I guess you know it Beelz, and it's kinda cheating, but I discovered you can manipulate the slime. When you enter the room it's already decidec which slot will copy, and the slime will copy the item inside that slot. If you use the slime you know which slot is duplicating. Then you can exit the game, load it and place on that slot the item you want to copy. Also, if that slot is empty it will copy the last item.
I'm currently trying to find a way to determine which slot Slime will duplicate BEFORE you find him. It should be possible as rarely ever is something in a rogue game completely random so it's just the case of finding one or multiple values that affect it

If you didn’t know already, you can free an npc, but not interacting with them will have them appear in another room later, usually helpful if you don’t need the plant heals atm or want to have a better item pool for slime

I did a pretty neat mummy run where I capitalized on afterimage, in an attempt to basically replace his basic fire with an onslaught of homing magic orbs. Worked surprisingly well all things considered.
Damn, Ghoul's able to get stupidly powerful now when it comes to survivability! That was absolutely beautiful to see, and I'm happy that Revenge actually worked pretty well with everything else that was in there. More Revenge meant more damage after getting hit with the ability to heal 50% of the latest hit's damage back, and pairing that with Ghoul's ability to also restore lost health was great recovery (-not counting the extra of being able to heal each room you passed through, but that only added to it)! Kinda looking forward to seeing a build where Shield gets some damage output to go with its own tankiness--although, hoping Mummy gets its chance first! Nonetheless, hey there, person reading this! Well I've been playing the game a lot waiting for the Item Rework update and I FINALLY managed to get the Skeleton King trophy yesterday! Mana Bone, Infinite Bone, Sorcerer Necklace, Master Fighter Helm, and somehow wound up with two Voodoo Dolls thanks to Slime. I nearly had a stroke when I swapped to my Hunter in the Hero fight but I guess as long as you don't damage him with anyone other then Little Bone you still get the trophy.
What a satisfying run. Dare I say, delicious. Satiating, even. Only thing I'd change is: Trade Rosary which isn't doing much for Priestess Veil when you had the chance. And at the end, assuming you had just a tiny bit more gold, trade the Carleon Armor for Hand of Glory (you'd still have two fortress anyway). But clearly it wasn't even necessary. Ghoul...truly is...the absolute unit.
Man, feels so nice to see the Ghoul GIT GOOD like this. The Ghoul was my favorite skull from when this game released just from its style, but its actual utility was disappointing. Love this niche it’s found as an unkillable juggernaut.

1- As long as you do not keep pressed the button for Release, an Npc will still be eligible to appear. Knowing this, it is better to Release every Npc that you do not need, to give more chanches to the others (I do this with Slime, when I find it in 1st/2nd act, when the build is still not fleshed out. 2- For what I've played, when you play the majority of a run with a Power skull, you have an 75/80ish % to find the mage in act 4. 3- I've done a Full Fortress run with Shield, it is still big damage, expecially if you find symbol of toughness. 4- Did the same build you did here, but with Priestess Staff and Berserker's Gauntlets instead of the Rosary and the Quartz. And I used Berserker. Life got under 30% only at the Hero and Joan (because Joan cheats by flying). That felt good.
I believe that you performed a very accurate impression of your viewers whenever we see you not free one of the NPCs, specifically the halfling girl and the harpy #freethelady
I remember a second Ghoul run i had with Ascetic Heart, Priets's Staff, double Knight's Determination and le chonke hand. Tho i dont remember the other items, might've been the power axes but in the end it was pretty much impossible to get killed

Seriously, the new inscriptions are super fun, and even though I STILL haven’t got my first pc victory yet (bought it on of because I couldn’t wait for the switch update for inscriptions) I’m loving every single run! Except the ones with recruit. He needs a better basic attack.
I tried my hand at an Execute build with Ghoul and Berserker and ended up easily clearing rooms at the cost of doing awful, pitiful damage to bosses lmao. Somehow I still finished the run but only because Voodoo Doll carried me with the 2nd Phase Hero fight
Some equipment QoL would be nice now that the pool is so big. Maybe we could rescue a fortune teller that tells us the most common inscription in the run, or a scavenger that would bring equipment to the shop for quartz when we take non-equipment rooms.
I feel amazing beelz. It's been 2days since I found my lovely beast mark "hou" katana in dungreed. Having blast with that and in a run I managed to get Benedict, Bianca, and Cecilia taking down the hard mode. Anyway, it hurt to see samurai sacrificed for God ghouuuuul. Ghoul is amazing indeed. But still hurt.

