Hi Gabriel, The Tragedy of Othello, the Moor of Venice is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare, probably in 1603. The story revolves around two characters, Othello and Iago. Othello is a Moorish military commander who was serving as a general of the Venetian army in defense of Cyprus against invasion by Ottoman Turks. Richard the Leonhardt spoke French and Latin and at the time had dominion over parts of France. He sold Cyprus to the Templars, but they couldn't maintain power there was a revolt. The Templars wanted to give the Island back to Richard and he agreed. Guy de Lusignan, who was his friend, was having problems ruling in Jerusalem so he decided to resolve the issue by giving Guy Cyprus.

The Venetian lion was adopted from Alexander the Great. Because of Alexander’s blood line stemming back to Hercules, Alexander adapted the lion as the symbol of his Hellenic Empire. Since then the lion symbolises both power and royalty.
That is an amazing hotel room for a quite reasonable $45 USD. I'm still in shock with the prices you experienced in Switzerland. That room view in Northern Cyprus would easily go for $200 USD in the Swiss Alps. And let's not forget about the $27 USD for a cheese burger and fries in Zermatt.

Limani=λιμάνι, is a Greek word from the ancient Greek word of limin=λιμήν. Gabriel must have come across that word about a thousand times during his several visits of Greece.
The Greeks never accepted equal partnership with the Turks, they always pursued Enosis. If the Greeks had not destroyed the Cyprus constitution, the Turks would not have intervened. If the Greeks had accepted 12 percent of the island as a safe zone for the Turkish army, the Turks would not have launched the second operation. If the Greeks had accepted the 2-region federation, the Turks would not have declared the independence of Northern Cyprus. If the Greeks had accepted the Annan plan, the Turks would not have controlled 35 percent of the island. Never criticize your own mistakes

The majority of all those are still our stolen lands and properties
PLEASE
We expect from you people to RESPECT that..
Famagusta is a Latin word. The greeks they know the greek name that is AMMOHOSTOS....!!!!
We also use Famagusta, I'm a Catholic Greek.
There are two Tripolis. One in Lebanon and one in Libya . 😮
Also one in Greece.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos got it. Thanks.
gazimagusa limanı is turkish for Famagusta Port
Your story of the separation is incorrect
👍👍👍
I;m guessing that your next visit will be to Varosha? That would be an excellent video to watch but please keep on the designated paths and avoid any urbex adventures into any abandoned buildings, there is a raft of surveillance cameras and Turkish police watching you like a hawk…!
❤❤❤
LIMANI means PORT...!!!
Exactly.
Such a beautifull church. Sadly they ruined it with the minaret. zero respect for the people who did that.
The minaret in itself is a part of history, this was done many hundreds of years ago. Christians has done similar things, like converting mosques into churches in Granada, Spain and converting the pagan temple of Pantheon in Rome into a Roman Catholic church. It's all part of history.
@@vaultkeeper2 I dont care when it was happend. It's just terrible. If it was first a mosq and later a church i would have say the same thing. Just don't ruin buildings.
@@vaultkeeper2One key difference is that Spain was invaded my Islamists and then retook their lands.
@@kostasg7109you are wasting your time their mentality is we conquer and if you take back you are an invader...
Gabriel Famagusta is Turkish name, this is all wrong , the name of the city is AMMOHOSTOS.
No. Famagusta is the English and Latin name. Turkish name is Gazimagusa.
This city is also occupied. My home and properties are here and taken advantage by illegal settlers while I am not allowed to use them.
No you started a war trying to grab the whole island got your reply and now you cry with a lie
@@giuc100 I’m not the Turkish agent that bombed the Turkish embassy as a false flag operation or the Turkish TMT terrorist who killed Greek Cypriot civilians to provoke Greek Cypriots and forced Turkish Cypriots out of the Cypriot government . Learn some history. Apart from the truth of what happened in Cyprus you might also finally find out you’re just the weakest of Greeks who couldn’t afford to pay the ottomans the non Muslim tax
1 for sure not
Third.
It looks like a ruined Disney world.
this is not Cyprus. this is TRNC

What is your favourite city in cyprus because I am from cyprus And i'm from
My Favourite Kyrenia
Personally I like Limassol, Larnaca but I would really like to visit Famagusta too.

Turkish occupied Famagusta since 1974.

@@BrenThayer Right 😄 Tatars used to live there and still do, who are Turkish cousins. So, why did not they invade Crimea to "protect their Turkish brothers" there?

The video was not professional. I sugest you you that in the future you must employ a profesional cameraman. Andreas Zembylas a profesional cameraman and I worked for the state Television for 40 years.

I'm surprised they keep right hand drive, a remnant from the colonial era.
Switching sides is tricky.
As does almost every country in the Commonwealth except for Canada
FACT: greeks never built anything untill the arrival of Ottoman empire as they were not freely allowed to preach chiristianity under other nationalities which ruled cyprus. Buildings were given to greeks aswell as freedom to preach by Ottomans and not before! Cyprus which was ruled by different suzerains, but which never in its entire history came under Greek rule, was conquered by the Ottomans in 1571 and ruled by them until 1878 when Ottomans rented the island to England/British! so even this building was not belonging to the greek minority!
Beautiful Gazimağusa from Turkish Cyprus 👏👏👏
It's like a tragic ghost town compared to its splendid, original beauty from back in the day. It was glamorous, beautiful and well kept with the most stunning beaches; Hard working people fled for their lives and lost everything when the Turks invaded. Still no justice for those people.
05:08 What is Turkish flag doing on the church?
Famagusta is not "Turkiye". Also, Turks claim that so-called "TRNC" is not "Turkiye" either.
By the way, that is a very Gothic "mosque".
Every time I saw the TRNC flag there was also a Turkish flag right next to it.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos "TRNC" proudly displays its "independence" in every way.
@@tombuddy100Plenty of Greek flags in the south too, even on churches, along with the ROC flag. Doesn't mean the ROC isn't independent.
@@vaultkeeper2 Unlike "TRNC" flag, RoC flag at least represents Cyprus (all of it as matter of fact).
@@tombuddy100 Yet it is mainly Greek Cypriots who endorse and identify with that flag. And what are all those Greek flags doing there?
You're on the wrong side of the fence Gabe. Shame
