The extra security check is done because of Republic Day. This is always the case just before Independence and Republic Day. I have travelled from BKK many times and i can safely say this was an exception and not the norm. You will see this procedure with all Indian domestic flights as well if you fly close to Republic Day.

I also noticed indian airlines boarding gates in bangkok airport are usually vey far but if you take Thai airways departure flight the boarding gates are comparatively near.

yes . most of Indian Airports terminal have refurnished since 2010 where Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport was built in 2006. . I have been in Delhi and also Bangkok but still Bangkok Airport looks advanced. It is even huge . we even dont need to go to counter for check in. Security and immigration officers was humble , they dont discriminate travellers by watching passenger passport like in Indian officers use to do. India is big country with huge population so definitely India need to construct world class airports and terminals. But if we compare the system then other eastern Asian countries are way ahead. Even Malaysia airport is good.
I travelled on AI380 on 26th Dec. The bathroom flush wasn't even working on 787 Dreamliner and the toilet was chocked. This flight flew to London and Dubai. I wrote to Air Sewa and hopefully they fix it soon. I'm waiting for their cabin change too which is going to happen soon. Same meal was given to me in Dec 2022. Air India needs to change the menu

I think the condition is shambles especially for india's national carrier. It should have been way better, atleast compete among other top airlines in Asia. I mean no hate at all, but if you want to rate airlines, you must increase your knowledge and stop being so nice about things all the time. Just my take on it.
