Idk if it’s the camera work, the camera quality, the music, the sound quality, the transitions, the fishing, the skills of jon, or all of them combined but his videos are pristine👌
Dude this is probably my favorite video that you’ve ever made. Havasu is my favorite place on the planet. When I lived in AZ I would visit Havasu regularly to go bass fishing. You’re right, it does have a special feeling to it. It literally feels like you’re not on planet earth. It’s magical. Thanks for capturing this lake and city so well
Awesome to see you out west. I live in California and I’ve always wanted to see you or any one from the googan squad come west and fish. Love the video.
11:23 well done!! what a nice fish you have here!! congratulations from france where carps are trophy fish, my pb is 39 pounds the biggest ones can go up to 80 pounds!
I am watching this video and it’s Wednesday and I can’t wait until Saturday when I get to go carp fishing, I have been addicted to carp fishing for over 30 years and still can’t get enough, you need a little stealth, finesse, strategy and light tackle to catch consistently!
you just reminded me of my wildest fishing memory... i was 9 years old, and my grandparents had taken me to my uncle's place to fish for bluegills off his dock. grandpa had just gotten a new spinning rod that morning (couple hundred dollar setup for 1998). my uncle had convinced him to try fishing for carp, so he loaded it up with some corn and threw it out. a few minutes later, drag starts ripping, and grandpa's rod flies out of his hands and into the water. grandpa instantly shot the meanest look i've ever seen at my uncle, and a few seconds later, grandma is almost pulled in. her hook and bobber had coincidentally been in the right spot to hook grandpa's rod! so grandpa yanks her rod from her hands (an old shakespear/zebco combo from the 70's made of aged, yellowed fiberglass) and fights the carp for a good 5 minutes before he gets his hands on his new rod and the single biggest common i'd ever seen. around 6 years later, he gave me that same spinning rod as a birthday gift.
got to fish havasu once, my grandfather lived there for a few years so the only trip we took out to see him i knew i had to get my hands on a pole, most definitely one of the coolest fishing experiences ive had
The quagga mussels are why redear are giant here and the teeth are nothing so not stick your finger too deep they have crushers in there throat that will make you think twice about getting a hook out with your fingers. I just got off the yak and absolutely killed them today on the snacky and bumping bug the in full spawn now had to catch 50 plus over 3 lbs. Great video we love seeing you out here showing what we have and how the lake shines. We have an amazing system here I just love it. Paradise
I fished Lake Havasu a few years ago while on vacation. Nothing spectacular about it, fishing was fair to good. Lots of small bass, lots of pressure. I also made it a point to catch a fish under London Bridge. Overall it was a good week and a beautiful spot.
I took a trip to havasu last year, and the amount of stripe bass there are in the main lake areas are insane, and the rocks for smallmouth or amazing too
Hey jon, if you want to have some real fun with carp try to sight fish them with a flyrod, you can pay guides or try it by yourself, I've tried but failed not easy
Great video, lovely to see someone who gives the poor carp some respect over there on your side of the pond. You should try fly fishing for them lolololol, that'll give you a fight to remember.
Awesome vid! I live in Phoenix and know a crazy spot in a neighborhood where 20-30 bass hit the surface every few seconds. Would love to take you there!
Never been a fan of Havasu, maybe stripers. You did well!! Big lmb's reside in the lower Colorado that runs down thru Yuma on the Cali/Mexico border.Introduced Florida strain in the 70 's and there is some studs
Jon... The green pants look super comfortable for long days on the water in the sun. UPF? What pants? Always look for good technical, breathable pants for August Summer evenings in Canada...
You should fish the canals heading into Phoenix and any canal in the valley. They all have fish in them. I promise you they do. I thin n you'd be shocked and have a good time.
Recon you could nail a bass off the top on one of the Jalepno Poppers haha - top work Jon. im in Boston in october and november meeting family from the uk. will there be a chance of hooking up Stripers land based at that time :)
I have a Googan week trip for you... rent a houseboat on Rainy Lake in MN! Canadian border. Can tow 2 boats behind the houseboat... smallmouth, walleye, pike... wolves, bears, deer... I have done it 4 times and ALWAYS a fun trip. Make sure the houseboat has GPS onboard and it works or you can get lost in the islands...
Was stationed there 7 years. Havasu was amazing lots of 3-6lbrs.. You shoulda went north into the river and fished the backwater ponds froggin and flippin. Also if you are staying in Azvery long. U haveto go down to yuma and launch inmartinez andgo north or south. I preferredsouth. Go into the offshoots and stick 7-9lbrs.
Your 100% correct, too many anglers are all about one species only. In the U.S. its Bass in the U.K. its Carp. You will never be a well-rounded knowledgeable angler until you use different styles in different locations for as many species as possible. And you will never get bored if you are open to catching and enjoying all. Doubt you will read this but hey I Live in Bangkok and fish a good amount. If you are interested in fishing out here let me know.
i know you already were in Florida but any plans to eventually try to fish the space coast? Brevard county, Volusia county, and indian river county in Florida has some great fisheries Mosquito lagoon is right there for a world class redfish fishery, Sebastian Inlet a world class snook fishery, Stick marsh a world class bass fishery with INSANE amounts of BIG BIG bass. Brevard county resident here just hoping. Theres ALOT more those are just the couple of places off the top of my head worth traveling so far but trust theres so much more

Mix in a little of the cream corn with your bread and form it on your hook and that works good for carp I did it a few times and it worked great
just had to drop a comment to say how amazing this video was.
I'm going after Arctic Grayling this spring and summer. I caught a single one last fall and that fish got ME hooked.
I amazes me how u always bring the heat🔥🔥(from AZ)

Hey jon, if you want to have some real fun with carp try to sight fish them with a flyrod, you can pay guides or try it by yourself, I've tried but failed not easy
Carp on the fly rod is popular here in Phoenix. They are in every canal and urban pond in the valley.
Great series love casting concrete
Behind Jon in the intro to part 1, are a couple of Ghost Gums.
They are desert eucalypts from Australia.
At least any gum with a white trunk and branches Aussies call a Ghost Gum!
This is really cool being from Arizona and being to these exact places you have been
Would love to see a Wisconsin and Minnesota series.
Absolutely the best content on youtube.
Another great video Jon B!!! 🔥

Great video, lovely to see someone who gives the poor carp some respect over there on your side of the pond. You should try fly fishing for them lolololol, that'll give you a fight to remember.
