The fuel situation is beginning to be sorted. A buddy had his car written off and he found out from the recovery company where his car was being held after the accident and he mentioned he only just filled the car up with diesel 10 miles previous to the crash and they told him some insurance companies are taking pictures of the dash when they are assessing them for repair or writing them off. so eventually if cars go for sale in places like copart and the fuel is not showing similar to photo taken when they are assessed the insurers will add a charge to copart for removal of fuel to the roughvalue that's missing . So hopefully fuel theft will become a thing of the past soon at copart.
Chris has his 'winter car', a small van, with heated seats, cheap tax and a tow hook with the Passat. When Spring comes, Chris will say ' I need it for a few more weeks Rob....'.
Really impressed with you two guys! Cars are my life, love the bloody things, watching the way you conduct yourselves and the business isn’t anything short than marvellous! Straight, honest, fair and a good job 👍🏻 Brilliant stuff
Peak design. Even the cockpit is timeless (minus the infotainment screen) it’s everything you need really. New cars are vulgar compared to this era of VAG cars.
Come on Rob don’t beat yourself up! Nice to see you’re human and Chris has your back. Love your channel best wishes to you both and your families this holiday season.
I've got a TDI tuning box for this 1.6 diesel if you are interested. It's only 105 bhp and if memory serves me well, when overtaking the power suddenly drops off. The box puts it up to 125 and is more drivable. Torque also gets a boost for towing 😉
They are bullet proof those old 2.0tdi engines a oil change every 10,000 and they will go on for ever I’ve seen them over 300,000 miles nice car that and for every thing working a nice purchase rob👍🏻
Hi Rob & Chris.. nice little purchase, and a result for Chris to use as a work hack.. great car the Passat Estate.. lovely job by Chris on that front wing..👍👍 Alex.
Vw passat. The coach company i worked for had one as a pool car for running up and down to dover . 550 miles round trip. Absolutely brilliant car. The 1.8 diesel engine was bullet proof. It was going strong when sold at over 250,000 miles.
Ide say the wheels have been swapped while at copart specially has there so far out of track on the rear and like you said insurance wouldn’t pay out if tires were like that
Taylor Pitstop rear window sticker: used car dealer, Black Corner Garage, Balcombe Road, Crawley. Rec9gnised the sticker and name. Brilliant videos, thank you.
I've owned a 64 reg passat bluemotion like that for a couple of years. 163k and still going well. I paid a lot more than £925 back then,. I paid £4,900 :O I often use mine as a van and a 6 foot fridge freezer goes in without really having to move the front seats! :)
Ooh a quick flip car !! Not seen one of theese for a while . Fantastic packed video, so enjoyed this video ❤ !!! Looking forward to this E V comming !!!!
What a business model co part have. Don't guarantee any pictures, half describe the condition and nick the diesel . Makes a back street garage look honest
I love the fact you show us the lemons as well as the winners. Keep it coming lads. Proper down to earth guys. Big plus is keeping the cars at a reasonable level. I like other TH-cam car builders doing the big expensive builds but I'm more likely to buy a passat than a Ferrari anytime soon 🤣
Passat wagons often split the rear washer hose up at the roof. So when you wash the rear screen it soaks the rear wiring harness and causes electrical gremlins with the boot lock and other tailgate electrics..
I learned quite fast that when you own a VW or Audi wagon you don't use the rear window washer. You go to the gas station instead to wash the rear window by hand.
That Passat was a perfect buy, lovely quick turnaround and you did your usual fantastic job. As for the Corsa: shame, but that's the cost of doing business sometimes
Rob we've all bought a lemon....but sometimes being brave gets you bargains....and you've done well so far. Fair play for showing and explaining the Corsa....both of you are as honest as they come. 👌👍
Just a quick FYI sometimes in the vids you say I will insert a photo now… and you forget to do it. Just thought I would point it out. Great update lads.
