Not for me honestly. The slower footsteps just feel heavier and more powerful in a way. Yes, 2x is scary (imagine if Mr. X could run), but I have regular speed scarier because you can just feel him coming for you, in a way.
Just found this, maybe you could do one of a ghost hunting in phasmophobia, if at all possible - quite similar to this, I'd imagine, but with a sort of stifling muffled effect in the background.
In this particular storeroom on the third floor of RPD, Leon is standing behind a shelf aligned with the back wall. There’s a straight path door to door in this room that Mr. X is programmed to travel if you don’t make noise or he doesn’t see you go into this room. So as long as the character’s quiet, Mr. X will simply travel in front of the shelves you’re hiding behind. It doesn’t work forever though. After a set internal game timer goes down and Mr. X hasn’t seen you in that time, the game directs Mr. X to your exact location for confrontation, even if you’re hiding behind something. So there’s no place Mr. X wont eventually find you besides the designated safe/save rooms as well as the two interrogation rooms on the first floor, Chief Irons office on the second floor, the STARS office, and the clock tower mechanism room.