Mostly that becaue the scroll has mana cycle + its own 40% CDR it gives more CD value therefore more uptime o the armours shielding effect to soak damage.
I'm gonna share my favorite run I've had in the new item update, which fits this video because it was an unkillable Ghoul run. Medal Box Heart of the Aesthetic x2 (I love Slime) Knights Determination Thorny Pauldron Poisoned Heart Warrior's Pauldrons Golden Sword Ice Scale Spaulders And at the end, that got me Fortress 4, Revenge 4, Relic 2, and a bunch of misc stuff like Treasure 2, Freeze 1, Poison 1, and Bleed 1. The hero honestly couldn't deal any damage to me once I got the passive from Body Bullet Tank built up, mixed with the DR from Knights with a Barrier up.
6:36 it dropped life orb that's why you healed all daamge. 25:17 when you enter a new room you only heal 10% of your current HP so having 360 max HP doesn't give you 36 health when you enter a room, instead you get 18 HP back which is 10% of your current HP. 30:15 probably it's multiplicative which means first you get 40% less damage that makes you take only 60% of original damage and then you take 30% less of the 60% remaining which makes 42% of original damage or if you would take 10 damage it will be reduced to 4 with both effects.
Awesome vid Beelz! If I understand correctly, isn't Decayed Heart + Revenge basically a 50% dmg reduction (as long as there's an enemy in range of the poison)? Or do you have yo actually deal damage through normal attack or skill to activate revenge? If yes, perhaps a Revenge + Poison Ghoul would be awesome also!
Relic+Revenge is awesome on Berserker and Ghoul. You just need to get as much health as possible, it means you heal an ABSURD amount of health per room.

I did a run with full Revenge, lots of HP and two of the item that increases Physical Damage based on your max HP on Berserker (ghoul tagged along too but didn’t do much) and managed to get my first win against the hero!! Sadly didn’t manage to get Heart of the Ascetic, but i had something like 1000% Physical Damage at the end (somehow, i honestly don’t know how)
WTF, Retribution looks amazing, I know what Inscryption I'm going after next time I attempt to get Legendary Shield FWIW, while feel other skulls inherently feel harder to learn and I've had some rough times using them--Gargoyle and Shield come to mind--Recruit has felt like the most frustrating to use overall because it seems like his potential to be great has the lowest ceiling, if that makes any sense...which I hate saying since summoning is probably my favorite mechanic in videogames and anyone who leans in on that should, theoretically, be aces. Recruit just...falters in that respect
I already forgot what it's called but my best heart run was more focused on fortress -- got the fortress item that does a big blast when you have a shield and it got slimed. Had enough phys damage up, every time my berrier got hit, it did about a 5th of the hero's hp bar, and had enough damage resistance that the 1- hp took 2 or 3 hits for hero to pop it, and on top of that, was berserker so I wanted to get hit. Also had an excellent ghoul run with revenge and 2 of the 30% heal staff that is the first time i've ever actually beat the hero with ghoul
I wasn't able to record it, but I just got what I call the holy water run, where I got two hearts of the ascetic, knight's determination, priest's staff, prayer of grace, golden whip and a couple others that boost magic I forgot to memorize. The staff, whip and determination all activate at 30%, which was 135 health. I doubt anyone will believe me, but I don't care. It was fucking cool.
Not gonna lie, it really feels like they should be adding more item slots. I know the idea was to make it so you can stack more inscriptions by making 1-2 items work, but each individual effect seems a lot weaker, so you need more inscription effects to get any strong builds. The experience is definitely more balanced this way, but half the fun of rouges (imo) is figuring out builds that can break the game and using them. I think it'd be fair to allow for more items so we still CAN have broken builds like that 1 shot samurai build you had in previous patches, but just making it require more items to get.
Hmm. Beelz is developing a god complex with what was previously one of the skulls that he NEVER wanted to use. This is equal parts amazing and concerning. Neat combo, though! Furthermore, I will call this Frankenstein's monster.
I believe a much needed addition to Ghoul, would be nerfing his speed a bit, but making it so that his hook and SUCK abilities both drag in the meat chunks, that would make him the strongest against crowds because he can face tank and slowly move through while eating his fill Also, I feel like during this run if you had ditched that 3rd fortress and grabbed master fighter or hand of glory and swapped skills for the cleaver, this would be the ultimate Ghoul/Zombie build, because the only thing that this is really lacking is the damage aspect. Regardless, this is a extremely powerful build that, yet again, utilizes no legendary items, and abuses the inscription system
My first power skull win was a 'zerker revenge run. Only my 3rd clear and still new but it was fun, may take off my training wheels soon You got the breastplate too! Slime doubled mine for my 2 fortress
I had a run where I got the stone mask (had gambler since act 1, so that helped) and the one ring and I had enough money at the last shop to do 10 rerolls. love the stone mask