Good car that Passat. Be nice to have seen more of Chris's skills with the wing and bumpers than a few taps on timelapse... Hey Ho it'll be a good car for someone, if it doesn't let Chris down over winter
A lovely summary of so many projects. And everyone has to trip up on a rough one sooner or later. Mind you, that was a really rough one! Great work as always
Hello Rob and Chris, another brilliant video, what a nice car the VW is,£35 a year tax and plenty of space to move stuff.the clean has made a difference.the new look and mirror soon sorted the BMW out,
The car is never the property of Copart and it belongs to the seller, in this case the insurance, so them taking out fuel or any item is actually theft.
was that corsa crashed in birmingham, then shipped down, bet 10 people claimed they got whiplash in it... thanks for showing it, it proves it is not easy picking cars, even with all your years in the trade, it is still easy to get burnt now and again... keep it up chaps
A Nice Passat estate (van with windows) and not a bad colour either. Those insurance boys never looked at that car with those tyres in that state but you sorted it very nicely . Chris with his bit of bodywork and Rob doing the tyres and so on. The BMW looks very nice Gents now it is complete but by contrast the Vauxhall Corsa was a lemon! As you say Rob you rarely mess up and to be fair £300.00 is not a lot to lose in the car trade, you did get some tent pegs though so that is a bonus! Thanks for another great video Rob and Chris with a bit of everything in there very well done. 👍👍
Took my first ever Facebook marketplace gamble on a 2012 fiesta zetec with 25k cat s repaired …….. slight knocking while turning on the test drive and all it needed was two bottom arms. Think I did well for £1500
Brilliant price on the tyres.. thanks for putting corsa clip in.. if it was easy everyone would be doing it .. Chris is my type of person. I have an octavia Estate. I use it for everything..
That boot catch is very common to be wrong, supposedly the washer pipe leaks onto it and they stop working. Had the same on my golf, only cheap even on eBay, bought one of the cheapest and worked beautifully.
It's crazy what insurance will write off when so little is needed to make a decent runabout for someone. Nice work chaps, that looks cracking after a clean!
Taylors Pitstop are one of the largest independent car sales specialists in Surrey and West Sussex. We are a family owned business that has been Black Corner Garage, Balcombe Rd, Crawley, Horley RH6 9SP
Makes perfect sense to keep that Passat for a bit, keep the miles off the defender and snag it for an extended period. Great work chaps. Love the more mundane stuff too.
The passats are such great cars. We had a 2014 for 10 years and never failed an MOT just serviced it 3 times and a cam belt and it went on like a dream. It was heartbreaking when it went.
The problem with older cars and insurers is any minor small non structural damage means the car is automatically written off due to cost of repairs these days.
Do love a Passat. Not the most exciting cars to look at or drive but super comfortable and economical cheap and cheerful. One question have you ever considered raffling some of the cars?
Another great video. These easy fixes are interesting for DIY people, who don’t have the facilities you have. Could you also include the odd video of the bidding, explaining the reasons you bid for a car?
The fuel situation is beginning to be sorted. Nice to see a bread and butter car back in the garage guys.
Straight, honest, fair and a good job 👍🏻
Brilliant stuff
Everyone does love a Passat wagon. Drive well, efficient, reliable and practical. Look classy too.
I think these are very underrated, far prefer to an SUV
The Chris `this could be a keeper` moment was when he mentioned the electric tow hook 🤩🤩🤩
Perfect timing guys , just finished watching deano😊
Same 😅
That generation of VW styling really is timeless. Looks really smart for a 2012. They peaked and have since gone backwards in terms of styling
Peak design. Even the cockpit is timeless (minus the infotainment screen) it’s everything you need really. New cars are vulgar compared to this era of VAG cars.
Sometimes these cheaper quick flips are better than a higher value build
Well done guys 👏🏼
Great to see some variation in the content, love a cheap fixer uppper
Come on Rob don’t beat yourself up! Nice to see you’re human and Chris has your back. Love your channel best wishes to you both and your families this holiday season.

Guys just wanted to say, a great video, you highlighted 3 cars, was different and such a variety of cars, have a great week.
They are bullet proof those old 2.0tdi engines a oil change every 10,000 and they will go on for ever I’ve seen them over 300,000 miles nice car that and for every thing working a nice purchase rob👍🏻
Couldn't agree more with you.
