say Butlins had a near death experience before this guy took over. Pontins was in the same boat around the same time. Nobody invested a penny there though and look at the difference between the two now.

Went to Skeggy in September.. they are building a massive hotel right on the sea front in the town..looks like a holiday Inn or a trav elodge..?May take a fair bit of trade from Butins ?
Minehead is the biggest and the best so why spend money on skeggy just because it was the first one.
So this is the man who destroyed the Butlins brand.
It sure did Melanie, the place was just so much better before that eyesore.
I worked in Skegness 1993-2007. 1998 beyond it was just a job, before that it was a lifestyle :-(
But I grew up with the 1999 to 2004 era of Butlins, back when they had Noddy. This was the Butlins that I knew back then.
He saved Butlins. The place was an absolute embarrassment prior to the refurbishment.
I will never know why they closed butlins Ayr it was always busy the site is now part of haven holidays and called Craig Tara its nothing like it used to be and is so expensive.
Scott Ellis least profitable and too much money required to refurbish all 4 sites so had to close least profitable to sell and fund the last three.
Warren Kennett sorry to correct you but Bourne leisure did not own butlins at the time Butlins pwllheli change to Haven it was Rank Group who did that
the local councils did not give planning permeation for the skyline pavilions
skyline pavilion
Tony Marshall comes across like a Poundland Duncan Bannatyne
You shouldn't have closed Filey and left it to rott
Marshall joined Butlin's Ltd in the late 1990s, over ten years after Filey's closure, so you can't blame him.
They sold it so they could invest in the parks that were more viable
The person who closed butlins filey and Clacton was Bobby butlin son of Sir Billy Butlin
8:47 Those scrambled eggs were yellow and grey 🤮🤪
Did he really just tell that family they looked big so they needed a lot?🤣

I WONDER THOUGH WHAT PROFIT BUTLINS MAKE EACH YEAR ?
IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THEY MAKE DO AND MEND RATHER THAN PLAN FOR THE FUTURE
LOOK AT SUCCESSFUL COMPANIES LIKE SAY PREMIERE INN
CLEAN /SIMPLE AND COMFORTABLE
THAT CANT BE TOO DIFFICULT CAN IT ?
AND AS FOR GETTING ON THE THE SITE EVEN NOW IN 2020
IVE DONE IT OVER 10 TIMES THIS YEAR WITH EASE SO NOTHING HAS CHANGED
JUST SURPRISED THAT NOTHING HAS HAPPENED THERE
WITH IT BEING SO EASY TOO GET ON THE SITE
Use it as a base? Are you climbing a mountain or blasting off into space?
I can't hear you , can you please speak up a bit
Butlins, my idea of a holiday hell, sort of like a drab council estate but with the boring entertainment. 😆
Better than going Greece and having all the agg of being pestered by the local's to eat in their restaurants and purchase from their shops
You boring snob.
Stupid boss, stupid customers.
8:47 Those scrambled eggs were yellow and grey 🤮🤪
