If only it was 1990 still, those cards you set aside would be worth so much money. Lindros used to go for $20, Jagr for $5, Brodeur for $5, but now those cards are sadly worthless. But I would have still done the same as you when opening them! Great memories from my youth!
Check what a PSA 10 of some of these cards goes for. The red edge is very difficult to grade unless it's a pack fresh card. Far from worthless, even with the massive print run. The Jagr, and Broudeur should climb in price soon when Jagr goes HOF. I know of atleast 1 massive full storage locker of unopened early 90s hockey/football that got incinerated. I know, cause I'm the one that did it. Threw away cases and cases and cases and cases. You opened the door and it was nothing but boxes. Trust me, hang onto these cards.
