this is definitely the pitch that Stevie Wonder usually sang! that pitched up released version just has his voice unrecognizable, though, MJ's voice on overdub choirs also sound pretty weird on that released version, the slight sped up makes it sound so much more like cheap Asian synthpop of the same era.
all that said, Stevie Wonder did sound like MJ here anyway, actual speed or release/pitched up version
