I just sat down to watch the movie and I was constantly thinking about these lines in particular:
"Promises cannot be broken."
Violet's pinky promise to Yuris that she would deliver the letters and not excessively worry about him.
"Every mistake that's made, it will remain."
This is double-folded. Obviously, Violet's grief at the amount of innocent strangers she killed - but also Gilbert's guilt for preventing her from having a normal, carefree childhood.
Finally, the titular line: "Oh, so this is free WILL."
Violet managing to make a name for herself as an influential scribe who is compassionate and gentle.
Gilbert no longer adhering to his father's desires and deciding to teach those precocious kids to become functioning members of the small society that is Ekarte Island.
The remaining Dolls and their adjustment to the invention of the telephone. Even if their jobs do become obsolete, that doesn't devalue or retcon their abundant quality work. In fact, the "horrible device" could open up a lot more career opportunities that would allow them to gain more social skills and insight into the beautiful world of Leidenschaftlich. After all, just like the Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said: "The only constant in life is change."
Violet Evergarden is more than just an anime, it's a vehicle for profound and constructive discussion about the world we live in and how each and every one of us plays a vital role in breathing life into springtime's budding leaves. 😉

This movie is a sequel to the television series. Episode 10 of the television series was the story of a girl who suffers when she finds out that her mother is about to die. The story of the movie begins shortly after the girl dies old. A large number of letters were found as her granddaughter sorted out the relics of her grandmother. They were letters entrusted to her grandmother's mother to be sent to her daughter each year after her death. The name of the woman who wrote those letters is Violet Evergarden. Her granddaughter embarked on a journey to follow in the footsteps of Violet Evergarden.
