every bigbang member can stand alone, they have solo careers and explode as a group. no matter how many controversies, they are truly the kings of kpop. this is a live performance. legendary performance, bigbang!
They can be a soloist, and can be back together as a group 🔥
The women with beanie is Lee Hyori. She consider a Legend/Diva. She and Daesung used to be in a variety show call family outing started in 2008-2010. And TOP kiss her in one of Big bang performance feat her. The latest work that she do is, she is in a group call Refund Sisters ,consists of Uhm Jung-Hwa, Jessi and Hwasa from Mamamoo. But this is just one time for a variety show.

I believe she had her big comeback this same year with Miss Korea and Bad Girl. Honestly might have been her last big solo comeback. I don't remember her doing anything after this that wasn't a collab or appearance.

Only Bigbang had that long time of preformance. It was really a concert not just awards. Kings not without reason :)
RJ please check out 2NE1!! Also their MAMA performance in 2015 too. They are the first girl group from YG. We can all agree that, 2NE1 is one of the most powerful group in Kpop History, even now in the present. And, the 2NE1 Era in Kpop Industry is something that no other group could remake. I mean, their performance in everywhere they perform is always a concert level performance. 2NE1 has the unfathomable fierce, aura, and charisma which makes them superior to every other group. BIGBANG is the king of Kpop, and 2NE1 is the queen of K-pop. They are also very close to each other, they even have a song together 😂 You should definitely check out 2NE1.

BigBang always got more time than other artists, for example in MELON MUSIC AWARDS 2015, they performed 5 songs (If you, loser, bang bang bang, sober, fantastic baby).
Wish you could react to the encore part of YG Family Tour 2014 (YG FAMILY JAPAN TOUR 2014 [2NE1 x BIGBANG x iKON x WINNER x EPIK HIGH x LEE HI). It was for the good old days when 2NE1, EPIK HIGH, LEE HI and PSY still were in YG and before iKON debut ( they called Team B).
Unfortunately I understand Daesung was sick so he could not perform solo too . I dont know if you heard but TOP is part of a crew who plans to go to the moon next year 😊 . BigBang is really 5 complete artists that somehow still manage to function as a group and not eclipse each other.
I don't remember reading that Daesung was sick when this came out in 2013. My understanding was that the other 4 members had songs that came out in 2013 (even Taeyang and T.O.P's songs came out right before MAMA) while Daesung didn't. idk if YG asked if Daesung could perform "Wings" and were rejected. It would be strange considering they could've just squeezed in another 2 minutes since G-Dragon used the "Sober" intro as part of his performance. Maybe MAMA wanted singles to be performed only if Daesung were to be performed.
Top and Hyori (the woman in the beanie) have quite the history together at mama 😂

The intro verse sang by GD here, “without you…” was not part of the song. It turned out to be a song called “Sober” they later released in 2016. Once again it proved that GD is a music genius, he make his own music and flex it every time.
No. Only a few artists/groups got a long air time like Bigbang do in the past. This is a BIGBANG thing we all came to MAMA for BIGBANG in HONG KONG.

The first part before G-Dragon's Crooked (9:43 - 10:14) is actually a verse from Sober by Bigbang. And Sober dont even exist in 2013:)
You can clearly see this is not just a job for them. It's their passion. Being themselves. They're like a fish in water on stage.
Thats why there is a famous line that says" NO YG, NO PARTY" meaning if there are no YG artist invited in award shows, there is no performance like this. Not saying that other groups are not doing well but its just that YGArtists perform differently because they do not focus on choreography but rather how to interact with fans and fellow artist thats why it seems like a concert and also shwcasing their live vocals. They dont really on heavy backtracks and that is why they dont dance that much or follow the choreography.
MAMA 2022 has become alive again because of TREASURE. They perform and hype the crowd that other 4th gen failed to do. Treasure really represents the true essence of YG in this 4th generation.
The tall girl with the beanie that you saw BigBang dancing with during their MAMA 2013 performance was Lee Hyori, who was the leader of the first generation girl group Fin.K.L that debuted in 1998 and now is a solo Kpop idol/Diva. BigBang has worked with her on different projects over the years. She is someone everyone in Korea knows and respects as one of the founders of the Kpop industry.
And the girls in white that were dancing behind Lee Hyori are Seohyun and Hyoyeon, who are members of Girls Generation (SNSD).
I'm not sure if you noticed the girls standing behind them with the colorful outfits and the helmets on, but that was the members of the girl group Crayon Pop, who debuted the same year as EXO.
The girls you saw sitting in front of Baekhyun (and EXO) were the members of 2NE1 -- Dara, CL, Bom and Minzy -- BigBang's sister group.
And no, BigBang didn't get more time on stage than other artists. MAMA 2013 was the same MAMA award show that EXO performed their Beauty and the Beast "Growl" and "Wolf" performance, with the fight scene between Luhan and Kai, that I think you saw, which had a pretty epic and long stage performance as well. Mama awards looked like bigbang concert with all these crown lightsticks.
The other groups were Lee Hyorin (She appeared in nununana song ) girls generation (Hyeo and seohyun) 2NE1 (dara, cl , bom and minzy) another was crayon pop.

