- Edward R. Murrow Memorial Park in Pawling, NY was created in the 1960's by the Pawling, NY Lions Club. It was a central hub of the community for more than 40 years. The Town of Pawling took over the park and is responsible for maintaining it. Unfortunately, the Town of Pawling has not been maintaining the park and funds are needed to repair the park and again make it something the community can use and be proud to have.
So sad. I grew up here. Best memories of childhood. I learned to swim here. Went to summer camp here all summer, every summer. Was on the swim team here. Had campouts, was in the yearly summer play. Had parties here. This play could and should be a awesome place for Pawling's kids.
Hi Taren! Nice video, for a great cause. I remember going to summer camp here, and walking down to the park to swim daily during summer when I was 'too old for camp.' It could be a great alternative to Lakeside. Such good memories!
The town is so big on Lakeside now adays. I fear that nothing will be done for Murrow Park. Sad as I used to work there as a Life Guard and have so many fond memories.
Such a beautiful park. Why not hold fundraising events like a car show. I’m sure you would have a good turnout if held in the fall. How about a food festival? The venue looks perfect for outdoor events.

Mrs Janet Murrow did not want the park named after her husband. She believed if the park fell into disrepair it would not be a good way to remember her husband.
