Painting and finishing new body shell swap Traxxas trx4 land rover defender p/n 8011

- I got a new shell for my trx4. This required masking and painting and all of the parts to be transferred from the factory body onto my newly painted one. It is quite a long process! I decided on a white body, and plan to run my land rover minus the roll cage because i am basing it around my real land rover, which doesn't have a roll cage. The body shell is a genuine Traxxas part 8011

Lol plus it’s the in look, the patina is probably sweet, u see everyone tries to get the patina n rusty look on there crawlers now a days it’s the in look,it might up the value if it’s rusty,lol
It runs sweet but i can't use it at the moment because i smashed the windscreen and haven't fixed it yet, i like the rusty with moss look, it takes years to perfect!

Thanks man, I was going to airbrush it but i got impatient and grabbed a brush If it was a shelf queen i would have tried much harder but if it was too good i'd be scared to use it for fear of destroying it!

Hi, I love your wheels and tyres. Where can I grab a set. Cool old school looking rig.
Those wheels look pretty cool in the smaller narrow wheels are going to be more scale and realistic anyway the factory tires that come on these rigs anyway if they were scaled up would be like 40 something inches
I had those wheels on my trx4, snapped the centre off one and rounded the hex off another one, just wish I hadn't superglued the tyres on.
@Steve Perez I bought Mazur 4Pcs 1.9 inch 115mm rubber tires tier with metal wheel rim set from Amazon, says currently unavailable at this time.
awesome. I'm trying to make my traxxas summit into my white LR4 but I can't find a body shell of an LR4.

I like your project of making the Trx4 look more realistic. Like using less aggressive and big Offroad tires.
I did the same for the tires by using Pitbull PBX 1.9. Super capable tire but with more realistic look for a classic Land Rover. With the exception of the portal axles which is not very commun... but so practical!