Had the CC version few years ago - better days of VW before touch screens and white-line Lane markers !
Love the variety of cars you repair, but got to admit the passat is my kind of vehicle
Hi Rob & Chris.. nice little purchase, and a result for Chris to use as a work hack.. great car the Passat Estate.. lovely job by Chris on that front wing..👍👍 Alex.
Great video again. I used your Tayna discount code last week for a new battery, it was very much appreciated :-)
Vw passat. The coach company i worked for had one as a pool car for running up and down to dover . 550 miles round trip. Absolutely brilliant car. The 1.8 diesel engine was bullet proof. It was going strong when sold at over 250,000 miles.
Ide say the wheels have been swapped while at copart specially has there so far out of track on the rear and like you said insurance wouldn’t pay out if tires were like that
The rear tyres were an advisory only on the MOT in July, so the insurance would pay out on it
Especially since they said the car had been well looked after. I doubt the owner would run a car on such dangerous tyres.
Taylor Pitstop rear window sticker: used car dealer, Black Corner Garage, Balcombe Road, Crawley. Rec9gnised the sticker and name. Brilliant videos, thank you.
Back in the 1990s they were a Rover dealership. Now an independent.
I've owned a 64 reg passat bluemotion like that for a couple of years. 163k and still going well. I paid a lot more than £925 back then,. I paid £4,900 :O I often use mine as a van and a 6 foot fridge freezer goes in without really having to move the front seats! :)
Variety is good for the channel. Gives some of us amateurs an idea of whether that 'cheap car' we see is a chance of having some profit in it.
It's a very cheap business model 😁
You guys are so thoughtful and thorough great to watch people that pride themselves with good quality work morals and honesty 👏 👍 👌 😊
Now then lads loved this multi car video ,cant wait to see this sparky car ,crack on !!
What are the chances they subbed on some tyres at the same time they liberated the diesel?
Enjoyed the mix, guys, a tale of beauty and the beast! The Passat will be a good workhorse, a bargain and easy fix for the experts. 👏👏👏
Keep mixing it up, boys loving the content. 😎😎😎
Passat has a Bristol registration number, a good car for 200,000 miles. A nice fix !.
Fantastic Passat, beautiful car. Well done gentlemen.
Really great vid. Never imagined a 12 year old car with 101k would be worth less than £4k so smashing deal for someone. Well done guys.
Chris keeping it for heated seats 😂fair play lads great video again
That Passat was a perfect buy, lovely quick turnaround and you did your usual fantastic job. As for the Corsa: shame, but that's the cost of doing business sometimes
Very enjoyable as always guys!
I love the way you guys do business its great to see
I like these ones much more than the expensive car's strangely.
I flippin knew Chris was having that....he wouldn't get out of that heated seat! 😂 cracking work chaps!
Rob we've all bought a lemon....but sometimes being brave gets you bargains....and you've done well so far. Fair play for showing and explaining the Corsa....both of you are as honest as they come. 👌👍
Rob you look after Reclamet they look after you it's how things get done in Business That way everyone's a winner
I enjoyed that and had a chuckle about that corsa like you said you win some you lose some 👍
Just a quick FYI sometimes in the vids you say I will insert a photo now… and you forget to do it. Just thought I would point it out. Great update lads.

Hello Rob and Chris, another brilliant video, what a nice car the VW is,£35 a year tax and plenty of space to move stuff.the clean has made a difference.the new look and mirror soon sorted the BMW out,
Good evening Rob and Chris, great video and the VW looked good. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged.
Passat best car out there. Got a B8 and I love it
The car is never the property of Copart and it belongs to the seller, in this case the insurance, so them taking out fuel or any item is actually theft.
I bought a car and it came with no fuel too but the pictures showed a full tank
CONpart said they take it out for safety
Sometimes they take my fuel out sometimes they don’t
Out of the cars and straight into their own private cars I’d bet.
Funny thing is its safer with a tank of fuel than an empty tank .@OK247OK
They remove the fuel due to insurance reasons regarding fires etc
Another excellent video, and for a selling price of £3k you'll have people biting off your hand to have the car.
