I had posted a video last year on my ASMRLarryGraves channel about this story and I was only going to post this updated video to my Facebook page, but decided to post it here as well.

Larry, you are truly a GENTLEMAN in every sense of the word. It's unfortunate that this woman at the dance didn't recognize that she had met a true GENTLEMAN in yourself. Life is funny in a strange way.....even though there wasn't a connection at the dance, look who later came into your life, Mollie......thank you for sharing this very intimate moment in your life. Namaste

It's sickening that so many women are so focused on money and seem to view men as banks, I'm so glad you're with Molly now. She seems to appreciate you for you which is what counts.

Larry, people don't realize how important our comments to others are,for example, when I was a little boy,one day we were swimming in one of the neighbors pools and I was a little chubby as a kid and one of the mothers made a negative comment about my body,Larry,I spent the rest of my youth never taking my shirt off because of that woman's comments made when I was eight or nine years old,it traumatized me in a way,I never publicly swam again till I was in my twenties, another example but in a positive way was once when I owned a Christian book store a woman came into my store and bought a Bible and she started to cry,I asked her why she was crying and she told me her son in law had just had a breakdown and that that was why she was buying the Bible for him, well Larry,I gave her a cheap little bookmark with his name on it to give to him thinking nothing of it,well about a month later she returned to my store this time all smiles and I pointed it out to her,she responded that it blew her son in law's mind that a stranger would actually give him something for nothing and that now he was doing well,Larry that was a minor thing that I did for him but to this man it was a really big deal so you just never know how what we say or do affects somebody else. Bob.

You're a very thoughtful person. I find people in life that have been thru a lot of pain become very aware of the words they use and the things they do. In that way, I guess you could consider yourself blessed. People that don't know humility go around being the asshats of society

I don't know you personally, Larry, but I have spent many hours watching your videos and commenting and reading your comments. And just from that I feel that your are really a genuinely good person. I'm glad you are in a better place than you were back then and able to keep making us laugh. Take care of yourself Larry. God's blessings to you.

Great video Larry. I can relate to what you when through. 2015 was my year of hell but things turned around in Feb. 2016. While I'm not exactly where I'd like to be at least I'm in a better place now. Thanks for the video!

You are a sweetheart Larry. Emotionally I have just been through the same thing but my head is in the sunshine now. It sounds to me like singles dance lady is quite lonely and is seeking comfort from material things as validation for the screw up she has made of her personal life. You are in a good space where you have the outlook if it happens it happens, if it doesn't i have a roof over my head, a good job, cats and music. That's all you need in life, everything else is a bonus. Judging by those clips i definitely think you should try acting again. Keep the videos going, i live on my own and it's kind of nice to have you chatting to me before i sleep. Cheers Larry - purveyor of quality entertainment 😊

There was a woman I used to work with who would probably have said, "That's not good enough." She was very forthright and didn't seem to care about other people's feelings. Not surprisingly she wasn't well-liked. There's no great pay-off to this story, but the longer I worked with her, the more I realised that she never intended to hurt other people's feelings through what she said - she had no idea she was doing it. I really think she just didn't realise that other people *have* feelings. It was a borderline mental illness. I'm obviously not saying this applies to the woman at the dance. But, you know, it *was* a singles dance, and there was a reason why she was there and not somewhere else enjoying her fabulous life. And presumably she didn't know what that reason was, but I guess you figured it out. What I learnt from the woman I worked with was that really, whether she had meant to hurt people or not, she was deserving of sympathy if only because she didn't know what sympathy was.

I can't believe that woman told you that your job was not good enough and yes she was in the wrong but we constantly worry that we don't measure up to others with career looks. True Larry you have to be okay with yourself. I've had some horrid things said to me in the past that have stuck with me and haunted me what can I say some people are ass hats.

  • @AnthonyKiyola

Very good video. I'm glad you could pick yourself up. You must be so proud of yourself. It shows that you really do have a strong character. As for the lady, it sounded like she was trying to cover up her own insecurities. She has a house and two cars but not too much else. I know someone like that but there is a very bad back story to her life. She tends too boast about what she has because she was bullied at school and later had an abusive husband who left her with almost nothing. The lady you met might have had a similarly bad experience. Anyway, you seem extremely honest and are open about yourself. That's the key to fighting depression and dealing with insecurities. You are right that we shouldn't be quick to judge others because there is so much we don't know about the people we meet.

I never had much,, but I had my 2 children, when I see someone that looks like they have it all, sometimes they are not happy, when I fell down, I think of what or who I do have, and I have your channel! Life is good. You at least put your best forward, I wouldn't have the confidence to do what you do keep going and thank you! Suppose be feal not fell, smart phone, correcting me backwards.

Thank you Larry. I've watched a couple of those serious videos now and I really like them, because like this we can see more of your personality. Thank you for sharing that, I feel like being understood now.
Well, we're both pisces. And although I don't necessarily believe in zodiac signs and of course people are different, even if they share a zodiac sign, pisces are known for being thoughtful and looking for the really important things like kindness and maybe even a true love in life. I agree, money or whatever kind of status is not as important as being kind to each other and treating one another with respect. And if someone says the other one is not "good enough", that's really hard and rude. I hope this woman really regretted what she said, because you danced with her nonetheless and walked her to her car.

I'm sorry to hear that you felt judged, and I'm glad to hear you picked yourself up. My one piece of advice to people is to not care too much what other people think, but for many that is not easy. When it comes to judging others, it's best to be all defense and no offense.

  • @ouroborosnagyok9306

It so much easier said than done but never let that bullshit bother you, trust me, I know it’s hard
I have a hard time dealing with peoples opinions and trying to fit in and find my place in this world, I’m only 19 but I understand how that feels, It’s really hard living amongst people you feel are really different making you feel so isolated
I have a problem with the “things will get better” line I’ve been told though, I don’t believe it, it hasn’t ever gotten better and I don’t see why it would, things get better when you act not when you wait, the problem is that I can never do it
I just hope for me that I’ll have a few semi-good years left before it’s over, but with you I know you’ll be alright bc you’re a really good guy who isn’t a misfit and isn’t afraid

Been out of work for 4 years. Can't even get a temp job. Not sure how it is up there but down here if you are a middle aged white male, you are pretty much screwed. I supported my wife all through college, gave up having a family for her career, walked away from my first family for her, and now she's saying I'm gone if I don't find work soon. Point to my story Larry, stay single. They are all the same. There are only two things that matter to a woman and if you cant provide both its better to just stay alone because eventually they'll leave and you'll be sitting there alone anyway only a lot more hurt. Probably gonna wish I hadn't posted this 20 seconds after I do. Btw, we've been together 19 years this month . . .

I was judged alot when I was younger because of my height... Alot of people thought I was really dense and mentally slow just because I'm 6'4.5" approaching 6'5

What's your take on MGTOW? None of my bees wax, but if you're looking for a woman...You might try an enneagram type 9.