Hey Beelz I recently got a Masterpiece clonestamp run. I won't spoil what happens but you should definitely take it if you have the chance, extremely fun item to get.
I had a ghoul run wherein I had about 1200% physical attack damage. Which made me question what was giving me that much physical apparently 2 stacks of courage doesn't give you a flat 20% physical damage. What is does is add 20% of your total physical damage. I had about 940% plus the two courage items which should roughly add up to 1000% physical damage with courage this adds another 200% on top of that. What I remember I had full stacks in strike, 2 stacks in courage, 2 stacks in arms. My cleaver did 6k damage to the hero when strike triggered. So far my top tier inscriptions are the ff strike (full stack is basically gunpowder sword on steroids) wisdom courage hidden blade arms artifact treasure masterpiece arson (full stack of arson causes burned enemies to explode and this does absurd amounts of magic damage you still can't burn the statues on the joan fight but burning the summons trigger the explosion which also damages the statues) Also avoid full stacking this inscriptions misfortune (hidden blade is much better since marked enemies receive crits on top of the 35% damage amp) rapidity (unless you have a controller with a rapid fire macro this inscription is hard to maximize) poisoning (1 inscription is enough. makes the joan fight harder because status effects don't affect the statues that protect joan) bleeding (same as poisoning) absolute zero (Same as poisoning) dizziness (same as poisoning but this is the worst inscription IMO just a worst freeze) niche inscription that works well with specific skulls or items Soar Chase Mutant revenge fairy tale (super strong if light spirit and dark spirit are present) mid tier inscriptions (not bad but not good either) mana tech mana cycle fortress heirloom antique heritage relic
Currently doing great beelz, its been a whole since u asked, but anyway we need a new item tier list! A buncha items got released and I currently just don't know what to take, too much synergies make me unable to focus on one thing and may often end up sucking with my items and lose runs because of it.
I think the devs need to change the mage adventurer fight in act 4 cause if you have a power skull its really hard to damage them and not take a ridiculous amount of damage yourself. If they just put three ledges that stay for the whole fight, like one big one in the middle and two smaller ones on each end, then it would make that fight somewhat fair for power skulls. I cant tell you how many runs I've lost or given up on as a power skull cause of that one fight.

