In Haunted House, your job is to find the 5 key combination's, scattered in random rooms about the house to unlock the cellar door.
After that, your final task is to find the front door key in the cellar. No cursor cue to help you this time, you'll have to keep clicking on objects until you find it!.
There's no danger, no game overs, no save points - just...fun, I suppose.
Unfortunately, as far as I know, this CD-ROM is no longer in production and copies are extremely scarce on sites like Amazon and Ebay. Hell, there's literally NO videos of it on TH-cam, or apparently the internet itself from what I can tell.
I had been looking for my original copy for over a year, when it mysteriously appeared earlier today.
So, running it in Windows 95 compatibility mode, I thought I'd fire up Camtasia and show y'all one of my favourite childhood games.

I worked at Media Station when we produced Haunted House. It was the first game I did as the Title Designer, which basically meant I wrote the script for what would happen in the game. Working there was a blast. The talent at the company was amazing.
That's awesome! This is the game that probably cemented my love of adventure games for life even if I'm terrible at them lol.
@@HellfirePlaythroughs It's been surprising to see how many adults post fond comments about those games Media Station built in the mid-90s.That entire industry collapsed almost over night. It still baffles me. Did we run out of 4-8 year olds? No one has made those types of games for 20 years.
I remember my dad showed me this game as a kid. It was one of my favourite games for the art style, sounds, and all the cool easter eggs. That plus I was obsessed with Halloween!
@Victor Lorran Thanks! We had a really talented group of 20-somethings right out of college. Artists, musicians, programmers, writers. An amazing experience.

This is the first time I have thought about this game in 20 years. I played it all the time growing up. It's been so long.

I have the game and the book brand new.
I played this game when I was a kid, and it was the first game that ever scared me. It gave me nightmares. But even then, idk what it was, but I absolutely loved it. Brings back memories 😂
Haunted House was probably the most well-known title I worked on. I remember it was featured in TV Guide on Halloween week. It was pretty exciting to see a game I worked on getting kudos in a national magazine.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for this upload. I still have the awesome pop-up book I got as a kid from my grandfather, and to see everything in motion made my day, so many memories of my childhood friends and me having fun with that weird and bizarre book. Again, thank you.

This game was a big part of my childhood
I had the demo when I was little, it only had the kitchen area but loved it! I randomly had the octopus in my head just now and looked around expecting to find nothing, but here it is!

Just been searching on the web for any infomation about this game, suppirised wiki didn't even have an article :( I just found our original box set which apprently was made by Phillips :S , but great upload matey, you are the only evidence on the web that I've found for this good ol' game :)

This game was based off of a children's pop-up book of the same name. The game's tile screen looks like the cover and the rooms in the game look like its pages, just without the huge-ass monsters in the middle of them.

I loved playing this game as a kid! Recently managed to get a copy from eBay for nostalgia purposes after quite a bit of searching but as it is so old I'm struggling to get it working :-(

I thought this was a game that I've been searching for for a really long time but it's not. The one I'm thinking of is like this but you had to interact with things to scare away the people that lived in the house. Maybe it is this? I dunno I'm old.
@loquenoseve I had this as a kid in the eighties too; I found this vid linked to from Mr. Pienkowski's official website. Sadly my battered copy was lost to antiquity but I was able to get a much later reprint off eBay. It hasn't changed!
