Jack was a sweet friend, he could come back to tormented but all he did was just pointing out the truth that David’s existence is danger to the innocent people and he still want the best for his friend by advice him to do quick and painless suicide
@@SausagesAndEgg he is the one that fits that sort of englishman character better, the three older gentlemen were homeless so their manner is rougher while the couple is younger so maybe they are of the rebellious or irreverent stage of life, so even undead and angry he kept his properness.

I keep on thinking about the first wolf. The one that killed Jack and bit David. They said he was an escaped lunatic. Imagine how many undead souls he was seeing and talking to. These people were just from David's first few killings. The other wolf was probably surrounded by undead telling him to kill himself for years.
This scene works on so many levels: tragedy, comedy, satire. It's the rare example of a film screenplay that is good enough to be converted into a novel. Almost sounds like a Vonnegut style. For what it's worth I am impressed by a second look at this film.
When I was younger, I thought the fact that David was haunted by the souls of the ones killed by the werewolf, in a sad yet comical way, was the stupidest idea. Now I think it’s not only absolutely brilliant: It totally makes sense. The curse of the werewolf completely takes him in every transformation. He won’t stop killing, no matter how good he is. That’s why at the ending he tries to kill the nurse, even though he loved her. David, he man has to deal with the moral repercussions of his alter ego.
It also adds a more tragic element to the werewolf's existence. It's not something the person afflicted can learn to live with. As long as he lives, the souls of his victims can never rest and will continue to haunt him.
Victim: "I know where you can get a gun" David: "Don't I need a silver bullet or something?" Jack "Oh, be serious would you?" This is a great scene. Love how his victims are all giving him suggestions on how to kill himself. Haha.
I like how each spirit has a different reaction to David, especially Gerald’s reaction. I feel like, if given the time, he would become a REAL vengeful spirit, showing up for the sole purpose of tormenting David until David kills himself.
