Excellent overview and advice on Wyoming pronghorn tags 🏷️ etc… Thanks for the date reminders. I’m hoping that with 4 points for deer 🦌 and pronghorn that I will be able to draw both tags 🏷️ this year.
The usual difference between a Type 1 and 2 tag 🏷️ is mostly hunt dates or one can only hunt that unit in a certain direction of a stated road which can still have public land.
Montana and Idaho have pronghorn draws after the Wyoming one, but I believe it’s before you get the draw results back. June 1st and 5th respectively.

Doesn’t NM keep your license fee if you apply as a non-resident?

They refund the cost of the tag but not the application fee($13), game hunting license($65), habitat stamp($10) or HMAV stamp($4).

If your a resident you are bascily screwed . Its been 17 yrs since i was given a tag an, im Not picky. I wasnt wanting special areas resedents are overlooked game an fish is all about money not animal preservation. Non resedents have a much better chance cause you will pay more They also like giving u tags on private knowing you will pay up the nose to get on that land . Its a real good scam they have going for the greedy land owners .Game an fish working hand in hand to make land owners rich .

Do they not let residents purchase preference points?

Residence only can purchase preference points for moose and bighorn sheep since tag numbers are low and competition high. They shouldn’t need points for other big game.

Nash sorry your having a hard time getting a tag. Try GoHunt to find areas you can draw tags in. It works for residents also.
