Loving it, Mark, Brother I have been stuck in Uab hospital Birmingham, Alabama for 23 days. I have not been able to touch a bass looking like I might be out of here on Monday I am so gonna put this lesson to use
@ thank you brother, I’m being discharged sometime today. Everything is looking up now. The hard work got to start. I’ll be doing clinic twice a week getting bloodwork drawn medication’s addressed but praise God the transplant seems to be working. Thank you for your encouragement.
1.Identify the harmony and chord tones 2. Put the root note of the chord on the downbeat every bar 3. On the last beat, select what note will lead into the next chord .
Such an informative and engaging lesson!❤ Learning how to create walking bass lines is such a game-changer, and you explained it perfectly. I can’t wait to apply these tips to my own playing-thanks for sharing your knowledge! 🎶🌟
Another fantastic lesson Mark. There is always something new to learn on your channel. I love how you explained outlining the chords. That such important info to know. And wow, the standard walking line and the funky line were so different, and the same notes. It really goes to show who changing the rhythm can change the whole feel of a song. Thanks for sharing.
Tried adding comment on your website---denied. This will do...Great little lines, and funky. #2 opens up my repetoire and is a great exercise for the pinkie!!
Wow, Mark, just WOW! 👌 I think this is the puzzle piece that will really get me going. It may even have inspired me to begin the Walking Bass course that I paid for months ago! 😜💚
Another great lesson! I'm going through the chord tone course on your website and it's filled with lots of practical info plus theory. I like your teaching style.
Mark, you said the chord was C7. I always get confused on how to tell if it's a Mj or Mn chord. You played a flattened 7th in your arpeggio, a C7 dominant arpeggio. On a chord designation, how can I tell if it's Major, Minor, or Dominant?
Amazing lesson! I just want to point out how annoying the tab placement is. When you pause the video to study it, it gets partially obscured by the video controls.
This was brilliant. My two flavours of choice, jazz and fun, bright together with fabulous examples. Thanks Mark

Get well soon from Britain!

@ Thank you for playing the bass! Stay strong and positive my friend.
Thank you Mark, by the way the colour of your bass is absolutely amazing.
I always like the simplistic way that you teach.

You nailed it for me. That was the clearest explanation of walkin that bass i've seen
I was struggling to write funk lines but this will help so much
Word. And it’s all on the one 💪
Lovely bass lesson.
Great idea for creating rhythmic interest. Thanks for sharing
This could not be explained and simpler and clearer. Mark, no one does this better.
I had to wait to get to it! Less than 2 mins in, It's great.
Excellent lesson! Thank you

Great lesson, Mark!
great lesson!
Thanks so much !
Excellent
So cool
If you took the first funked-up version and played it without rests it would work very well as a rock bass line
Fundamental lesson!!!
Let's funkyfize everything!!!
Are you using Flat wounds ?

C Major 7 would be Cmaj7, C Minor 7 would be Cm7, C Dominant 7 would be C7.
Nice,..BTW,... What is that strap you have?
Minotaur strap. 4.5 inch width. Cheaper than Levy’s Leathers (which I also use) but really good.

And a P bass! It somehow sounds like music. Of course, your brain connected to your hands has a bit to do with it as well.
🩵👊😎
Anyone who doesn't like walking bass is just a terrible person 😅
I thought that was Joe Biden in the thumbnail
Another comedian
Wobble your head a bit more.
