Thanks for posting this one and also your other videos about Hamilton electrics. You don't see them very often on TH-cam , so keep up the good work! I was bitten by the electric "bug" about 10 years ago and I quickly degenerated into a man who was constantly seeking them out. First with Accutrons, then Hammy electrics, then Lip R148s and so on... I agree entirely that all the electrics work perfectly as daily wear watches, indeed I am wearing my Lip R27 Cosmos as I type this............yep, it's still going!
If your Hamilton Electric tends to run too fast, like gaining several minutes per day, an Accucell-1 will work just fine. I just found out that Hamilton Electrics (much like their Japanese counterparts, the Hamilton Ricoh, and the Elgin 725) are very sensitive to the extra voltage of mercury free cells. After using the Accucell on mine, they started running properly and I can finally regulate them to keep good time. Soon to be an owner of a 505 Converta II too. :)
Interesting. I don’t know if Jarett installs something during the service to account for the regular battery, but my Van Horn runs almost at chronometer specs after his service.
Great watch for Hamilton! I just cannot understand that there are no American watch lovers in the scene… could you recommend me good books about American watchmaking history?
I usually don't like to share the specific watchmakers, but if you watch the live stream I point to in the end screen of this video you might get an idea;)
Hidden gem! Thank you for your insight you make alot of great points. It's so enjoyable discovering overlooked pieces.
