One fun thing I noticed while watching this. The 1.5 sohc on it's 9psi run did a 15.6 with around 150hp. My integra has done a 15.7 and I think it could do a 15.6 or better, and I know it makes right about 145whp. I have better gearing though. I don't know why I thought it was interesting, but I thought it was neat that a car in beamng based on the platform my car is based on, run similar times with similar power figures.
@@loweredyote8416 I think if I got my launches down better at the time I probably could've shaved a little time too XD. 04 escalade running those times sound about right I would think. Roughly twice the weight, and roughly twice the power
@@kasuraga that’s why I think it’s kinda cool. Power to weights a weird thing. I want to take it to the track before I do the heads, cam, intake, and headers. Maybe a stall too. I don’t have any 1/4 mile strips in my state tho
DOHC is an abbreviation for Dual overhead cam. SOHC is an abbreviation for single over head cam. DOHC has 2 cams above the piston, I think meaning more valves for more power.
DOHC is two camshafts over the pistons, located in the cylinder heads. One camshaft controls the intake valves and the other controls the exhaust valves. SOHC is one camshaft over the pistons. It controls both the intake and exhaust valves.
@@BenitoMelonini more valves for more airflow, but more than 4 valves gets you only marginally more airflow since you only have so much space to put the valves. But yes, in other words, more valves=more power
The previous comments explained it decently. The main thing to know is an engine with a DOHC cylinder head will have better airflow properties than a SOHC motor with the same valve count. This is because it's possible to put the valves at a more optimal position and angle when there are separate cams for intake and exhaust. DOHC engines are also able to rev higher, because the valvetrain is lighter overall, and removing mass from any moving system allows it to move faster before failure.
SOHC uses a single camshaft and a series rocker arms to let all of the cam lobes act on the valves without being positioned directly over them. DOHC can use either a direct acting design, where the 2 camshafts are used for intake and exhaust, respectively, and are placed directly over the valves they are responsible for opening, although this often results in a VERY wide head, so this design is typically not seen in grocery getters. Most production vehicles featuring a DOHC valve train will utilize rocker arms much like the SOHC design to allow the head to be narrower, as rockers let you place the cams closer together, since they don't need to be right over top of the valves, and let the engine be packaged more easily. tl;dr: SOHC is simpler, cheaper, more compact, but less efficient, and less capable of high performance, while DOHC is more complex, expensive, and less easily packaged, although potentially more efficient and better at creating power than a SOHC counterpart.
I had to sub for this. I really like the comparisons, I know how hard it is to do all that stuff with Automation and video editing. Great work keep it coming.
How are you able to run with smaller Boost? The Default Turbo Gtz is 12PSI and Stage 1 is just over 12PSI. I want to keep then Single Cam and Stock Block with a Turbo, but it kepts blowing up.
make a tutorial on how you did that. and if you can also one on how to optimize the game because. Ami is very slow and I don't like it if you help me I would really appreciate it
Man the new update is nice, but I lost every single configuration I had for the vehicles, some pushing 17000 horsepower, not really drivable but fun lol, and I had an all wheel drive drag covet, lost it too Edit: nvm my dumbass forgot to hit "include custom configs" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This would be a great engine for the Civics of that era. The 2.0 DOHC I4 engine makes the Covet very fast and, combined with the GTz underpinnings, the car becomes very enjoyable around the bends too. Not to mention that the 2.0l has also got plenty of torque across the rev range for comfortable commuting and for skipping the 1st gear during hard off-the line acceleration (you put it on 2nd, release the clutch on full throttle and the front wheels spin almost all the way up to the redline, that's how lively this engine is).
i have enjoyed BeamNG since it was a free demo download from their website, but even now with all the updates & improvements its still unstable & buggy. i wish they would finish it & get it working right, even with no mods it freezes , or softlocks

That’s nuts. My stock 04 escalade would do it in same exact time😂that’s kinda cool
But I do think if he’d launch these the times would drop a few tenths

Thanks for the video it was fun. What would be an idea to include engine values and track finish times at the end of the video ?
I just wish they’d actually get launched decent. Would help a good bit

You do Ctrl+q and go to engine, go to intake and click turbo
