after you follow the steps he showed, go for
apt-get update
then apt-get upgrade.
After that you will be able to install whatever packages you want to install

To fix this, use sudo in front of nano /etc/apt/sources.list. Then, u can follow the steps on the video. The problem will be gone in the last step.