yo Beelz if you take video ideas, what if you do a run where you start with a skull of lowest rarity and then everytime you see any skull of a higher rarity, you take it no questions asked and continue the run like that until you find a new skull of higher rarity
Heart of the astetic can be a negative if you have more than 150 max life, it causes it to lose effective max life ex: 152 max life add heart 302 life equaling out to 151 effective life due to life drain
If you ever do another run like this you should aim for 4/4 relic. Much stronger than that 'summon sword' item. Summons lighting strong enough to 1 or 2 shot all weaker enemies with seemingly no upper limit on how many it could summon at once and lasted a very generous time. Think it also stunned but not sure if that was that or some other effect
The Bofuri run will be fun lol. Instead of Hydra you can take dwarf as a representation of machine god but hydra fits more. Man it's a shame that the admins nerfed devour/odd eater on equipment, why not let maple have a 1 shot counter move, that doesn't cost any mana actually gives you some.
got mana eater early on a skul boi run with magic necklace. somehow got the mana eater duped in the next spot and proceeded to go physical skul. killed chimera. died to pokey boi from act4
You were surprised at the interruption on Ghoul's succ so here's the breakdown you never asked for but still receive and will hate me for because of the comparison: Ghoul's suck as well as the chomp he does at the end of his skills knock enemies up into the sky. The very same thing happens when the gravity ball hits the ground from that one item that made the baby bone run so stupid. This knock up apparently plays the role of a hidden status effect and just like in League of Legends, it interrupts enemies' attacks and prevents them from doing anything while leaving them vulnerable for damage (this is the comparison you'll probably hate). I am not sure why that happens but it is what it is. I haven't noticed it on anything else quite yet. Now, you may ask "why the fudge does this effect not trigger when Ghoul swings his cleaver? After all, the first attack of the combo throws enemies into the air". To that I say - inconsistency. Basic attacks have no stopping power in Skul (apart from killing adversaries and Frost skull's freeze effect). Abilities on the other hand have more oompf to them. This is me making sense of this and from the game's perspective I genuinely have no idea why this is a thing but it works. In short: Some of what Ghoul does (and potentially other skulls might do as well + the geavity ball generator item) knocks enemies upwards whichh prevents them from doing anything and if they happen to be in the middle of an attack, it cancels it. Isn't it glorious? What a happy little accident \o/ P.S.: This might get patched eventually for Ghoul but I doubt they will change the gravity balls. It gives them more utility outside of keeping enemies in one place and dealing some damage. Ghoul doesn't need all that utility because he's already unstoppable on almost any run and this little feature? Bug? Hidden effect? further improves him as a character P.P.S.: I was wondering if there's any revenge + fortress or relic + fortress items. I don't know every single inscription on every single item but the one item that comes to mind is Dark Priest's Robe. It should have fortress because of the shield but I have no idea what the other inscription is. Revenge would make sense because you need to go down on health to activate the effect which is the same reasoning for why Knight's Determination has Revenge on it (I assume). Would've been perfect for the run Many loves and have a good one \o/
This actually makes a lot of sense. There's a few things in the game that can ever so slightly knock an enemy into the air, causing interruption. I suppose it's an unexpected benefit!
I comented on the other video, but i had a 3k physical damage multiplier berserker run with heart of the ascetic. Pretty fun 2 shoting hero Also had: hybrid thief with gunpowder and hidden dagger with rapidity and a rapidity magic DP. Both are insanely fun Rn my goal is getting masterpiece+cooldown ninja

You think Samurai is elusive? For me that's the most common skull that I find next to gambler. Although now I think about it I'm pretty sure Gambler has a built-in infinite bone mechanic
Yeah this game seriously needs more equipment slots, maybe a second mode where you get double slots or a new row of slots and the game increases the stats of the enemies or something, like a hardcore mode
i did a run with carleon commander and one other skull i cant remember but it was so defensive and I didn't have to focus on the boss that i beat the game easily

Anyway, it hurt to see samurai sacrificed for God ghouuuuul. Ghoul is amazing indeed. But still hurt.

The hero honestly couldn't deal any damage to me once I got the passive from Body Bullet Tank built up, mixed with the DR from Knights with a Barrier up.

25:17 when you enter a new room you only heal 10% of your current HP so having 360 max HP doesn't give you 36 health when you enter a room, instead you get 18 HP back which is 10% of your current HP.
30:15 probably it's multiplicative which means first you get 40% less damage that makes you take only 60% of original damage and then you take 30% less of the 60% remaining which makes 42% of original damage or if you would take 10 damage it will be reduced to 4 with both effects.

If I understand correctly, isn't Decayed Heart + Revenge basically a 50% dmg reduction (as long as there's an enemy in range of the poison)? Or do you have yo actually deal damage through normal attack or skill to activate revenge? If yes, perhaps a Revenge + Poison Ghoul would be awesome also!
Relic+Revenge is awesome on Berserker and Ghoul. You just need to get as much health as possible, it means you heal an ABSURD amount of health per room.

