- Recently I got asked to compare Tanishq, PCJ, Malabar Gold & Diamonds & Kalyan jewellers on the basis of jewellery as the person was concerned regarding making charges and didn't want to feel cheated. In this detailed video I took a 10 Gram Gold chain and 10 Gram Gold coin and compared about all the available options. I have tried to add a lot of information into this video and spent a lot of time on this so I would appreciate if you could like & share the video :)

Every machine chain.....Jewellers buied by paying 2.5% wastage ....that means if gold rate is 4500/gram 22ct....than maximum 150/gram cost arrived .... Business to Business cycle...but
Business to Consumers cycle machine chain making charges took minimum 550/ gram....

Thanks for watching. No I am not a jeweller. You can judge by comparing with similar looking jewellery at other shops or like I did online in this video.

You can check on malabar's website...they have mentioned making charges and price breakdown.

West Bengal me Senco Gold is a famous brand I am interested in buying a platinum band from them. I went to their showroom few days back and liked a platinum+gold band and they said the band/ring has 3.9gm gold 18k and 4gms platinum 950k
Gold 18k base charges per gram 3816
Platinum per gram 4450
Service charges 11,000
Total price 42,000 and GST 3% extra
I find rate of metals is less but service charges are high. Can you share your thoughts on this

Hi, can you send any product link if that same band is available on senco's website. making charge on platinum is a bit higher because it is harder to work with. Metal content is worth Rs. 32,682 so that means making is over 30-35%

I would like to correct you, Tanishq are the 1 who supported BIS marking & they are the 1 who's jewelry had marking much before other companies followed.
I saw tanishq products up close, I don’t see any BIS mark on it, although I did see a hallmark by Tanishq. If you have an image with BIS hallmark on it please email or send it via instagram.

PCJ was decent when I was making that video, you would have to cross check to find out about current scenario. Mainly because malabar introduced "one india one gold rate" recently

Hallmark is going to help customers build trust on honest local jewellars..
Big showrooms often charge 8-10 % more even for the same product
Local jwellery store will give you 18 karrat gold things and charge you for 22 karrat gold price.
Local jewelary shop is good buy? Or branded is better?
If you know a trusted jeweller then can buy from them, look for BIS Hallmark.

You can do a quick price comparison like I did as above, choose a design and check weight. Find the price per gram then buy from either, both are good.

1 - Design ke hisab se rate check karna padega kyunki sabko alag alag pasand aati hai

Good information,but tanishq making charge is high,in the bill they don't mention wastage but in other jeweller making charge is less,but they deduct as a wastage
If they don't mention wastage it may still mean that wastage charges exist but maybe Tanishq doesn't want to show it.
Wastage means only gold charge and making charges information on Bill
Bill ke anadar breakup list mein making charges ka percentage mention kia hota hai :)

Might be accurate for their Gold only, can’t say exactly because calibration is sometimes weak. I suggest going to BIS purity centre for proper results.

Yesterday I purchased a gold earning from kalyan I.e on 17Feb. And at that tym 18 CT gold price was low nd they charged me the amount which was high.. means they charged the amount which was on 15 Feb and on 17 Feb it was low as comparison to price on 15Feb. So guys before buying anything related to gold.. check the price of 18CT too coz sometimes we check the price of 24CT nd 22CT nd this way they get a chance to make us fool.

I bought a gold chain in january us waqt 36 ya 37000 k rate se or chain ka weight 13gm approx tha or mujhe pura jo bill bna ke diya gya wo 58000 ka diya but muje inka Jewellers ka calculation ni samj aya 650 rs making charges per gm wo jeweller leta h please can u tell me ky funda h 😅 ulu bna diya muje ky😅its really complicated
Maan lo 37000 tha gold ka price per 10 grams..toh 1 Gram hua 3700.
3700 x 13 Gram = ₹ 48,100
650 Making Charge x 13 Gram = ₹ 8,450
Total 48,100 + 8,450 = ₹ 56550
Now add 3% GST
56550 x 0.03 = 1700₹
FINAL COST : 56550 + 1700 = 58000
