- It’s August 17th, 2020, this is a walking tour of our nursery. This is what we have for sale now. Currently everything is only $6.97 each. In the spring of 2021 we’ll have some plants that will sell for more.
So inspirational!! I'm gonna get there in 3-5 years I hope. I have about 2000 plants from cuttings I bought last fall and this spring. REALLY INEXPENSIVE. I'm getting cuttings from some of those plants already...mock orange, blueberries, hydrangea, crape myrtle, etc....guys, just start. It's not that hard. I wasted so much time wondering if Mike's backyard system really works. IT DOES!!! I will start selling next spring, and I'll have approximately 3000 plants to begin with. I'm just afraid I'll run out! That's $21,000 from part-time evenings and weekends, on top of my regular other job!! And that's only since October! I'm going to be 62 on the first of September! This work is lightweight and easy. I'm drawing my retirement and cutting back my hours at my day job so I can work more on my plants. If you've been on the fence, just start. You can do this too!

Hi Mike thanks for the tour of a fantastic garden. It's very commendable that you've shared these tips & tricks about starting a plant nursery. I especially love the idea of those mini shade houses for the plants I haven't seen this in our nurseries here in the tropics where the sun can be brutal & because they are mini shade houses they serve as double duty for elevated surface for other plants that love the sun.

I am in Eastern Ky. here the mulberry trees has about completely died out. I have been looking a long time to try to get a source some people think they are Gold and I KNOW they are basically weeds in Indiana. When I find some online they are in the 30 - 60 dollar range. I am trying to bring back some natural trees to my area including more paw paws and plums. Your Channel has been inspired for me to do more and doing Grafts now and air layers ready to do more in the hard wood cuttings for rooting. Do you have an idea of where can get some trees or cuttings ?? The few have seen are on other coast and sell sometimes 1000 at a time. TY

In an earlier video, you shared the size pot you use for most of your plants. I see in this video you have lots of things in smaller square pots. Do you move your cuttings to the 4-inch?? square pot initially and later put them up in the larger pots?

Hi Mike, I follow your videos and I have a question about hydrangeas cuttings. I have heard that if you take a cutting from a hydrangea stem that it has a flower, the hydrangea that you get from that it will not flower. Is this true?
