I would do the same. I am a Rolex lover, but the price range of Rolex is nowhere near a Patek. If you want to be taken serious by the sales and negotiating, wearing an AP would be a wise choice, if you not already own a Patek.

Nice overview, and I like their big cases/boxes too. Did you buy one ? 5980 looked very nice - chrono with triple aperture, I think day date equivalent. My fav Patek is the 1463 Tasti Tondi, or 1463 with Breguet numerals (1940s). Very rare tho, probably less than 100 worldwide. Only for sale at big auctions every couple of years.
The cases/boxes were so nicely made and luxurious! I didn’t pick up anything that day but would’ve loved to have one of the cases haha. You’ve got a great taste for the finer, rarer pieces!
I've never been PP fan. There is not even one model i like. I'm an AP guy. The watch of Beth's wrist is amazing.
I respect your opinion, respect RO. But maybe the day will come, you will desired Patek or Vacheron ... a different level of Haute Horlogerie

Private vault viewings are the best when a little below the belt bezle polishing is offered by the busty sales woman during my 3rd Patek purchase! Was not expecting that level of service or was I duped into the purchase?
Wow amazing private showing. My favorite was easily the 5270. I am a big fan of the 5271p with the diamonds but seeing the gold bracelet is just unique. I like the 38mm AP chrono in steel that u were wearing. Have u seen the ice blue dial variant I believe in white gold. It’s a stunning piece. Also what is your opinion on the AP Ceramic open-worked that just came out.
The 5270 is stunning, esp with its gold bracelet! I think the AP Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openworked is super nice, but I’d be afraid that the dial would be a bit too complicated for me. Would love to see one in person though! 😊

Went to the same preview event in my city but they also had all the sports models...and nothing for sale! Was fun to touch and look.

I'd go with any of the chronographs, however the gold 5270 would be super unique and give an amazing feeling to wear.
White dial gold leather classy style is always timeless

5320G is easily the best Patek in the modern collection. The cream is now discontinued and seems most people find it to be better compared to the new salmon one.

Nice overview of the PP collection, other than the Nautilus line these watches just don’t speak to me. I just find it Omegas and Rolex sports models are so much more appealing and just more manly. Your AP is a stunner though.

I too was invited to a private showing with these same cases. Maybe you didn’t realize this or maybe you are leaving a key bit of info out. These are all dumby watches. No movement and the materials are synthetics.

Bought a DJ 36 from them in Hudson yards and they won’t even talk to me about PPs. W.e bought a vintage AP 25572BA online. You flash 30k in front of them and they don’t even respond to you.

In my opinion your AP is far nicer than any of the other watches you looked at in that shop. In fact the AP on your arm in the beginning of the video looks really good!

@@andreas6582 that’s the entire catalogue of Patek Philippe. So many legendary pieces are in there. You can’t say you appreciate dress watches if none of the PP appeals to you because they make some of the finest dress watches in the world
@@ifjfgvjfidifijf It’s a matter of taste. I prefer dress watches from Cartier. I also like the configuration of Rolex DJ that has jubilee, fluted bezel, silver dial. You don’t have to like every dress watch to like dress watches.
