@@my8osprivethat's true but i was very impressed by Reilly's shot tolerance on the backhand exchanges with Novak today. Perricard's backhand looks a little sketchy in comparison - unless he has time to set up. Both have monster serves but Opelka uses more variations and has a truer second serve whereas Gio almost hits two first serves. That high kicker to Giovanni's backhand should serve Opelka really well. I'm rooting for Reilly, but ultimately it will come down to handling the nerves on the big points as this can be expected to go to a few tiebreaks.

I was watching this dude's previous match in the tournament and he was not moving anywhere near this well. I thought his footwork was slow, his volleys were sloppy, groundies were uninspired...and now this...just incredible. I'm 6'6" and feel slow at times compared to shorter quicker players at times on the court so I know what it's like. It was a brilliant tactic by Reilly Opelka. If you guys observe how he curved the ball after landing his serve with down in the middle of the service line, which Djokovic had to stretch to get it. An excellent serving day.

This is a good preparation for him though ahead of the Aussies, which based on this Brisbane, getting into week 2 would realistically be the main target. Clay will possibly be his best chance for a slam this year as that could accommodate his current slow speed.
