Thanks for the great video @Total! Really impressive camera work. You are correct in assuming that not all my builds have been upgraded to Lumen yet, the dark ones are older. You also highlighted some areas that are work in progress and had updates since I uploaded the save, mainly the unfinished Northern forest lake. I also started working on a third main tower, but that is currently only a facade. Let me know if you want to cover something in another video, I can give you a current save then.
@@MrFaerine No, Thank you for the dedication to your build and submitting it. It's a truly stunning piece of work and one I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to check out! the tree is what i started to do, i got sidetracked 200 hours in and how i have a nuclear farm thats short on rods because i fucked the math up and havent played since
I could pause this and analyse every build and STILL never come up with half the ideas this player has pulled together. Absolutely blows my mind some of the build techniques used!
I am late to the party, but this is the most awe-inspring build that I have ever seen. The sheer ingenuity and grit to build these amazing industrial builds is just unbelievable
You mean in which order I build the designs? I always start with a rough idea of the outer shape of the building. First important thing then is to layout the support structure of the building and how it connects to the landscape. I do that and put support pillars inside before putting any machines or logistics. Then I fit in the machines. I work with extendable concepts like "towers and bridges" in my main base. That way I can add new sections if I need more space.
You have to go step by step. I alreay threw myself in some gigantic projects, only to get bored and leave them unfinished. I think that just starting small, then going bigger as you gain experience and can go faster is the best way to end up able to produce such incredible factories.
@@MrFaerine When you fit in the machines, do you already have a plan of the factory machine throughputs and balancing? for example, do you start knowing you'll need 33.333 smelters and having spots for them, or do you have a n area that you will just extend out if you need more?
@@Kevinrreid I will plan what a specific module of my factory will produce and where ressources will come from beforhand. My factory design will have a modular extension plan, both for the next module or if I run out of space.
I'm a new player... barely 30 hours in... But, this build is shockingly beautiful and intricate. A real inspiration for what's possible in the game. The way he's nestled his buildings and factories into parts of the landscape is so impressive. I want to be him when I grow up some day :)
Probably the most impressive build I've ever seen! Hey, I haven't played this game in a while, but while I'm observing the sheer scale of this, I can't help but think we need a personal/player flying vehicle to get around at later stages of the game.
@@MrFaerine People also seem to just gloss over the "2000 hours" aspect of this build. I have a total of 500 hours in this game, and that's encompassing 3 separate base builds. It takes *a lot* of time to build what you've built here, especially considering the finicky nature of building in this game.
Yeah most people can't visualize what 2'000h is. You can learn a language to fluency in 2k hours. It's like a full time job during 1 year, with a lot of unpaid overtime. 😂
Start small man. I have currently a grey block of a building 😅 after its finish i my add some details inside and outside ,but since im not to far in i havent unlocked all fundaments or railing etc from the shop
I love the industrial look, it's how I have always wanted to build but always end up building something that looks like some sort of cyberpunk building with lights and signs all over. Lots of great inspiration here.
This factory has the power to make me want to put thousands more hours into the game, whilst also making me want to uninstall entirely. My jaw was open for the first entire 5 minutes of the video, I was in disbelief. Absolutely incredible.
Great to see this series back and what an amazing save to kick it off with. So inspiring and has given me a tone of ideas. I'd seen photos on Reddit and community highlight on CSS dev stream but seeing it in motion really showcases how amazing this save really is.
Amazing build and i will use a lot of this as inspiration for my next build when 1.0 arrives. I really like how well this build blends with object in game instead of just conrete over everything (like i usually do)
Absolutely fantastic, probably the best base tour i've seen and the others were exceptional. Love the heavy industrial vibe of some of it, which reminds me of the black country in the heart of the midlands at the turn of the century hats off to the creator! Very inspiring.
W T F ! This is insane. You need to be super patient, creative and smart to create a beautiful AND working Factory like this. I wish i could build only one of these multiple buildings in that quality
Factories showcase must be my favourite satisfactory content: to see the creativity and passion of every pioneer out there is both impressive and inspiring. I'm proud of my own save, but it doesn't compare to this ! I'll still go and submit it for anyone to grab the odd idea here and there to make it their own :)
great video! really enjoyed the unique perspective you provided on factory layouts. i have to say though, while the efficiency is impressive, it seems like there’s a bit too much focus on automation. it could take away from job opportunities for people in the long run, don’t you think?
@@TotalXclipse It's just astounding the things that people can create, and slightly disheartening to know that I'll never have that level of patience or creativity to do the same.
