I think that has to do with the fact that as he said that he put on his mask to cover his identity and Insomniac probably thought that it was fitting in that specific situation with the music in the background.
It would of been cool if miles had a playlist and you could pick songs from it by using the friendly neighbor hood since it it also his phone when you swipe left on the pad to bring up the app you could choose a crime a mission or go to his playlist to pick music
The cutscene, Pete's and Miles' dialogue, the transition to gameplay, the name of the song and the song itself make for one helluva memorable moment. You definitely feel the same way Miles does when you start swinging.
This song is the perfect way to make the player feel like miles. He realises (when pete tells him hes leaving) he will be on his own and how much weight has been put on him but at the same time is trying to contain the excitement. Isomniac, thank you for brining the name spiderman back to its provenanc. A spiderman is someome who does everything in their power for the good of others even if that act will harm them in any form. If you couldnt tell spiderman is my favorite superhero and i mean favorite by the concept of being spiderman *cough, his sticky icky powers are a bonus
At the beginning of the video, I love that the subtitle switch’s from “Miles” to “Spider-Man” when Miles says “I’m New York’s only Spider-Man...” “I’m New York’s only Spider-Man!” I thought that was a nice touch. It hit me in the feels a bit.

I'm glad this song is getting the attention it deserves, ever since it was released in 2019 this song and Jaden's ERYS album is lowkey underrated, this particular song is my favourite in the whole album. If you vibe with this, I suggest y'all to check out the album. Again, I, K, and On My Own is some of my favourite songs of all time. Bought PS5 few days ago, Miles Morales was my first game I played on it. And this scene totally got me. It was absolutely amazing. I wished the song didnt stop so I just could swing around the city at night with this in the background forever.
This was the smartest thing they did, the cinematic vibe of this part of the game was fucking beautiful, the fact that it kept playing once you were allowed to free swing 👌🏼 beautiful

When this scene came, the song and then you started playing, I was so hoping that the song would play in an endless loop while I swing around town. An Mp3 player or something would have been really nice here. The track is so good and fits like a glove. Just made a GMV with this song.
Am I the only one that swung the whole way through the song? Just wanted to enjoy it and take it all in. Loved the song before it was the theme of the game and I was THRILLED when it popped up in the trailer.
I had my headphones on and smoked before starting the game and when this song came on it was my 1st time hearing it. Everything about this scene was soo dope.
I watched a streamer play this after finishing Spiderman 1, ON Christmas night, and it really is a stark difference in feel. The music felt kinda generic and static in Spiderman 1, while this sequence just feels so genuinely cinematic Just the vibe of swinging around the city on Christmas night, with the snow and the lights, and this song fits it so perfectly, it has stuck with me since I saw it. I especially love how when you go into the menu the song stays on just low passed, so it never breaks you out of that moment.
This was an amazing intro to the game, I did not see it coming and I was impressed with a smile on my face (which is rare in games these days) this song is also absolute fire and went straight on my playlist. Fun game this was
I love how Miles’ and Gankes’ conversation from 1:13 to 1:19 actually flows incredibly well with the song. I know it’s unintentional, but it’s hard not to unhear it after listening to that part.
