Another fun fact about Hawaii is it's closer to Alaska geographically than any other state in America. The southern most state is closest to the northern most state crazy.

As someone who’s grown up and still lives in Hawaii, I’ve never really thought about it, but I suppose it’s not considered normal to stand in snow then drive through a desert to go swim in a waterfall/beach in a matter of 5 hours lol

It why I lived New England - numerous mountains to ski at, or sailing, or city exploring or beautiful coastal drives. You really can experience every setting within a 2-3 hr drive or less, in all seasons.

@@scottyskywalker5768 I lived in San Diego and Carmel so not really convenient. New England was really the best place I have lived that gave access to so many environments in all seasons.

Super interesting! Takeaway: Hawaii’s got everything to offer. Can’t wait to go back there ☀️

We were just there, and were astonished to learn that in the driest, nastiest environment there, which looked like the surface of the moon, covered in lava boulders, some clans were assigned that land during Polynesian times. They basically had to create and nurture their own soil in these desert landscapes. Even today I wonder why people build their houses on the raw lava fields.

I read in the Daily Mail that Hawaii is experiencing blizzard and it was snowing on mountain tops. I was so surprised because all I knew was Hawaii is tropical.

Interesting video, but the claim that its the only place in the world that concentrates so many climates zones in such a small area is not true. The municipio "county" of Santa Marta in Colombia's caribean coast only has 2393 km² "the big island has 10.432 km²" yet its territory goes from the caribbean sea to 5800 mts in the Sierra nevada de santa marta range.
The range of precipitation "at sea level" allows it to have life zones, using the holdridge system, ranging from tropical desert scrub to tropical wet forest and thanks to the differences in altitude within the tropics it goes from hot caribbean beaches "both desertlike and humid" to the glaciers at the highest peaks

I'm pretty sure Hawaii is the only place on Earth where you can drive five hours and go from surfinh on a beach along a tropical rainforest, to snow boarding on two feet of snow, and then relax on a beach in a desert.

It has to do witg elevation, caracas and bogota are in tropical zone but are temperate temperature as the air is less dense on the mountais which absorb less solar radiation