I did a run with full Revenge, lots of HP and two of the item that increases Physical Damage based on your max HP on Berserker (ghoul tagged along too but didn’t do much) and managed to get my first win against the hero!! Sadly didn’t manage to get Heart of the Ascetic, but i had something like 1000% Physical Damage at the end (somehow, i honestly don’t know how)
My first win was Shield Skull, double Relic Staff (Thank you rainbow Slime), Aesthetic, and Revenge.
It was Priest Staff, not Relic, force of habit Not used to Priest Staff being one of the better items in a run lmao

FWIW, while feel other skulls inherently feel harder to learn and I've had some rough times using them--Gargoyle and Shield come to mind--Recruit has felt like the most frustrating to use overall because it seems like his potential to be great has the lowest ceiling, if that makes any sense...which I hate saying since summoning is probably my favorite mechanic in videogames and anyone who leans in on that should, theoretically, be aces. Recruit just...falters in that respect
I already forgot what it's called but my best heart run was more focused on fortress -- got the fortress item that does a big blast when you have a shield and it got slimed. Had enough phys damage up, every time my berrier got hit, it did about a 5th of the hero's hp bar, and had enough damage resistance that the 1- hp took 2 or 3 hits for hero to pop it, and on top of that, was berserker so I wanted to get hit. Also had an excellent ghoul run with revenge and 2 of the 30% heal staff that is the first time i've ever actually beat the hero with ghoul

I wasn't able to record it, but I just got what I call the holy water run, where I got two hearts of the ascetic, knight's determination, priest's staff, prayer of grace, golden whip and a couple others that boost magic I forgot to memorize. The staff, whip and determination all activate at 30%, which was 135 health. I doubt anyone will believe me, but I don't care. It was fucking cool.

Not gonna lie, it really feels like they should be adding more item slots. I know the idea was to make it so you can stack more inscriptions by making 1-2 items work, but each individual effect seems a lot weaker, so you need more inscription effects to get any strong builds. The experience is definitely more balanced this way, but half the fun of rouges (imo) is figuring out builds that can break the game and using them. I think it'd be fair to allow for more items so we still CAN have broken builds like that 1 shot samurai build you had in previous patches, but just making it require more items to get.

I believe a much needed addition to Ghoul, would be nerfing his speed a bit, but making it so that his hook and SUCK abilities both drag in the meat chunks, that would make him the strongest against crowds because he can face tank and slowly move through while eating his fill
Also, I feel like during this run if you had ditched that 3rd fortress and grabbed master fighter or hand of glory and swapped skills for the cleaver, this would be the ultimate Ghoul/Zombie build, because the only thing that this is really lacking is the damage aspect. Regardless, this is a extremely powerful build that, yet again, utilizes no legendary items, and abuses the inscription system
My first power skull win was a 'zerker revenge run. Only my 3rd clear and still new but it was fun, may take off my training wheels soon

Hey Beelz I recently got a Masterpiece clonestamp run. I won't spoil what happens but you should definitely take it if you have the chance, extremely fun item to get.
Speaking of King, mana cludgel and bleed sound like they work really well with king
I had a ghoul run wherein I had about 1200% physical attack damage. Which made me question what was giving me that much physical apparently 2 stacks of courage doesn't give you a flat 20% physical damage. What is does is add 20% of your total physical damage. I had about 940% plus the two courage items which should roughly add up to 1000% physical damage with courage this adds another 200% on top of that. What I remember I had full stacks in strike, 2 stacks in courage, 2 stacks in arms. My cleaver did 6k damage to the hero when strike triggered.
So far my top tier inscriptions are the ff
strike (full stack is basically gunpowder sword on steroids)

arson (full stack of arson causes burned enemies to explode and this does absurd amounts of magic damage you still can't burn the statues on the joan fight but burning the summons trigger the explosion which also damages the statues)
Also avoid full stacking this inscriptions
misfortune (hidden blade is much better since marked enemies receive crits on top of the 35% damage amp)
rapidity (unless you have a controller with a rapid fire macro this inscription is hard to maximize)
poisoning (1 inscription is enough. makes the joan fight harder because status effects don't affect the statues that protect joan)
bleeding (same as poisoning)
absolute zero (Same as poisoning)
dizziness (same as poisoning but this is the worst inscription IMO just a worst freeze)
niche inscription that works well with specific skulls or items

A buncha items got released and I currently just don't know what to take, too much synergies make me unable to focus on one thing and may often end up sucking with my items and lose runs because of it.