Yes because it's bigbang. They always get the longest performance time because they are exciting. Everyone tune in to watch them. Their live performance remains the highest rating in mama history. Also, all bigbang's mama appearance rocks, do check them out. Daesung was sick that time so he couldn't perform his solo song. But u should check out his solo stuff tho cause he did trot which is a traditional Korean genre n I don't think any other kpop idols has done this genre before
Still remember when I watched this legend perf in 2013. Got teary eyed when Daesung appeared in pink suits. VIPs screamed.....

Bigbang performances has high broadcast ratings in MAMA. They’re performances are much awaited. Their live performances and music arrangements are definitely top notched.

when it comes to bigbang, every performance is an experience of its own. None of them feels the same even if its the same set of songs. The vibe, the concept, the rearrangement, the adlibs - its always different so it feels like hearing the song for the first time again if not, in a different way again.

The girl they pulled out from the artist seat, is Lee Hyori. She's a famous solo singer, a stardom popularity when she was at her peak, used to be in a girlgroup FIN.KL in early 00s. She had collaborations and CFs with BIGBANG members particularly, TOP and Daesung. Very chill person. She's still active but has become more reserved with her popularity that transcends for decades.
She's not that reserved when she's in Jessi's videos. Lol
if I'm not mistaken, this is the first time daesung come back after the accident, coincidentally he had some problem with his voice that's why he wasn't perform solo as g dragon not let him to perform solo, g dragon afraid if he perform solo its going to make his throath problem getting worse, so they put him he into eye catching suit so anyone will notice him coming in the middle as fantastic baby song which gd only allow him to sing his part...
This is actually one of my favorite BIGBANG MAMA performances since they are able to showcase their solo songs. Such a shame that Dae was sick that day. But this is also fire. Apart from MAMA, they have other live perfs from SBS and Melon.
Bigbang invented stage presence. Bigbang always get a longer time in award shows and they usually go out at the finale.

The thing with this MAMA, GD already sing the snippet of SOBER as his entrance. 2013 and they released the songs in MADE album 2 years later and completed in 2017.
And that's why MADE album is so iconic and their one of the best album ever.
BECAUSE it literally MADE years by years.

The lady in the long dress that Taeyang pulled into dancing is Lee Hyori. She had previous interactions with Bigbang on an earlier Mama stage. T.O.P kissed her on the lips during their performance which is not in the script. Really happy that you are back with some BIGBANG. Enjoyed your reaction. Maybe they got longer because 4 of them released solos in 2013. For interest, GD was main writer and producer of Ringa Linga, Let's talk about love and Crooked (song of the year at MAMA) - 2013. GD also wrote Strong Baby - 2008. Of course, TOP wrote Doom Dada - 2013.
Stages were longer back then but they give Bigbang and 2NE1 a platform more because, at that time, they really bring in the viewers and physical crowd. Back then when Bigbang and 2NE1 is announced to perform, everybody expects a party and great stages with their stage presence. All those sets were from Bigbang members themselves. They're amazing because they make their ideas come to life through their stages. You should watch their documentary. You will really see how well thought out each stage is and how they really consider their fans and what they could feel within that experience. Thank you so much for reacting to this performance! This is one of my most favorite performances from them. You should definitely check out their performance in MAMA 2010. That's seriously good, as well!
