Brilliant Glenda. Maxine used to photograph lots of abandoned places. I'll make sure she watches this. Thank you

Aw thanks. The copper mines are really interesting. I grew up near there so have rummaged about in them loads over the years.

All these years that I've been camping on the beaches between St. Abbs and Fast Castle Head and a short distance inland is yet another great place to visit and explore that I never knew about!
I'll add this to my itinerary for the two day trip I'll soon be making up there with Mrs Paddler.
What a beautiful scene at 3:58 and then you point upwards to the bridge then back down to the flowing burn at 4:12 🙂 excellent footage! (Is it Whiteadder Water?)
    Cheers 👍

Thank you for the lovely comments. Yes it’s the Whiteadder water. You can start from the Grantshouse to Duns road. It’s a couple of miles to the broch and then up to the summit of Cockburn Law. The copper mines are just west of the swing bridge. 10 minute walk from bridge on left hand side of river. Please ask if you need better directions.

@@glendaandthepinkwarrig thanks very much Glenda, your offer of help is much appreciated.
I intend to make a weekend of it up there as I very much like the look of the John Muir CP area from yours and Bruce's videos, so I'll probably pick your brain for ideas of little known and off the beaten track places to visit!
I will also browse your TH-cam thumbnails and make a list from those.
We like to explore places that aren't featured in holiday travel brochures 😁
Thanks again and before the weekend we come up I'll probably message you for directions 🙂👍

@tonypaddler I’ll gladly help out with directions. I’m on instagram as ‘pedal_girl_power’, if that helps for messaging.

Were the green bits at the mine entrance oxidised copper deposits, or maybe moss?

For sure copper. I grew near there and it was a regular thing to go there and hack up bits of rock to see the copper inside.
