I like your Gman voice, Hope your excited over rumours of HL3!, The aqua tanks mortar is very useful against artillery at a flat angle or as a stylish way to kill a low hp pig
Assuming this is the old Aqua-Base, and that there is a newer Aqua-Base map being put into the works, I think it suffers from, what I could recap, as the Field Hospital syndrome - there are too many elements, in my honest opinion. If I were a game developer, I'd be thinking about strategically and conventionally placing assets in certain places, where I'd use them. For example, in this map, the Aqua-Tanks are too weirdly placed in my opinion. If I were to change that I'd position them on the land, which allows the option for players to choose either land or water. Another example is the Shelters - in my opinion, there are too many of them. Having too many shelters can feel like a single-player mission and, in a Hogs Competitive scene, that might not necessarily be the brightest idea. I definitely think a re-work is needed for this map, because it definitely suffers the Field Hospital syndrome. If I were to create this map, I'd have the Aqua-Tanks on the lands where the metal slats are and replace the Pillbox with a Shelter. To me, this would serve a better function as players could decide whether to go on the offensive or defensive, but keep it to conventional standards. Egregious overuse of assets can make it feel too crowded, in my opinion. Now, from what I see from the map, this is an unused version of Skulduggery, a 3 player version specifically. And, while I didn't like that version because of its overpowered weapon supply drops, this one doesn't make it stand out. I will just say me writing this, I'm sort of biting my own tongue, with the phrase once bitten, twice shy. So as I write this comment, I have this very nervy approach to it. And, while I commend you for creating new maps, there are just some that don't make the cut in my opinion. Either because of bizarre asset placements or just weird concepts. Some are better than others though. It's just in my eyes, things could be different. A little more balanced, equalised, conventional... I just hope there is a new version of Aqua-Base coming, because while this one works for a lot of people, it's too much for me. And a lot of those nervy opinions of mine for maps are because of these very things. So, yes, if there could be an update on these things, I'd very much appreciate it if there could be some dialling down on these things. Because I think it could be a bit more enjoyable. I'm thinking the likes of the old Pdrag (before it became Death Patch), Square Off and Chill Hill and the old Dam Busters (to notably more minor degrees). I think what I'm trying to say is that a map doesn't have to be over the top with elements for challenge's sake, and still be enjoyable. And it's those types of maps that give me, and a fair few others, more enjoyment. That's all. This is not a dig as such, but I would like to state that some maps do suffer from this and I'd love to see some changes be made. Sorry, my long thought to typing comment is now finished.
Are you skilled enough to take the aquatank out for dinner by one tapping it with a shrapnel grenade? Prove me wrong soldier
