Looks the same on my 2002 wagon, You reminded to put back the shim which I will do, but I collected 3 shims and don't know where the 2 other go. I hate having extra parts after repair job.

Audi improved the catching mechanism for the interior door handle. On an A8 (2001, D2 vintage) there is a small barrel clip that you best not lose.

A plastic trim tool is much better than a flat screwdriver for removing panels and weather stripping. MUCH less scratching.
The door release cable was not re-routed through the weather/noise foam correctly. It should go through the small hole.

There's different positions the glass sits on the 'catches' and the regulator rails move! How do I know if its in the correct position?
