I think these were the only reactors that didn´t think Hisoka was a examiner "at the beggining. When people really watch and think about what they are watching it´s really more interesting to see. Finnally someone that really know how to watch an anime. Nice work.
No, they aren't the only ones. I mean, it's VERY obvious that Hisoka wasn't an examiner. Tonpa explicitly stated that Hisoka was a participant in last year's exam and was a shoo-in to become a Hunter, but failed because he almost killed an examiner. Anyone who thinks that Hisoka was an examiner just didn't pay any attention at all.
A little bit of background info, the reason the second phase (episode 6) was kinda weird is because it was shortened as the new version cut out a lot of content. In the original the guy and the girl had different challenges. The one you get here is the one the guy had given. As for the girl she told them to make i believe it was sushi (something that isn't common in that world) and the contestants had to figure out what the meal was suppose to be based only on the cooking equipment provided. The challenge was based on testing their attention to detail and creativity. But the ninja guy knew what sushi was and everyone copied him which defeated the whole purpose of the challenge and which is why she got angry and failed everyone.
The funny part is that anything mysterious is being called magic but in reality it's just Hisoka being Hisoka, no magic, just skills and maybe ehem ehm NEN

This anime is very special in my opinion. My favorite arc is the second to last one for the anime, but my second favorite is this first one. The first couple of episodes are a huge troll, making you think it is a kids show. The number of bodies in this exam are crazy. Only 42 are left at this point and that is only after two tests.
Hey, as the story gets more interesting, i would recomend taking small notes of things like rules, abilities, ect. Although doing that isnt necessary to understand the story, the anime doesn't really explain certain concepts as well as the manga. In my opinion it really helps understand the worldbuilding, and character's abilities ad limits.
