This video will show you how to program your Toyota key that has the chip inside (transponder key), which the key will cost you less than $15. Very easy to program for DIYers. Don't go to the dealership and pay over $200 for the same method of programming and a key cut....it's a waste of money.

transponder keys have a ridge around the edge of the key when it's cut. The key you had cut was a regular key, not a transponder key.

@duanechimoni6609 The key that I had wasn't a regular key, my friend. Regular key won't be able to start my car unless you program it like I did in the video.

How do I program a new chipped transponder key without having the original (original transponder key is missing.)

You do need the original key before you can program an extra transponder.
If you lost the original transponder key, you can go to the ACE Hardware store and they can make you a new one or clone one as an original one for you.