I’ve got one of these and that mileage on yours is barely broken in. Mines up at 225,000 now and still runs like a dream.
178k here 🎉
Had one company car great motor 10-12 years ago Christ where has those years gone
was that corsa crashed in birmingham, then shipped down, bet 10 people claimed they got whiplash in it...
thanks for showing it, it proves it is not easy picking cars, even with all your years in the trade, it is still easy to get burnt now and again... keep it up chaps
Cheaper cars are more interesting lads 👍
Yes, but their time spent on more expensive cars is more financially rewarding.
Boot catch from amazon about £17. I had to get one for my Passat. Mine has done 165k and still runs like a dream.
Bonkers that a 12 year old passat now goes for this kind of money, bought a 10 year old pd130 back in the day for 1200 quid.
Great video, definitely enjoyed this one
Cheers lads
Brilliant video, as always, boys. You do get some weird comments on this channel! Lol. Cheers.
Roulette without the gambling - I love your turn of phrase Bobby!
A Nice Passat estate (van with windows) and not a bad colour either. Those insurance boys never looked at that car with those tyres in that state but you sorted it very nicely . I like me a Passat AWD diesel wagon. Drove an R-Line up and down the UK a few years back.
Took my first ever Facebook marketplace gamble on a 2012 fiesta zetec with 25k cat s repaired …….. slight knocking while turning on the test drive and all it needed was two bottom arms. Think I did well for £1500
Great as always lads fuel gauge pic would be a laugh!
Cheap Diesel Estate . Ya just know Chris ain't letting it go lol . Great little video lads . looking forward to the next one .
Great video boys . Taylor’s pit stop based in Horley Surrey. Used car dealership.
Nice fast turn around and really liked the multiple updates. Great little car for Chris to run around in, who doesn't love a passat. 😂
It's crazy what insurance will write off when so little is needed to make a decent runabout for someone. Nice work chaps, that looks cracking after a clean!
Taylors Pitstop are one of the largest independent car sales specialists in Surrey and West Sussex. We are a family owned business that has been

Chris is a demon on the dolly hammers saved a good wing and money
If the Passat hasn't a service history for the timing belt , I'd think ye should replace it, great vedio 👍
Ha! I knew it; as soon as I saw that Passat, I knew it was going to end up with Chris!
That Corsa! There’s scraping the barrel, and there’s looking underneath it!
Wouldn't mind betting they swapped tyres too . Well done both .😊
Co Part are rogues, no doubt of that.
Well done guy's. Chris has got a new run around👍
Taylors pitstop is near me guys in Surrey. keep up the brilliant content BTW.
Be great to see some more of these achieveable "quick flips", still make great content and seems to be a decent payday for you guys, win win
Well done guys, true to your word about the bmw, also Chris needs a runaround, great content again
Nice one for being honest and showing your losses a lot of companies only show the wins 👍🏻
Nice video guys and a good help for Chris. 👍👍👍👍
Loving the variety guys.
Great result guys, good that Chris can use it too.✌
lol clearly not silly enough Rob, love it :)
Good to see some premium rubber fitted to that Passat!!!!
Hahahaha ditchfinders.
Having seen most of your videos, I can't recall you guys ever making much of a mistake. I'm sure any company would be proud of your record.
Great video gents
thankyou gentlemen excellent content,,👌👌
The problem with older cars and insurers is any minor small non structural damage means the car is automatically written off due to cost of repairs these days.
Rob that garage is in Crawley near Gatwick.
Do love a Passat. Not the most exciting cars to look at or drive but super comfortable and economical cheap and cheerful. One question have you ever considered raffling some of the cars?
👍Thank you guys. Keep em comin!
Tenterton golf club is not far from you boys near Ashford bet is was parked down the end of the car park though. Great content yet agian.
Tenterton is miles away from them! Their place is just off Sheppy Way!
Another great video. These easy fixes are interesting for DIY people, who don’t have the facilities you have. Could you also include the odd video of the bidding, explaining the reasons you bid for a car?
Be handy car for you Chris ,good cars them Passats, good viewing again guys
