This is such an amazing video! Its very informative, i didnt know of soooo many bollywood connections you pointed out here😮!
Nepotism is really going out of hands, and honestly i believe most of the audience was okay with it or were able to ignore it as long as we were getting good content and the talent was apparent on and off the screen. Today, big budget bollywood films are being considered as the playground for young actors to learn and grow in??? Like how did you get here people? 🤦🏻‍♀️🙃

Thanks Ushma!! ♥Yes, I'd be totally fine with nepotism if the actors took the time to learn their craft...hopefully that becomes a reality soon 🙃

People who have issues with nepotism in the film industry
Those people also believe in the myth of meritocracy and okay with the status quo of current mode of production(capitalism) ,if iam being charitable to those people some of them are socdem at best ,neo lib ,neo con at the worst ,
not anti capitalist or socialist at all.
The closest to so-called meritocracy(there is no such industry which has meritocratic base) can be witnessed is in the sport industry.

Yash Chopra and hiroo Johar aren't related.

Hmm, in my research it said they were siblings, but I could be wrong! Thank you for pointing this out!

Did you purposely leave Sajid Khan (Farah Khan's brother and also in the business) out of the family tree because of the me too accusations?
Rani and Kajol are actually 2nd cousins not 1st. Ayan is Kajol's 1st cousin.
Hiroo Johar and Yash Chopra are not siblings. Karan Johar has clarified this many times and apparently in his book, he said his mother is an only child.
Fun fact- I don't know if you learned this during your research but Tabu is Farhan Akther and Zoya Akther's step cousin. Shabana Azmi (Farhan and Zoya's step mother) and Tabu's mom are 1st cousins.

Thanks so much for pointing these things out! I did not know about the me too allegations, I just didn't have enough room in the video to include everyone. Interesting to know about Tabu, I knew she was part of a film family but didn't know exactly how so thank you for clarifying!

I learned so much from this video essay! It's so interesting to learn about how the privileges of nepo babies have changed overtime and how its different from Hollywood! Also the nepotism trees blew my mind :O And I think making room for new people and giving an opportunity for nepo babies to grow more in their careers is a great middle ground solution