Jawless Paul did a ghoul run yesterday and it was crazy powerful.
I think the devs need to change the mage adventurer fight in act 4 cause if you have a power skull its really hard to damage them and not take a ridiculous amount of damage yourself. If they just put three ledges that stay for the whole fight, like one big one in the middle and two smaller ones on each end, then it would make that fight somewhat fair for power skulls. I cant tell you how many runs I've lost or given up on as a power skull cause of that one fight.

Well the golden sword is not quite hip, but in it's own mind it's the toughest shit, and everything it lacks, well it makes up in denial
Heart of the astetic can be a negative if you have more than 150 max life, it causes it to lose effective max life ex: 152 max life add heart 302 life equaling out to 151 effective life due to life drain
Ghoul can become TECHNICALLY immortal with the new items, the best kind of immortal

If you ever do another run like this you should aim for 4/4 relic. Much stronger than that 'summon sword' item. Summons lighting strong enough to 1 or 2 shot all weaker enemies with seemingly no upper limit on how many it could summon at once and lasted a very generous time. Think it also stunned but not sure if that was that or some other effect

You were surprised at the interruption on Ghoul's succ so here's the breakdown you never asked for but still receive and will hate me for because of the comparison:
Ghoul's suck as well as the chomp he does at the end of his skills knock enemies up into the sky. The very same thing happens when the gravity ball hits the ground from that one item that made the baby bone run so stupid. This knock up apparently plays the role of a hidden status effect and just like in League of Legends, it interrupts enemies' attacks and prevents them from doing anything while leaving them vulnerable for damage (this is the comparison you'll probably hate). I am not sure why that happens but it is what it is. I haven't noticed it on anything else quite yet. Now, you may ask "why the fudge does this effect not trigger when Ghoul swings his cleaver? After all, the first attack of the combo throws enemies into the air". To that I say - inconsistency. Basic attacks have no stopping power in Skul (apart from killing adversaries and Frost skull's freeze effect). Abilities on the other hand have more oompf to them. This is me making sense of this and from the game's perspective I genuinely have no idea why this is a thing but it works. In short: Some of what Ghoul does (and potentially other skulls might do as well + the geavity ball generator item) knocks enemies upwards whichh prevents them from doing anything and if they happen to be in the middle of an attack, it cancels it. Isn't it glorious? What a happy little accident \o/
P.S.: This might get patched eventually for Ghoul but I doubt they will change the gravity balls. It gives them more utility outside of keeping enemies in one place and dealing some damage. Ghoul doesn't need all that utility because he's already unstoppable on almost any run and this little feature? Bug? Hidden effect? further improves him as a character
P.P.S.: I was wondering if there's any revenge + fortress or relic + fortress items. I don't know every single inscription on every single item but the one item that comes to mind is Dark Priest's Robe. It should have fortress because of the shield but I have no idea what the other inscription is. Revenge would make sense because you need to go down on health to activate the effect which is the same reasoning for why Knight's Determination has Revenge on it (I assume). Would've been perfect for the run

This actually makes a lot of sense. There's a few things in the game that can ever so slightly knock an enemy into the air, causing interruption. I suppose it's an unexpected benefit!
I did a run of full arson with rockstar for a full pyrotechnics rock show and it did so much damage to everything even bosses

Also had: hybrid thief with gunpowder and hidden dagger with rapidity and a rapidity magic DP. Both are insanely fun

You think Samurai is elusive? For me that's the most common skull that I find next to gambler. Although now I think about it I'm pretty sure Gambler has a built-in infinite bone mechanic

Yeah this game seriously needs more equipment slots, maybe a second mode where you get double slots or a new row of slots and the game increases the stats of the enemies or something, like a hardcore mode
i did a run with carleon commander and one other skull i cant remember but it was so defensive and I didn't have to focus on the boss that i beat the game easily
